Started stripping parts from an 84SE that was my daily driver for many years up till 2000, it's been sitting here since, engine and trans are dead. I had put poly and lowered springs on that car and I am moving them over to my 85GT
Plan on stripping more parts off this car before it goes to the yard.
Drove it, gassed it, and it stalled again. Limped it home and I'm calling it quits before I run out of money for X-mas gifts... pretty certain it's TCC solenoid. Will revisit it again in February and try Detroit again, then.
Gen 1 to Gen 2 headlight wire and motor conversion. It's in a kit so not just "plug and play” pain in the a$$ but worth it in the end. Only problem is no power to the horns and the fuse is good and one of the high dollar parking light turn signal assembly’s is a mess. Time to trace electrical gremlins.
Broke the VSS gear off inside the transmission as I drove trhough Waconia. Made it home to Bloomington with no speedo before digging into it and finding the problem. Couldn't fish the gear out and it looks like its already been obliterated. I guess this may force me to make a decision on how to get a better cruising gear!
Since we had a crazy warm day here in Michigan I figured I'd do a few things. I pretty much took apart about 70% of my interior. Since i bought this car this spring I've needed to give it a good deep cleaning and replace a few damaged parts. Looking to do more tomorrow.
Posted a day late. Put my stock wheels back on. My winter car's head gasket is blown. I may need to start driving the Fiero to work and back unless I can get another winter beater quickly.
Ball joint grease boots, every thing cleaned and painted. Waiting for new bearing, both sides..it will be good for now, after march I will take the hole front end apart for all new rubber parts. It will be cleaner next time I work on it. 3 rolls of paper towels and a half a box of gloves. My back has had enough ,wheel bearings tomorrow.
After a Freak snow storm... actually a "Thundersnow", snowed during a thunderstorm... weird and unexpected. (we don't get much of a winter here) So, what did I do to my fiero today.... Brushed the damn snow off my car ! (all the snow was gone that evening)
I replaced the radio with another stock GM unit and replaced the blown Kenwood 10x4 speakers in the dash with new mylar coned 10x4's Legacy speakers that are supposed to handle 300w
found the loose wire that had shut down my aux gauges and exchanged the ICM looking for my phantom miss. no joy but at least i know another thing that it isn't :-)
Well we had a good meet with AAFO today. Becca and I made it to the meeting a few minutes late but we did make it and brought F255spider with us. Did a little work on the Fiero this morning and it made the trip there and back with no problems. 1. Tightened up the belt. 2. Fixed the coolant leak at the water pump (loose bolts and or hose clamp) 3. Wiped the oil off of the top of the valve cover and tightened down the bolts. They had loosened up a bit. 4. The engine has had problems with the PCV valve leaking at the valve cover. To fix this I modified the setup from the 88. It used a metal tube instead of a rubber hose so I cut them both and spliced them together. Had to bend the metal tube a bit to get the correct angle and used the grommet off of the 88 valve cover because they were different sizes.
On the round trip to San Antonio and back No Leaks!! Now lets hope it stops leaking into the breather!!!
And yesterday I picked up an 86 GT. Hopefully I will have it on the road here soon. It was a fellow club members daily driver until his son wrecked it.

I went to a junkyard an picked up a spare trunk deck with wing for $125. Mine doesnt have a wing but I'm thinking at some point I might want to rock that look. So when I have my car painted, I'm going to drop off the deck lid too and have them paint it. I like being able to have the option of the wing with out having to drill into my original one!
I also picked up a pair of uncracked GT tail lights for $30. Some bad delamination but nothing that cant be fixed by IMSA's technique. I feel better knowing I have a backup pair!

I'm jealous beyond all possible means. If I hear about how much fun you're having in your Fiero again, I'm going to cry so hard I'll throw up...
Today, I replaced the trashed sun visors with a deluxe pair that I have had for a while. I also tried to put the inside mirror, but the glue wouldn't stick to the windshield. I tried the mirror glue from lock-tite and super-glue, and neither would hold the mount to the window.
Had to take my car out of hibernation to jump start my wifes 99 dodge van to drive 10 miles to replace the alternator and battery in my 95 sunfire . all during a 4 inch snow storm I love being broke
