Spring Bump. Well it looks like I've got a major decision to make this year, lower back is giving me constant pain (4 earlier operations already, no Doctor wants to go back in.), and just plain old age is getting the better of me. So I've got to see if I can can get past those issues, or it's time to part with the car to a good home. Car has been stored in garage for past two years, and that's what it's not mean to do.
Man, I'm sorry to hear that. I hope you find a way to get past it.
It's something I knew was coming, just didn't know when it would hit me. Lower back surgery you end up paying a price for down the road, that's why they don't like to open you up down there unless it's absolutely necessary. While my pain isn't excruciating, it sucks the life out me. It takes your will to anything, and just throws it out the window.
That sucks but you know your limits. At least you're practical and not letting them sit and rot. The Kid is definitely in the upper echelon of Fieros, how can you price it, good luck.
Thanks. That's the huge dilemma, naturally I'd like to get a good price for the car, and secondly know it's going someplace where it can be appreciated. One key would be to find a place to post to that has a very wide audience of special car hunters.
I under stand back pain. Just went through a pulled muscle. Not as bad as having surgery but painful none the less. Did therapy and that helped immensely. Now I have to do back exercises daily or I pay for it. On the other hand my father who was in Florida in the winter and in Michigan in the summer got talked into back surgery when he was in FL. It was botched. What a mess. He ended up 2 years later having all the hardware removed while he was here in Michigan. The specialists here in Michigan told him they would not have done surgery. Any way he was in constant pain for the rest of his life. Not fun. Oh I think we are about same age. Well you probably are younger. Last year I became an official senior citizen. LOL. Still driving a Fiero daily. It's how I get to work.

Thanks for understanding, a lot of people don't know how hard this can be on a person. There is no drug that can help in the long run, nearly all destroy other parts of the body if taken long term. Therapy can help some, but it's pretty damn hard to do exercises when you get out of bed hurting from the get go. I was going to the Chiropractor weekly when I was working, and it helped a great deal. I have bone on bone at L4 zone due to no disc (badly herniated - had to be removed). I'm going to hit 67 this year and nothing I can think of has improved with age.
If you do decide to sell the car please post it here as well. I live in a western suburb of Detroit (Oakland Co) and I have seen your car several times at cars shows in the past, as I have owned Fieros since '87. I have not seen your car in many years, but depending on where you price it I might be interested in seeing it. Thanks!

I'll keep you in the loop. Retirement hasn't been that good financially, so I took a break from the Cruise/Show scene, car has been stored in garage the last 2 years. That and the roads suck pretty bad here in Michigan.

My pain was from a pulled muscle in my lower back. My wife and I want to find the person that coined "The Golden Years" We would like to slap them. LOL Nothing is golden. LOL I hope you can get some relief. I found when I was in pain that my car (Fiero) was easier to sit in then her 2014 Dodge Dart. Less painful in the Fiero than the dart. Which doesn't make sense. Take care.

My son who is an engineer for ADVICS just bought a house in Royal Oak.
I understand that. My wife says I have to work until I am 70. I am 65 now. I "went back to school" back in 2006-2009 got a degree and lots of student loans. LOL. And still didn't improve the income. LOL

They are really bad and yes they suck and there is no excuse for it. I have seen several cars that were either getting loaded onto a wrecker or waiting for one because the car hit a big pot hole in the street and a part broke. This was on the streets of Grand Rapids. Michigan used to have the best roads back in the 60's-70's. I have replaced the front crossmember twice on my car and I truly believe the roads where/are a factor.

Like trying to tie shoes. Trying to find a chair that you can set in and be comfortable for even a few minutes. Oh not being able to sleep in a bed and a chair is some relief but you still can not sleep longer than an hour or so. My father could only sleep in a chair for a few hours at a time. Mom used warm up small "bean bags" for him to put on his back. Dude I really do hope you can get some relief!

A lot has happened since my last post, stroke hit me 1st week of Sept., my Mom had a stroke a couple months back, wiped out her speach, and older sister broke her hip, and had to have hip joint replaced. My stroke impared my walking, so I'll be selling the 88 GT.
