That picture was taken in the burn out area. I will have to look at the time slip to see if the chop did at the 60 ft mark against the Camaro. (slips are still out in the car) Beck had a run against the camaro that came out pretty tight at the end. People just love the chop top, even though it is multi colored at the moment. Pete

Well it wasn't a very close race.... but here it the timeslip. The first 60ft was good. I think 'ol choppy needs some new tires - they didn't hook up at all but I'm sure this will be only one of it's new improvements once it gets home. I'm looking forward to seeing this car once it's done! Not sure if I will ever get a chance to drive it again once it's done the renovations.

Thanks Becky, I'm sure 'Ol Choppy needs a lot of things. Were you getting wheel spin or was it just slipping?
I've never drag raced in my life, I never thought my car would get the chance before me Maybe I'll get hooked like Linenoise

she went throught the burn-out to get some sticky grip from tires. Byw, she did beat the 1967 Camero. JScott, you know she has a bad 4.9 turbo, right? You might want to get one before you head-out?

It was spinning and got the rubber nice and hot when I did the burnout. When I went of the line, it was spun up for quite a while before it got traction. Due to the old tires. Becky

Gotta love drag racing with a 2 seater and one seat having a baby seat strapped in Wonder if the track would let a baby run in the passenger seat, not that it would be very smart as a parent to try. Wasn't your "little ol" v6 is a stick shift, if it where auto like the 4.9 is you would loose a second or so too. Auto's are good for strength and consistancy on the track, not for setting records IMO. Pete

My kids are always debating (fighting) about who's gonna ride in the car with daddy. For some reason, they always see mom in the minivan lol. I'll have to use a baby seat too! ------------------ Jay Brintnell Owner / Design Lead WordMark.ca Communications

They are heavy too. Thats why I am keeping my 5 speed. I cant wait to get some numbers at the track. I think I will let the humidity go down some and hit the track after a while. ------------------ -Chris - Custom Gun Metal 86 GT 4.9 V8 5spd Build up tread or MODS w/ Pics

Actually those 245/50s probably have less than 5,000 miles on them and are only about a year old, so its not an age issue. I just need stickier tires if I want to drag race. The duke had about 80,000 miles on it with all new accessories. If someone wants to pay the shipping charge from London I could make it worth their while. I can be happy with a 15 second 1/4 mile car...I didn't build it to be a drag car, just a reliable car with a lot of power for normal driving. Another update from Pete. My car went to a cruise night. The car seems to be having a good time on its summer vacation.

I think Pete washed it. That would be the first time its been washed since it became a fastback let alone a chop top.

This keeps sounding more like those "roaming gnome" commercials for Travelocity. You may never get your car back, Jonathan! You'll just get ocassional emails from places where it's been.

According to PBJ my engine swap is officially complete. Linenoise, move me to the complete column!
Unfortunately, (for me) it will be a while before I can drive it. But this is good news for people in the London area... look for the car to show up at cruise nights or even a show-n-shine in the GTA.

Jim and I finished up the final steps today and gave the car a look over after just shy of 300 miles. Fortunatly for me my job on Jscott's car for the next little while is to drive the car to be sure it is completely ready for the trip home. What a hardship The car sure does get alot of looks, kind different, you make a small car even smaller and it gets more attention. Here is my favorite picture of the exterior of Jscott's car.

Steve, Don't feel too sorry for Revin, even though his car will look like a checker cab next to ours it's still pretty darn fast! I think one of my next cars will be a 3800SC just to see what all the fuss is about. I wasn't planning to post more pics, (the car still looks the same) but since you bumped it, I'll give the people something new to look at: From the GTA Show-n-shine:

WoW, look at all the 4x4 Fiero's...LMAO! Oh, I don't feel sorry for him, he has a top 10 PFF Fiero... Nice wheel's, paint, 3800SC(very clean install) and some very nice seat cover's! I have found everything I need for the 5speed swap and at a GREAT price ($150.00), But, I am going to go ahead and install the 4.9L using the 125 and then drive it to MstangsBware's place and we are going to swap out the auto for the 5speed this Fall sometime! I have nothing new to report, except that I will be picking the car up in less than a week. Then starting the cross country journey to get it home. I am going to drive it, rather than trailer it. It will very nearly duplicate the journey almost three years ago when I bought the car in Lockport, NY, (near Niagara Falls) and drove it to Houston. Steve, why are you planning to do the 4.9 swap in two steps? Wouldn't it be easier to just put the tranny you want in there the first time? After you drive it with the 125 you are going to wish you had a better tranny immediately. Looking forward to seeing the spy photos of the smoooth.

Sounds good. Please do take pics along the way + chotop reaction from the locals on the trip. Whats really strange and funny is when ppl were looking at mine comming from Archie's ppl was still asking questions. When I was more concerned about it's apprearance...go figure.

I'm still undecided on the color. I think I'm going to make that a little surprise Hopefully the next series of photos, (after the cruise home) will be with paint on the car. I discovered after leaving Archie's that the car attracted a crowd. Of course a multi-colored chop top on a trailer is not something you see every day. Now a multi-colored chop top with a 4.9 V8, you don't see those too often, (#1 of 1 I believe)

That is going to have to be changed later... I am going to do the 5 speed instead of the 125.. I just don't know when I am going to do the swap(tranny), so I was just going to drive it w/ the auto... But, you want me to wait.. OK, I will wait.
