Hello! Please help me figure this out! I just bought what I believe to be Pace Car #1903. There is some speculation, however, that it may be a clone. I have done a lot of searching on this forum, and there is a ton of good info on the Indy Pace Cars...
My question is this: Is the Pace Car serial number that is associated with the VIN of each car (in my case #1903) on an official list where someone can confirm it is actually a Pace Car? I read about a Pontiac fax that sold on eBay, but I presume no one here has that list? I do not believe that there is a serial number plate on each Pace Car, right? So...the only way to look up the number is on a list? PLEASE HELP me confirm that I have one of the 2000 cars, and not someone's made-up entry on a list (if that's possible)!
To tell if your car is a true Indy on the front inner fender well on the drivers side there should be a white tag with a bunch of numbers and letters. This is the build tag if it says Y82 she is an Indy Post the VIN and the transmission type so we can record the info http://www.fieropacecar.com/

Unfortunately, this is part of my problem! I did the research and found out about the Y82 RPO code (and the other codes that come along with Y82 when you have the pace car). My RPO sheet that is supposed to be on the inner fender near the master cylinder is missing! :-( This was one of the reasons I am not sure about the true status of my car! Unless these RPO sticker sheets fall off easily, I find it hard to believe that someone would deliberately remove it or paint over it.
My VIN is 1G2AF37R2EP272528. It is on one of the lists earlier in this thread, but was it added by someone trying to get away with passing off a pace car clone or does "the list" that this VIN is on confirm 100% that it is a pace car!?!?
That is great news! My car looked sooo suspicious having a different engine, aftermarket wheels, no RPO build sheet, and paint overspray in odd places!
I talked to Rick by email and he is going to check out my login registration for me! Until then, it should be noted that the 3.4 V6 has been removed and a 2.8 Fiero V6 from '85 has been installed. It still has the original 4-speed manual.
Driving down the road and saw one at a towing company!!! I willl make phone calls and get info this weekend. Looks to be a really good one...clean and drivable.
wow so I thought I posted my indy's info here, but I can't find it in the thread. guess it was another one. Tried to look on the pace car forum mentioned earlier, but I can't get on... 1G2AF37R0EP255792 Manual, sunroof, map pockets, Busted OD= 77,774... Did not work when I got it. Hampton, GA.
I think it was #770... can anyone verify??? How is this # figured out. Does it come off a master list?

how are you able to see the vin list? I have been trying for months and can't even get on w/o registering (which I thought I had already) but no one will approve my registration.
Thank you and 1G2AF37R4EP272854 is car # 1953. I added it to the official list at www.FieroPaceCar.com. I am seeing by the list that many of the last cars went to Canada and still reside there which is neat. Rick B
is there a spred sheet with a list of those already entered.. I mean mine might already be listed from the p/o I'll have to pull the reg. and type it in here..
Yes it is here www.FieroPaceCar.com but you have to join. I own the Manufactures list and own the Indy track cars list for all the cars used that month. When I had it open to public I was getting blasted with spam and **** . I really need to set down with my tech guy and have him put in some preventative stuff so I can open back up to public.
Updated Convertible06 at my site. I haven't updated this list in years and it would defeat my purpose of having a web page just for the Indy. Two list can get hard to keep up with. Rick B

SuperchargedV6... are you still doing VIN verifications? and do you have a list (or co-ordinated with a list) as to where these cars are? I'm looking at a car here in Alberta (Canada) that claims to be #1612, but it's a good hour's drive from me, and he's asking a fair bit for it considering the mileage (209,000km) and the fact that it needs a clutch... I've emailed him requesting the VIN for verification, waiting on a reply...

Found one in Tremonton, Utah in a junkyard (the owner of the yard owns the car). It's not being parted, but it probably should be. He wants $2,000 for it, it might be worth $500.
I think it had 130,000 miles on it. 4 speed. 1G2AF37R4EP269753
Can anybody help me with the VIN for my Indy? The admin at the pacecar site still hasn't accepted me after 5 days. My Indy's VIN is: 1G2AF37R6EP264660. Thanks! I'm trying to figure out which one mine is for a potential custom license plate.

I just made a post over there asking about it, hopefully you'll hear back soon. The admin over there, rborecky, hasn't posted since the 22nd, so he might just be busy.
I'm at work now but will dig it up and put it through when I get home. The issue most don't see is that I receive about 30 requests daily from phishing sights that have spammed some pretty bad stuff on my sight. I try to look them over and look at the email addy's to see if I think they are legit. Names like GGhhajdutn or 45ghty67dju6 for example got tossed as they are just like phishers names. Emails from known spam areas like Russia are tossed. It is getting tougher for me now with so many oddball email address coming out but I try to send a request asking if it is a real person.
I am sorry for the delay and hope you understand. I will go in right now and if you used the same name it will come up. I will put it through if so. Rick B
If you get a moment email me the name you registered under. I can pull it up through the program and put you through. This way I make sure I have the correct name. Thanks,Rick B
there is another one one town over,, sadly he's making a back to the future silver p.o.s. out of it.. I'm try'n to get ahold of the guy to see if I can get the indy call out that are on hood/fenders that he removed and hopefully didn't deep 6
my car was in N.H. thats where I got it

This vin is incorrect. Would it be 58 not 53 at the end??? Rick B
I purchased an Indy last week and registered on fieropacecar.com, but haven't yet been approved to access the site to check or enter my VIN# and update the location of the car. It says I'll get an email, but nothing yet. Is there something else I need to do to be able to log on?
Something had to be strange looking and I ignored it. I usually try to go through the multiple request and search out the real from the Phishers I get daily. I toss 100 for every real request I get sometimes more so it gets hard at times. I send out a confirmation email to try and make sure and passed yours by. Rborecky@roadrunner.com is my email for others with this problem. Hit me up with your name if you do not hear from me in a few days.
Animal I dug in and found your request. I think I mistaked your request for the Russian Phishers I get not realizing it was Roadrunner.. Sorry for the delay. Rick B
