My apologies if this question seems ignorant being said in a thread about chop tops but how much does something like that cost? I would like something like that done to my 87GT.

The process of doing a complete Chop Top conversion is very labor intensive and can be best broken down into three progressive steps.
Step #1 The Outside a) We remove your original top roof section, windshield and the top section of the rear clip. b) We support the Fiero chassis and cut, chop & section the original roof and reform the windshield mounting area. c) We cut and re-build the roof sections to reflect the new chopped roof line profile. d) We remove the original Fiero side windows and replace them with custom made Lexan parts. e) We remount the windshield and install the totally new rear window. f) We reinstall the newly modified rear clip and roof panel and trim parts. g) We make and install replacement Quarter windows (coupe or fastback)
Step #2 The Inside h) We totally remove ALL interior panels, carpet, seats, dash etc. i) We modify the interior "A" & "B" pillar trim pieces and reinstall them. j) We re-assemble the complete interior.
Step #3 The Finish k) We finish the exterior body work to where it is ready for final prep and paint. l) We re-paint the modified body pieces to the original colors.
(Complete paint jobs are available but not included in the following pricing.)
Pricing For the complete conversion (Steps #1, #2 & #3) Price By Quote Only* For conversion without paint (Steps #1 & #2) Price $ 4495.00 For the conversion to the top only (Step #1 you do the interior & paint at your leisure) Introductory Price $ 4095.00 * This price can vary depending on your paint choices.
The full process takes 3 to 4 weeks to complete and is by appointment only. You are urged to make your appointment early. We have limited capacity and a large demand. For an appointment or more information you can contact Archie by Email, Mail or Phone. We are quite excited about continuing this popular item and hope you are too.

Personaly i wouldent chop mine. The europa i just bought my head litterley rubs aganst the roof when i sit in it. And if i flip that car im dead.... Dont need that feeling in a fiero.
It is a very long story, but "SmoothGT" ended up in the crusher, without my knowledge. BUT, thats ok, next one will be better as the bar has been raised 3~4 levels while I was gone (5 years).
And worth every penny of it. Great service, great product, great guy, great glass , great staff. And the only person on this forum that has over 25 choptops to his name.
Ill be starting my chop top as soon as the snow melts and I can get my car outa storage its a 87 gt white, so far I have the Archie choptop kit and rockers purchased.

Ill be starting my choptop as soon as the snow melts and I can get my car outa storage its a 87 gt white w gray trim right now I plan on doing a two tone white on bottom with black top, so far I have the Archie choptop kit and rockers purchaced I plan on possibly geting one of the v fiber front and rear bumpers style #1 to go with it all as time goes on I plan on having it choped in time for the dells show.
this is how the paint will be sorta
I like that paint scheme. I'd post up my choptop (procured from F355) but I'm using my phone. I'll try to get a link from Photobucket if I can do it on here. If not, refer to my avatar.
Edit - hopefully this works...

This was my favorite configuration of the short bus. (minus the rear wheel gap, but that was done soon after IIRC).
Shouldn't there be a few more of the cars from Dean's shop in be in this thread? And I'll let jetsnvettes take the honor of posting his chopper as well!
I agree that more chop tops should be listed. I also think that Dean’s chop tops need to be listed under Whodeanie’s instead of homebrewed.
I think mine is Whodeanie's # 3 or 4 but not 100% on those numbers until I talk to Dean.
I started this thread as a way of keeping up with all the chop tops... I intended for the owners to keep it updated so if you have a choptop, homebrewed or otherwise, please post it.
Curley is the one that is enamored with the numbering system, so I'll let him chime in. But you could have A1, A2, for Archie, W1, W2, for Whodeanine, H1, H2, if you wielded the saw yourself. It really doesn't matter as long as you post it and enjoy your car.
