Ok lets review the add

For sale, 1987 GT

Engine:
3.8L L67 from a 99 Regal GS, Reprogrammed by Sinister.
4T65EHD Trans
Zzp performance shift kit and new OEM trans filter.
88 GT Cradle, rear trailing arm set from Fierostore. HT Motorsports strut relocation kit. 350lb springs.
Cold air intake with K&N filter and Drycharger sock.
Handmade 3” exhaust with Series 70 muffler and C6 tips.

Others:
Fiero store upgraded front swayber.
Archie battery box. 4/0 power cables supplying the power and excellent grounding.
New battery.
Sunbird turbo tach.
Performance sound system.
CD radio from a 99 grand prix.
S10 brake booster.
Rear wheels, 18x9
Front Wheels, 17x8
Tires, Yokohama S-Drive. 7,000 miles on’em
Poly in all the suspension.
No rust in the usual spots. Very clean frame.
Cons:
Been hit in the front and rear. Some damage to the nose and right fender. It’s mostly cosmetic.
Headliner is rough, could use one of Archie’s replacements.

I have replacement fenders and a used nose that’s in good shape. Also have a no sunroof roof panel. All spare parts going with it.

The right tail and little GT logo is busted out. I am working on replacing them.

I have an extensive build list covering the entire project. Receipts, part numbers etc…

This car runs excellent and is currently my daily driver. Lots of other little things too. If you are interested we can get more detailed.

Asking for $6000 for it.

OK lets review

1.) Poly in all the suspension. While changing the tires I had the opportunity to lube the front suspension. Hmmm did you take the poly out because there is none other than the sway bar.

2.) Cold air intake with K&N filter and Drycharger sock.

While under the car in the rear repairing a transmission oil leak I noticed this....
What happened to it?? Did it get taken off and sold? I know times are tuff for you, but you should have told me what you did to the air cleaner. I made a comment that it was noisy but I was not referring to the exhaust but the weird sucking noise.

3.) No rust in the usual spots. Very clean frame. Hmm while up front lubing the suspension I noticed this...............
.

4.) In another post I asked about the cooling tubes, as I had some bent on my 88. You made a statement "Coolant tubes are fine. Every time I took the car in to have it aligned I made sure the guys knew how to pick up the car. They were always very condescending about it like "we work or Ferraris, your car isn't that special" then they look at it like its an alien and i have to tell them where to lift. The tubes are 25 years old, a little scratched up but otherwise fine.".
Can you see the bend? Also why didnt you tell me the coolant bracket was broke?
Here is a better angle to see the bend.

5.) I have an extensive build list covering the entire project. Receipts, part numbers etc… I am going to need this to make repairs to the car. I know you are working on it, but you stated that you were going to bring it along with some other things when you brought the car.

There was no need to misinform me. Be up front and straight with me and things will work out for the better.

No need for a smart donkey reply. It was late, dark, freezing rain, cold, I had/have the flu virus, you were in a hurry to get going. You offered to bring it up. I didnt know I would have to spend hours going completely over the car. Which meant you would not have left Grand Rapids to well past mid night. I TRUSTED YOU AND YOUR WORD.

Now we can make this better if you will come clean with me. What else do I need to know? It was below zero last night and I managed to keep the garage above 33 degrees while changing tires and fixing the tranny leak. But I didnt have time (to cold & I have the flu virus) to take the car apart to see what else is good or wrong with the car. Where is the air cleaner? When are you going to send it? That cant be good on the engine.

A set screw or what looks like one fell when I changed the tire on the passenger side rear. I think it might go to the coil overs? But without any information I dont know where it came from?

You can PM me or email me @ solotworacer@yahoo.com and we can keep this off the forum if you want. It is your choice.

1.) Poly in all the suspension. While changing the tires I had the opportunity to lube the front suspension. Hmmm did you take the poly out because there is none other than the sway bar.
You must not know what you are talking about. There is a poly kit inside the upper control arm, got it from Fierostore.

2.) Cold air intake with K&N filter and Drycharger sock.

While under the car in the rear repairing a transmission oil leak I noticed this....
I don't know where this is in the car? the picture is unclear and the picture you posted is not the same location as the picture I posted. I don't recognize that area.
What happened to it?? Did it get taken off and sold? I know times are tuff for you, but you should have told me what you did to the air cleaner. I made a comment that it was noisy but I was not referring to the exhaust but the weird sucking noise.
The air cleaner was on there from the day I street-ed the car. It was enclosed by the inner fender liner and the spaceframe. It was also thoroughly taped in place to prevent leaks. Please don't make accusations that you cannot back up. I have a witness as to the installation of that intake system. Who was there when you took the car apart.

3.) No rust in the usual spots. Very clean frame. Hmm while up front lubing the suspension I noticed this...............
That is not one of the usual spots, and to be honest I forgot about that support. I had planned on replacing that entire corner of the car and forgot about it. my bad.

The coolant tubes are fine. There is no bend visible in either of those pictures.

5.) I have an extensive build list covering the entire project. Receipts, part numbers etc… I am going to need this to make repairs to the car. I know you are working on it, but you stated that you were going to bring it along with some other things when you brought the car.
Yeah, maybe while planning the 1,000 mile trip, towing a car, I forgot to grab the book out of my safe. If you cant figure out how to work on this car you don't deserve to own a car that is 25 years old. Go spend the money and buy a new car with 100,000 mile warranty and factory coverage. I didn't even have a maintenance manual for the fiero when I started this. I used Pennocks, gmtuners.com and my friends. I could see how that last resource might be a little difficult for you the utilize.

I have your email and someday in the undetermined future I will attempt to email you the contents of the build sheets. I am tired of your whining. Get over it, the car is yours now. I didnt make any attempt to mislead you. AGAIN, YOU HAD THE OPPORTUNITY TO LOOK OVER THE CAR BEFORE YOU BOUGHT IT. IF YOU HURRIED BECAUSE OF SOME UNSTATED FEELING OF URGENCY THAT IS YOUR FAULT. I MADE EVERY ATTEMPT TO LET YOU DRIVE THE CAR AND LET YOU SEE IT FOR WHAT IT WAS.

Ave Atque Vale

P.S. That set screw is likely from the red retaining collar on the coil-over. It is aluminum and you don't want to strip it out.

The coolant tube is bent! I know as I had two tubes bent on my 88 by the "best tech" Berger in Ionia has.

I'll take a better picture.

It is black rubber. But just to insure that you are indeed correct and I am wrong, I will take the car apart again and verify

Excuse me sir but I have done all the repairs on my 88 that I had for over 12 years.

Sir I do not make false accsuations. It is as plain as the lips on your face that the air cleaner is gone. I will take the tire off and the inner fender off to prove to you that it is missing.

May the Lord have mercy on you soul!

The sunroof visor that you gave me. What does it fit? You nissan? It does not fit the Fiero sunroof. There is a about a 2" gap on both sides when you center it. It does not clamp as per the instructions attached to it. If it fits your other cars I will gladly send it back to you.

I understand you are going through trying times.

I will Pray that the Lord will bless you and see you through.

Jesse did you install the S-10 master? Do you know if it has been bench bled? Ogre and others are asking because of the soft brake pedal.

The 240sx doesn't have one of those covers for the sun roof so I have no idea what its for. I am almost positive its for the Fiero.

The S-10 is just the brake BOOSTER, not the master cylinder. It is using the original factory brake master cylinder. I never really noticed any problems with the brakes, the car seems to stop fine, and significantly better than other factory fieros. I have a 240sx with all stainless brake lines, over-sized rigid steel lines, over-sized master cylinder, over-sized booster and $1,000 worth of rotors and pads so my other car braking experience is radically different.

I understand about the snow. It was mid forties and a beautiful sunny day here. NO SNOW. Hope it is driving well.

You know this thing goes through the snow better that the 88 coupe did. I think the weight of the 3800 in the rear and putting the battery in the front helps the front tires turn. Yes you are correct, I am sorry it is the booster. Brain freeze. When it gets a little warmer I will do a complete bleed of the brake system to get any air out. It is 4 here this morning. I hope you find a job.

What are you expecting from a 25 year old car with near 200K on it? It's going to have issues, like anything else. When I do a custom build, there is a lot of things that I have to do that get buried or hidden and I forget about it, or I just deal with it. That's why I don't plan on buying an already swapped car or selling mine without parting it out, because I wouldn't want someone nit-picking me to death. This car had a rough life before Jesse, it was pretty beat up before he started working on it. I got the original 2.8/Getrag it had with 186K miles. It wasn't very pretty, you should have seen the sludge in there. That car ran great with the L67, and I saw the documentation first hand, and you could not get more complete then it was.

The soft pedal is most likely from having the factory rubber lines (if it still does). I won't trust those anymore at all. Also, another factor is that it has 87 calipers in the front and 88 calipers in the rear. This WILL throw the system off balance, as the 88 calipers have a different size piston bore.

I will admit that coolant tube does look kinked, but not completely bent like I have seen before. It should be fine.

Sorry to hear Jesse is going though bad times, I hope things improve over time for you.

Steve, I don't know what to tell you anymore. You are obviously unhappy about the purchase. I am sorry for that. There is nothing else that I can do from here. I will continue to answer questions about the car but I have no ability to make any more changes to the car or the past. I have a lot of things that I would go back in time to fix if I could.
I looked closer at the picture of the missing intake, yes that is the proper area, it is turned 90 degrees in the picture and I didn't recognize it.
The coolant tube, I have never seen a factory new coolant tube before so I did not know that that was not part of the natural shape and contour of the tube. Usually when people ask about coolant tubes they are looking for smashed tubes that will result in overheating, not small deflections. The coolant tube brackets, well, the tubes haven't fallen out of the car and it has 200,000 miles on some of the lowest parts on the car. Water, salt, sand and natural aging affected them I am sure.

This is the thread I used to build the intake.
https://www.fiero.nl/forum/Forum2/HTML/105510.html
Please read the whole post regarding how this is done.

This is what I installed in the front suspension.
http://www.prothanesuspensi...detail.asp?prod=7207
Its black, not red. You may be looking for red Energy brand bushings but the Prothane comes in black.

Sorry about getting pissy with you earlier, to be honest I am just getting annoyed with justifying myself. I am sure you are familiar with Caveat Emptor. This could not be more true than with a used car. You got a great deal on a hell of car, ask anybody on here. I went through a ton of work and trouble shooting in order to build that car.
I have a lot going on right now and a hundred pages to scan. I am going to try to get a spreadsheet sent to you with the initial build info and some other files as well.

Also, about the screw from the suspension. I didn't say you took it out, just that that is where it is likely from. If you want put some lock tight in there to prevent the substantial vibration from shaking it out again.
I am still working on getting you the things you need.

Oh you used the black? I am so used to seeing the red poly that when I saw the black I assumed it was the ole black rubber parts.

Sorry!

I just happen to have new brackets so some warm weekend I will change them. My 88 was my first Fiero and I had it 12 years. It was a Texas car so I am accustomed to seeing no rust on the bottom of the car.

There is just one issue but this is not the place. I will try to mail you about it. Do not worry.

Peace

Interesting read, hope it all works out in the end. At least your cars runs, which is more I can say about Bubbajoexxx 4.9 green Shrek sold me. A worthless 4.9 that had no mounts at all, a cracked starter hole that was not fixable, dont even want to talk about the botched up brakes he put together. The only part I kept were the leather seats, wheels and rwar trunk lid
With a little TLC your car will be fine
I had to scrap my
