Looks like a great event! Some MR2s, a BRZ, just maybe a bit short track distance. I do hope you went and smacked that announcer for the "salvage yard" comment.

Nah, the Announcer drives a 1976 BMW 2002. It's all in fun.
This months addition was new F7 Sport Edition 17" wheels. The specs are 35mm offset, 7.5" wide x 17" diam . Tires are 225 x45 x 17 rear and 205 x45 x17 front. They fit perfectly without any interference. I do notice a slightly harder ride over rough sections of roadway but handling was improved. The KYB shocks/struts and rebuilt suspension are really adding to the driving enjoyment. Here they are on the streets of New Hope PA. yesterday. Please excuse the poor cell phone picture resolution

Drove it down to Park Ridge for what turned out to be nothing, got complimented by a Morton Grove cop, and got home in time to get my new radio from the mail.
Washed it. Cleaned up the engine a little bit and changed some vacuum lines. Still trying to get the boost controller adjusted properly. 20psi at WOT is a little too much..
Yesterday I changed the oil and filters, but, today, I replaced a corroded and loose connector on the start wire to the starter. I hope that cures a hot start problem I have been having. I also replace the third brake lamp with an LED lamp. The heat from the original bulb blistered the plastic housing and caused a stink from the melting plastic.
Clayed, cut, and waxed exterior. Removed antenna as I should be getting the new one tomorrow. Replaced all emblems. Shipped back a radio I tested last night that unfortunately didn't work out. Changed tags over to the expanded antique plates.

-Had a shop heat-up the exhaust plumbing and bend it with a prybar a bit to stop it from rubbing against the oil pan; now has a couple inches clearance and doesn't affect exhaust flow. They also tightened a couple of coolant hose clamps to stop some seepage. -Kept hearing a loud rattle when shifting into reverse - turns out I didn't tighten the rear-end dogbone bolt when I installed the new forward dogbone bracket. -Replaced front Pontiac logo plate (old one was dented and scuffed-up) -Scrubbed driver-side floormat (still looking for replacement) -Took a wire brush on a cordless drill to misc. silver parts under the hood and decklid and polished them up.

It may look nice but these license plate frames are illegal in NJ and NY as they block part of the plate. You might get a ticket because of it. Better just to put a Turbo decal or nameplate on the deck lid.

When are they just going to go to 100% bar codes and drop that big @ss plate...here in TX the police vehicles all have scanners that scan the registration sticker and or plates bar code. Sounds like we need a petition started...lol!
Changed the plugs, wires, installed a completely new distributor, MSD coil, PCV valve, air and charcoal filters, gas cap and converted the PCV intake plumbing to the factory retrofit style; all in preparation for my new CA STAR program smog check! Also installed the recall weatherstrip finally since I had the decklid off to changwe the plugs. Runs great now. More power and the hesitation and stumbling I had below 1500 rpm in any gear is gone. And as an added bonus, my bouncing tach is now rock solid!
Finally........10 months after painting it in a base/clear yellow lacquer. Got some time on the weekend to start wet sanding/compounding/polishing. Starting to shine up r-e-a-l-l-y nice. May have to repaint the hood, but that's okay. Thanx for the tips/how to's Roger G.
Worked on my Father's 87 GT today. Silverstar Headlights and Steering Stabilizer.
Put KYB Shocks, repacked the front wheel bearings and installed Silverstar Headlights in my 87 GT yesterday....
Made Dew Wipes earlier this week for my Father's car with raw windowseal material we bought and then installed the hardware from the beat up ones onto them. Came out great.
Today I installed my poly transmission mounts and rerouted the oil return hose for the turbo. The engine doesn't shift around at all now with poly mounts on everything.
Drove my Fiero to the Target department store that just opened yesterday. It's a big deal because there aren't very many Target stores in Canada. But a look in the toys section and I found a flawed Hot Wheel, but bought it anyways. Can you spot the flaw?
Instead of driving the just acquired 54k mi Indy 4sp from Sacramento to St. Louis, I parked it in my Dad's back yard, covered it up and will take Amtrak back. Heck, just married my sweetie and she is here, so the Indy can be the "here" car.
