Today they worked on my Fiero and discovered the rear lower frame rails are so far gone around the rear cradle bolts that they may not be able to put the car back together...
I went to a pick and pull yard and got a GT spoiler, leather wheel (in brand new shape), a top of the line radio (for 1986), shifter console, airconditioning control module for under $100.00!!! I had to take the t-top out to fit the spoiler for the drive home! The radio works and so does the air condition module too--last week I got the leather gear shift knob, headlight door and drivers tail light cover. Restoration to start this summer Pat Jones
Picked up another one for my collection. 1 for the wife, 3 for me . This one is an 85 4cyl, 5 speed no power options. It's rough but I think I can get it going.

Got my 12 inch corvette rotor upgrade installed. I'd like to thank fierofan25 for the brackets and fieroguru for the rear hub that I used for drilling the rotors.
Replaced the 87 oil sending unit with the 88 style, replaced the rotor in the distributor. Everything else looks good for the Dells trip. Filled the tank with some 89 octane (the station was out of 87 octane). First gas since since June of last year.

my rear struts (Koni) came in, getting them ready for for coil over. Got my rear brake pads in (BP-10's this time...), installing them this weekend... Also got new skins (tires) on my wheels.
Been 10 years since I have had to do struts and shocks to the fiero... Tires are a 15,000 mile expense...
went to pick and pull got new tan and brown gt dash, door map pockets, rear firewall cover (the fuzzy stuff), seat belts and latches all in tan as I am changing my interior color and a clean unblemished quarter window all under 70.00! Pat Jones
Changed the fuel filter, the spark plugs and spark plug wires. Removed and rebuilt the distributor then set the base timing. Now lets see how it acts. Tired very tired.
Tried to fix some stone chips with http://drcolorchip.com/ . Doesn't work quite as nice as advertised.
Washed and waxed the 87 GT, check the tire air pressure (25 psi cold) refilled to 31 psi. Cleaned the lace wheels (still a PITA) and sprayed the tires with some tire back to black. Looking good for the Dells trip.

The paint doesn't fill in the chips very well. The directions are simple. Clean the wax/dirt from the area, dab the paint into the chip, then quickly wipe the surface with the side of your thumb or "flat edge". Wiping the surface with your thumb, just pulls the paint from the chip and smears the excess across the surface.. I had to get some swirl remover to clean up the smear and repolish the area.
Today I started the Indy and let it run a bit. I went to drive it around the block and as soon as I hit brake pedal it went right to the floor. Another rusty broken brake line. Just ordered a complete line set from the Fiero store.
Today I mounted the Camera mount to the lower front fender of the car and filmed a run down the Great River Road, along the West Bank of the Mississippi River in Minneapolis. Video is compiling now (1080p), and will be on Youtube as soon as it finishes. Screenshot included.
Actually yesterday. Wife was out of town, so, got a battery in the '88GT, put in plugs and an oxygen sensor, changed oil, got it through DEO, and registered it. Yah, it's legal. Got the garage cleaned out, Goldwing running and registered, TDC out of storage and on to the engine stand, and hung a couple of parts on the 3.2 on the cradle stand.
Finally got the DOHC swap started AND running. Had several failed start attempts and discovered a bad fuel pump (should have put a new one in when the tank was out ). Runs great with a new pump. Now I need to get it out of the barn and get the computer all learned up and cool with it's new life.
I have 2.5" exhaust with a Spintech and factory tips. It's freakin' loud.
This was on Friday, but I took my 88 GT to a Cruise-In in Mooresville, Indiana where there was at least 200 classic and custom cars as well as some new Corvettes, Camaros and Chargers. Hope I don't offend anyone here, but I don't go to car shows to see vehicles that I can see at a dealership. I had the only Fiero and it received a lot of attention. It's an 'every Friday" event during the warmer months and always draws big crowds.

Was out at a local outdoor shopping center a couple of weeks ago and they had the roads that go in a big circle through the stores closed off for a car show. We were there early in the day and not all the cars were there but it looked like a Chevy/Ford sales event more than a car show. Almost 75% of the cars there were brand new Mustangs, Camaro's and Corvette's. We only walked half the area they had for cars and saw less than a dozen cars you would expect to see at a car show. We were not very impressed.
