and some more pictures! Although the car will never be finished (money-pit), in time I will have the interior, engine, and chrome parts done.I have a long before its looks like the some of the ones on Pennocks. Besides I'm afraid if it is finished, I'd might have to move on to a different car...not! For now...just a choptop, north*, few mods, nothing special.. lets move on...next please. By the way, I did see a surfer dude with a surf board sticking up-through the sun roof (white GT notch back). I always wondered if a board could fit.

backspacing/offset?

i was wanting to run some wheels once i get my held susp. installed and they measured:

18/10.5 w/58mm offset

17/8.5 w/56mm offset

is this anywhere close to your specs?

Thank for your replys. The wheels sizes are
(f) 19 x 8 on 225/35/19, (r) 20 X 9.5 ON 275/30/20 Toyos (forgot the exact name) anyway, fierobear/Songman posted them on vegas-fest post-pics. I ordered the rims from Custom Auto in Oakland Ca (510) 567-1888 ask for Steve.
He know the exact measurements, however they were based off the Borbets (17 x 7.5) 35mm off set (f & r). But I wanted the biggest rim/tire that could fit, so they measured from there. The rears are close to the original Caddy tire size, so the speedo is exact, besides, I like the Prowler combo look (18/20).
Could have gone bigger up front w/255/30/19.
And believe me, forget what she may have told you, bigger is better (ha, ha). Oh well, the other fiero has this size up front. I just have to send it to Archie's for a chop.

P.S...."roll hard or don't roll at all" is my motto, get what you really want, that way when people(critics) see a (fiero) they forget about the stupid remarks concerning fires, its slow, and has no brakes. I hate shoulda, coulda, woulda. Curley

That car is flat out gorgeous!!! I love it!!

Please tell me you documented, and photographed, all of the work you've done. A 'History of' thread would be incredible reading. We love seeing the inventive process of total customizations.

More!! More!! More!!

(can you tell I like the car yet??)

Yo, hows the car on bumps? Speed bumps mainly? My friend ran 19"F and 20"R Giovanna GF1's on his wifes Black 300ZXTT and she bent the wheels in a week. Also hows the powerband with the wheels? I think I wanna do 19's all around.

Yes, I do have documents from the beginning.
One thread was posted at Archie's (what's up at Archie's) where I had the Top, Chopped. All others are on a disk. Reality made the wall paper of the pics posted....silver choptop. Design 1 Systems installed the northstar, Ryan (Held now) the brakes, and suspension. The hood and trunk moldings were from The Fiero Store (ask for Justin). The insert(black) vent moldings are from a Firebird and since the current Firebirds are like the 89 or 90 concept fiero I didn't feel guilty. Side moldings, as stated previously were molded-in 1992. I got frustrated w/the same old look. Front-side spoilers (wings) where from IRM, from back-in the day. I broke the front spoiler one-two many times however, the sides never broke, so I had those molded-in. (makes he front end wider)at the bottom for a different look and I don't have worry about comming in/out of parking lots.

Mr. Mikes interior seat, West Coast fiero (center speaker console). As you can tell, I have the same as all others. Nothing special to the fiero community, just a 17 yrs old car that still looks better than most of the newer models build today w/o the bells & whisles. And I don't need the Mayor of San Francisco (Willie Brown) escorting me around town in a Lambo either! Rather keep it on the down-low. Ha, ha.

Hey Coolcat, I just couldn't wait for the rear spoiler. I'l mold one-in on the next fiero (it's a Camero spoiler right?)

That is definetly one beautiful ride. But wait! Is that only ONE tail pipe sticking out the rear end?? tisk tisk! (kidding )

Seriously, though. I'm not against it or anything, but I would like to know why 1 was chosen over dual exhaust.

You can blame the morons at the California DMV for that! He had dual exhaust on it, but since a stock Caddy only has one catalytic convertor, his Fiero could only have one (routed through both exhaust banks).

Curly can fill you in on the exact details, but that's the basic gist of it.

BTW Curly.....sorry I missed your call last week (week & a half?). I had just landed at DIA and forgot to call you back. Also, for the last week or so my phone has been on and off.......finally convinced Sprint to give me a new, mor expensive phone!

Anyways, call me again if you want to talk. I can't wait to see your car inperson again, now that it is all finished. Of course, now I will have no chance at winning anything at the shows you enter!

The pictures do not do this car justice. This is one that needs to be seen in person. Curly did an outstanding job on this car and it should be seen in person to truly appreciate all that has been done.

Good job!

Yo, hows the car on bumps? Speed bumps mainly? My friend ran 19"F and 20"R Giovanna GF1's on his wifes Black 300ZXTT and she bent the wheels in a week. Also hows the powerband with the wheels? I think I wanna do 19's all around.

1. Bent wheels.....I try not to roll in unchartered lands. If there are any questions about pot-holes, shady areas, bad weather, and unknown mechanics..roll with the Borbets.

2. Speed-bumps...I will leave that for suv's.
(I'm a ex 70's low rider).

3. What about the Powerband? More mass = slower speed. Solution..buy the lightest wheels possible/smallest rubber band (tire). and get a turbo hook-up (maybe next yr). 17"s are better if they are light wt. For me, I wanted the best of both worlds, 30+ mpg and to fill-up the wheel gaps in the rear. Premium gas is expensive in CA.

4. Only let those drive your car, if they can replace your rims..otherwise they can ride as a passenger (girlfriend included).

5. If all fails, just get them fixed. Look there is no need for 20's if the area you live-in has pot-holes, 17's will do just fine. I only drive the fiero up and down I-5, I'm more concerned about deers and tire treads left in the road.

I don't think I'll have a problem living in AZ. The roads there are SMMMMOOOOTTTHHHHH.

I'm gonna try to go with 19's all around with some bigger tires in the back to get the car to sit right.

That is one of the reason why I went to Oklahoma...to get the Caddy's instrument pod hooked up. For the life of me, they will not let me pass go, until I hook up the relay prom (readout). By hooking up the Caddy's pod...this will allow for them to get a read-out w/their scan tool. Even though I had the Caddy's pod in the car, giving out all the info they needed. Everyting else is in place mind you. They dont care if your car burns cleaner out the tail pipe, gets better MPG, SB100, better for the air we breath, and all sensors checked. No thats not good enuff. So I said whatever...waited after I got the choptop, driveline hook-up, paint job, and the Vegas-fest show. Besides, there is no rush, I have others cars. Could have save my self the time by doing it myself. Forget that! I'd rather go back...allowing time for my wallet to regroup (this happens with all fieros) and to check-out moon roof application and lambo doors w/Ross @ Street Dreams
Everthing is ready now, I just need to make an appt. to pass. After that I will leave the single exhaust on....yeah right! ha, ha

Yep this is a really nice Fiero. Good job, I also wonder what is being done about registration in Cali.

And would you be willing to share how the spoiler was done. I have been commenting for awhile now about the PP eater and it's spoiler and this is the same thing. That version of the stock spoiler is where it's at.

You're car show's what can be done with Fiero's. My car will be coming soon, and it's going be really tough also. I am going with a turbo TDC though. I will post pictures after I complete it in about 2 month's.

Okay, I'm sorry...been working. To answer your questions concerning the rear spoiler.
I don't have a clue. It realy was just a last minute thought too raise the wing out of the way, because I couldn't see. However I remember talking to V8Arhie while looking at the PPE @ his shop. I believe he told me they fiberglassed it in. So when it came to painting the car I said, "extend the wing tips down by two inches at a angle (because the wing-extentions stands where 2" I think) and smooth-in the stands." If I didn't it might look like a surf board and I was afraid that some goof-ball would try to steal the wing and put it on a import or something. Anyway, I came back later and "walla" the wing was done. But I will ask them after Labor Day when I pick-up the other wingless fiero.
However, I did show them a picture of the PPE's wing so they know exactly what I wanted.
You can call them if you cant wait (661) 323-6557 ask for Reuben or Joe @ Trends. Believe me....they do all kinds of various molds there, mostly imports.

Enuff with that, yeah Songman, what about are next unofffical meet where we all show-up at different times of the day? Where so-so laid back (which I like). And if we do...is it possible to have it (inside) near town since most of the those now know where Bakersfield is?
Krispy Creme parking lot? There is a jamba juice there (it's hot like a mug here) or In and Outs? Sonic's food, didn't agree with my GI trac.

Mmmmmm? How about labor Day? I could catch-up with you guys around 18:00hr. Need to get away from HMB, not enuff rays, ha, ha.

Besides, I have too check-in on the "red pill" and see if it is finished.

Hey Sonman, Do you know where I could get a Camero wing(like Coolcat's) at? I'm going to try the local wrecking yard. I just hate it when they say, "yes we have it," and after paying $2.00 to enter and no wings worth looking at.

Mm..mm what was I thinking?
1. Family/significant others are first.
2. Last Hoilday of summer= food, drinks, and relatives.
3. Fiero gatherings come-in a distant last.
Sorry, I counted backwards. I just got e-mailed. Yeah, she will be 1st but, I'm still roll'n in the fiero.

Hey Songman, the wing that I'm interested in is, 85-88 second to the last generation Camero, just like Coolcat's.

Btw, thanks CA kid for your complements. Like many others on this forum, you guys/girls have some of the best looking cars around, which btw, I have learned or copied in some way or form. I have a long way too catch-up. Curl

Thanks Coolcat, How much? And was there a major "pain" to apply? Have any pics of the application?

Sorry, no sound clips. What does a nothstar sound like? I would say its cross between a stock vette and hot rod sound. Lounder than a Vette, yet quieter than a hot rod. However at the Vegas-fest, Mike and Keith northstars where a little bit V8ish, mine was on the quieter side (too loud, the smog reps might bark and bite). Of course I have only one pipe and all three north* had different set-ups. However I accidently scared a 3 year old as she walked w/parents if that counts, but no fatalities ha, ha.
The import guys, well most know that its not a four banger, the rest are tring to figure what the heck it is? In Fresno CA. they in-circled me like Indians (in a movie) three times, finially stopping and asked, "how much did that cost you? I repled, "its a 20 year old car" (17 actually, i just rounded up). One guy asked me, "how could you afford a car like that"? I said, "dude you can buy them for $2,000". Man....That screws them-up even more. No import challanges yet (I'm glad, take it to the track), thanks to the choptop screwing them up and the sound of the motor as I leave.
Thanks V8Archie.
