Listened to more lies from West Coast Fiero about my F-40 conversion kit he markets. Chris was more than happy to charge us up front nearly 3 months ago and charge extra for a dual disk clutch and promised a 3 week turn-around, but here we are a week and a half from August and all we received a few weeks ago were brackets and cables. I've been getting promised "it will be ready in a few days"...then it turns into next week....and so on. Anyone else see the pattern here? I heard these kinds of BS promises from someone else before (Loyde). I thought WCF was alot more reputable and reliable than that. Apparently I was wrong.
Added my second seat cover from wally world! Cheap seat covers, but they look nice, till I can afford something better! I got the ostrich skin, the color is good with the tan interior.
The coolant pipes on my sons 86 gt fell down so I came up with a low cost temp fix. 1 1/4 inch one hole emt conduit strap . I know the Fiero store sells replacement parts but in a hurry and for .70 cents it will work ( besides the car needs a ton of work )

I removed the tail lights from my Fiero today and wired the incandescent pigtails back in. I then ran some VHT Nightshades across the new tail lights, and installed...
Back to regular lamps for now while I rebuild the LED arrays with all new hardware.
Pushed it out of the shop and covered it up to protect it from the sun while I work on my machine.... Got some delrin for the door hinge rollers now. Gonna whip up a few tonight if I can get a chance.
put ply wood under the car, and got the engine lined up with the car and ready to go back in. to bad the Kendallville car show was held today Well maybe next year
Yesterday and today I rebuilt the headlights.one side, the passenger side was almost dust and the driver side looked new. At almost 100 degrees in my garage it took 10 hrs with a fan too. New paint and polished assembled and adjusted. All to replace 6 little nylon dowls. Thay work now and I think I lost 5 lbs . Bike ride tomorowin the heat, nothing like sitting on your engine.
Changed the oil and filter today then I put on the extra set of decklid vents that I had painted to match the car. Now I have to decide if I like them better than the black ones. If i do, I'll add a black screen to the bottom side of the vents.
Today I took my cradle and knocked off some surface rust with wire wheel and hit it with some paint over rust primer. My wife took a wire brush to her trans to clean some dirt the pressure washer didn't get to. After that we put her engine on a stand and loaded it in the truck to go have it cleaned up.
Got to use the paint booth at the dealership. Painted my Fiero yellow yesterday. First time using a lacquer base/clear. I've sprayed a couple with urethane base/clear and they turned out great. In a couple weeks will wet sand and buff/polish. Hope that's the key.
Thought I'd go ahead and post some pics of my 88 duke as well since I got her all cleaned up and ready for some road time...
I've rebuilt the top end twice and have replaced all the ignition, sensors, cleaned and painted the motor, put poly dog bone mounts, completely rebuilt the head and just generally cleaned up the whole engine bay. I've also rebuilt the headlight motors, completely replaced the exhaust from manifold to tips, replaced the inner and outer dew wipes, redone the headliner, replaced the speakers and speaker mesh throughout, replaced the seats with 86 GT leather/suede ones, cleaned and glued all the interior trim, replaced the tape with a newer Pontiac CD player, short shifter installed, new Fiero Thomas e-brake and shifter covers, custom painted fiero door logos, shampooed the carpets, replaced the back firewall fuzz with black vinyl, and upgraded to formula wheels and Goodyear GT II tires.
She still needs body work, but she ain't too bad for where she's been. Just over 106K on the clock.

i installed new trans mounts and a engine mount too. i found my oil filter loose, oil all over. it took 7 hrs., i guess i could say i am not fast but i am steady. it was not much fun. i was covered in grease from head to toe the car does drive nice.
-Found a fiero in the junkyard and pulled and installed the 2nd gen headlights and harness into my 86, total cost was around $100 and it works perfect! -o2 sensor
Over the weekend we got the cradle painted, 5speed mated to the 4cyl, new trans and motor mounts. Axles in place just need to torque them down. Changed out the water pump, plugs, wires, dist/rotor cap, solenoid, and exhaust manifold. Probably a few other things I am leaving out.
I picked up my 42 degree A/C blowing Fiero from Wolf Creek Automotive today. It has not had a functional air conditioner the entire time I have owned it until today. I've missed it while it was away but it was so worth it.
After i brought it home it got a nice bath today. Wax and vacuuming tomorrow. I love having it back in my garage again.
The only Fieros I touched today were in a paint program. I wish that I had "real world" skills, but every time I do something on my Fiero I'm reminded that life doesn't have an undo button.
I replaced the nonfunctional lighter with a aftermaket power outlet I took out of my 69 Baja. Now I can use my GPS. I also tested my CD player. It works.
Reinstalled the rear trunk carpet, cleaned out the front trunk area and waxed the underside of the front hood to bring the color back. I also cleaned the tires to make the white brighter on the goodyear .
Installed a new radio and faceplate to go with the new Rodney Dickman rear speakers. I also got the factory sub working (it hasn't since I got the car) but I may upgrade to the Rodney version soon. I think the old one is tired.
Got my transmission linkage adjust since I could never get into 3rd or 4th, freed up the throttle cable, put the deck lid on, put the interior back together, and did a lot of sanding on my hood, fender, bumper.
I raced it! The slip is cut in half because it was gamblers grudge match racing, they were keeping the times private and only announcing the winners. I was only able to get one run in. The top speed didn't register right for some reason, it was around 95 MPH, but I'm sure the time is right.
