I am willing to bet that it would (depending on the engine, of course) return 30-35 MPG.
Just finished a 140 mile check ride... I took two trips around the I-610 plus a couple of trips up the middle through downtown. Just working out some kinks in the engine. It wasn't 100% highway, but I got 28.3 mpg. I think I could push it to 30 if I hypermiled it.
The run on Saturday had to be aborted when the engine started stumbling and hesitating. Really thought I had a major problem...but further inspection revealed that my aftermarket cruise control vacuum container IMPLODED giving me an intermittent vacuum leak.
I should have let PBJ put on the Caddy cruise, but the aftermarket one worked at the time. But the good news is the car is back on track for the 25th!!

I just got off the phone with Jscott and he's currently somewhere in AL on hwy 20. He's going to get a good night rest for tonight and then back on the road again to MI. He said that might take addtional 10 hrs. I asked him if he mounted the 19/20s. He said he thought about it, but didn't have enough time.
Plan B is working like a charm. The Movie car is running great. Although I did lose the cruise control immediately but I was able to perform an "in-drive repair" (a few jiggles under the steering column) and it's back and has worked ever since.
About 778.05 miles under my belt and according to the computer about another 658.4 to go.
Working on some minor issues. Replacing the idle speed control motor and setting the minimum idle and cleaning the throttle body. Nothing too exciting, but should be doing some shakedown cruises this weekend.
IKE kind of burned me out and I haven't touched the car in weeks. I need to make a few wiring changes and do some more test drives. But I can't seem to get motivated. A couple of weeks without electricity and gasoline will do that to you.
I haven't touched it in months...must be the winter doldrums, that and being broke. How do you do it???
Life is too complicated and way to short to allow a nice ride garaged, especially since the gas prices are reaching new lows. I'm goosing it more frequently, yahooo.
Get your ride going or get the original installer to fly down and fix the problem, cause D9 is right around the corner.

I'm still having Idle Speed Control issues and haven't had time to work on that...but I did get it out for a 100 mile trip today and the first new photos since the 4th of July

Thought I'd add these. Ya need to see the car in person to really appreciate it. Just beautiful!! Taken yesterday at a Christmas get together hosted by a couple of local clubs-His & Her's Car Club and Lone Star Fieros. Saw faces I haven't seen in years, and renewed old friendships, as well as meeting a bunch of new folks.

I still have several shakedown cruises before I have all the kinks out. Ironically the speedo is one of the more difficult items as the tranny outputs 60,000 ppm the ECM expects 24,000 ppm and the speedo runs on 4,000 ppm.
Right now the interior is mostly stock but it's slowly being updraded to a custom setup. So I have a few more adjustments to make to get everything optimized.
