They appear tall because they are not mounted in the car. The final door height with the 6060 is roughly 100mm outboard and 110mm inboard
The glass you see is projector lens The lens is an actual 60mm vs the 45mm lens in a Hella 90mm low beam module.
The 90mm has a shiny cosmetic ring that serves no optic purpose. Hella does this to make its low beam projector look similar to their free-form reflector 90mm high beam There are lots of larger lens diameter low beam projectors out there for salvage,but.... Larger lens, larger ellipsoidal reflector, longer focal length, and unfortunately longer fixtures The great limitation we have with our Fiero application is fixture length.
The holes in the faceplate are roughly the same diameter for 60mm and 90mm modules. The big difference is that the 60mm modules do not have the beauty ring.
The depth is still similar, unless you modify your hood or something under it you can only make it so low.
The hood/headlight door raises only as high as the bucket pushes it up. If the bucket were thiner (or not as tall), the headlight door would not raise as high... Basically, I would only want to see the bulbs when there up; would want to see very little of the housing (face the bulbs are mounted on)...

Now THAT'S what I'm talking about! I'm glad I keep stalling on getting you the money for the lenses, the buckets look better all the time. You're going to sell a ton of these come tax time, I'm thinking.
OK, now those pics show the height better... Not as bad as I thought! Can they be made even lower? Or do the size of the bulb housing prevent that? I take it that is CF sheet overlay? Looks pretty good; but to get it "perfect", you may want to make your own CF bucket (U-shape) out of CF cloth resinated to the desired shape. This way, you would not have corner seams...

ALJR, I am pretty happy with this final elevation. I could tweak it til my brain rusts.
If you want to one off something, we can talk privately more
The Carbon Fiber Finish is 3M Di-Noc Architectural film. It is very expensive, but nowhere near the cost of true CF. There is no need to shed weight at CF cost for a street car. Let's face it, this is a cosmetic option. Di-Noc requires skill to apply but has an amazing ability to cover contours. If you want to grind, cut, and bondo on my buckets, I'd be happy to sell you the raw film
Srowe, The new buckets use the stock hinge bolts and a 10 by 40mm "Push Pivot" bolt I provide. 3 bolts a side, no modifications, very simple and fast. Low profile is achieved because new bucket is less tall.
The modification you will have to make is to your wiring. The stock sealed beam is a H4 connector. Hella 60mm and 90mmprojector modules use 9005 and H9 connectors respectively. You may cut off the H4 and butt splice pigtail connectors into your existing harness. I make a plug and play, male H4 to lamp Y adapters.
I highly recommend installing a dual relay harness. Separate high and low beam modules allow you to run all lights simultaneously on high. This is a huge advantage over dual-beam reflector headlamp systems. The stock Fiero is not designed to do this and must be modified to accommodate the additional current flow. In particular the wiring to and from the headlight switch supplying the dimmer switch and those switches themselves will burn up eventually if you run double the designed current through them. I also make one of these as well. All electric parts may be sourced through me and shipping combined.
We will go live with a better Joomla website very soon. The old site, which I am not updating is becoming limited quickly
The 3m Di-Noc Carbon fiber film makes my product look so much better, I will not sell buckets without it. I have other color samples coming and will keep you posted. If someone wants to do some customizing, I can send the film raw and you can apply it.
I do not like the adjusters Hella provided with the 60mm modules. I have replaced them with SS M5 50mm 4mm alan head bolts. These are the bolts in these photos. the uncovered bucket in the older thread have black Philips head bolts.
Hella 60mm projectors that have been on back-order, should be on US soil in two weeks.
We are in the now in the harness business. We have: --A connector set if want to do your own, --Pair male H4 to 9005 (or H9) "Y" adapter harnesses --Dual Relay LBOWB (low beam on when bright) Harness We use Hella relays with auxiliary contacts. If you need a driving or fog lamp interconnect, we can do that too.

Any way to make them counter-sunk?

Why yes it is the bartman. I saw "deathproof" and I thought a skull would look cool.
About color selection, a member turned me on to a good supplier who sent me some samples. 3m makes 300 different patterns http://solutions.3m.com/wps...Film/ProductGallery/ There are solid colors but no red carbon fiber. I have only priced higher quantities but I assumed some one would eventually want a light colored carbon pattern. I can check availability if you want something special.
Nice on the El Barto crossbones. I remember back when the Simpsons was good...I was 9 years old, and every time it was on I'd walk to my grandma's house and watch it on Fox 59 through an ANTENNA.

Non North American Customers will need to source their "E-code” lamps locally.
All of our modules come from our suppler in Pennsylvania. Our list price is roughly the same. If you ship the modules to us, we will install them in your buckets for free.
You have several wiring options: You may purchase a connector set and build your own “Y” harness or hard-wire modify your stock harness Our “Dual Relay LBOWB (low beams on when bright) Harness connects directly to your battery. High and low beams are independently fused and fed. High temp wire loom for engine compartment, tapping screws, and zip-ties included. Stock rear mounted batteries require an extension.

The best way to correspond with me is via e-mail questions@projectorretrofit.com PMs are difficult for me to track. When you decide, tell us your configuration and I will send you a PayPal invoice Of course, snailmail and checks are welcomed as well.
More images are coming as soon as I can acquire a better camera.
You are pointing out a huge design issue. I placed the modules as low as I dared. The edge of the beam just "kisses" the edge of the door opening When I moved the fixture lower I did not see a sharp shade or shadow created by the bodywork. I saw more of a overall reduction in cast light.
These optics are great and quite costly. I saw no purpose in placing them too low and undermining their function.
" I have a question in regards to your headlight system. I did look at your web site, and was hunting around for a full price for the buckets, lights and wiring? I am also a uncertain as to which of the three light systems is the one for me. What is the difference in the systems, is it candle light, field of beam, both? The last question is it really plug and go or do I need to splice into my existing light system? If possible, I would like to just be able to connect into the existing wiring."
Good Morning,
I started out with 90mm modules and have upgraded to the 60mm for several reasons.
The 60mm low beam projector module has a true 60mm in diameter lens. In the 90mm module, the lens is only an actual 45mm. The 60 low beam has a very defined "cut-off" and makes a much more even light than the 90 and I prefer that.
The 90mm high beam is a reflector unit and you are limited to stock wattage h9 bulbs. The 60mm high beam projector can legally accept a 9011 HIR bulb that produces substantially more lumins. I also am hoping to be able to use the 60mm high beam more in fog. (jury is still out on that one)
I run all LBOWB (low beams on when bright) I drive mountain roads at night in a part of the country where there are tons of deer. I want some peripheral illumination to spot bambi at speed. Brighter high beams will balance better with the low beams on at bright.
About wiring connections, My car will never have another H4 bulb. I have cut them off and hard wired a dual relay harness. I do have spade connectors at the buckets because it is my testing platform. Can you solder? If not, buy the "Y" adapters
