How is this stuff for shelf life? Is it like super glue? (You buy a big bottle and use 3 drops and the rest of the bottle turns hard in a few days )

UPDATE: Thought I'd provide an update for anyone thinking about hydrodipping engine bay parts. The red air breather I had done months ago is doing fine. Now that we've already had 90 degree weather in April here in Texas, I'm happy to report that there has been no ill effects to the hydrodipped breather. It sits atop my DD 4.9 so it's had warm weather testing. Hopefully it will hold up this summer through extended hot weather driving exposure.

Well thats good to know. I love the look under your hood and I could see a few other things being done with this process if its going to hold up ok.

Wish I would have bumped into the post earlier. I recently purchased a Pontiac Torrent (Chevy Equinox clone) for my main driver. I wanted to dress up the interior, so I purchased the stick-on/die-cut dash kit. While it's been "ok" (coming up in a couple spots), I believe it would have looked much more "factory" if I had gone down this route and sent my dash pieces in to be coated. Anyway, thinking about having my Fiero dash pieces done, just trying to decide what would look good with the tan interior of a Gold GT... I always thought the "grid" pattern that came out in the '88 models was kind of cool....

well i bit the bullet and bought the large bottle of max 1. had to order it from the factory couldn't find in stores anywhere. it was $44.00 even. only took about 2/3 days to get. when not in use keep in freezer, this stuff doesn't freeze. pretty much like super glue except it starts to stick almost immediately. in some cases i just held it together for 5/10 seconds. on parts with the sponge rubber backing i clipped it just in case and for convenice. high price- good product. thanks Alex4mula this is something i could have used a long time ago.

hey ron just wondering if you have come any closer to finding a dot-matrix pattern. i don't suppose you could send these companies a piece of original dot-matrix parts to see the pattern? i'm sure theres a lot of parts that can't be used floating around that you could out as samples to suppliers. just my .02 thanks

I'm just waiting for a reply back from one of the companies that I am trying to start ordering supplies from. I should be ables to get a sample book from them as soon as I set up an account with them. Once I get that I can compare it to some if the parts that I have.

That's about as close as you will get. If you are looking to get as close to original as you can this pattern isn't going to do the job.

Ron just wondering if you are still doing these for folks? I sold the other car with the pieces you did for me and I would like to look into something for the car I have now. Thanks
