I put the batteries back in both cars. Started both of them for the first time this spring. I changed the oil in the GT. I'll do the same with the Formula next weekend.
cavalier rear breaks yesterday...much better than th Fiero brakes. Finishing the job with new hubs and cav calipers in the front along with a blazer mc, and a complete flush when it gets warmer
I finally have four matching tires for my Fiero and they are all rotating in the correct direction (directional tires) it's only been FIVE years. Huzaa!
Pulled my gauge pod apart again for the third time to try and get a new temp/fuel gauge to work right. It does now. Now I have the itch to fix her up some more. Daily drivers.....the wear and tear really does it's toll.
Trailered her to alignment shop trailered her back home. Unloaded her. Drove her for the first time since the 383 swap that took just over a year. Ran out of road before i ran out of gears. Realized I do need bigger brakes now.
Since it was raining but we're in the middle of a drought (so no car washing allowed) used the rain water to wash all the ruddy pollen of the cars! I hate allergy season
I finished installing my rebuilt Getrag 5-speed from Man-Trans, and took it for a shakedown cruise (to the Central Florida Fieros club meeting). The transmission passed with flying colors.
First, glued the shitty Fiero Store clear corner lights back together for Pop's car Brand new, went to put 'em in, they fell apart. When the lenses were assembled, they didn't remove the chrome plate where the glue goes, so it didn't stick.
Second, I started on the Indy. Installing rebuilt front calipers, new (Grand Am rear calipers, new rotors, new pads, etc). Also removed decklid vent and side panels for paint, rubbed out a few imprerfections, got the car ready to go out for a pro detailing, removed everything to begin underhood clean up, etc.
(Two of three Fieros visible in this pic)

I pulled the GT out of the garage, and gave it a well deserved washing. I had to drive home from the Omaha WOW show in the rain, and it got a bit dirty. All cleaned up now, and tucked back into the garage with the cover on it.
I put the removable steering wheel on the race car then sat in it and made motor noises. We've been working on one final, last that's it I'm done, modification to the trailer before race season, putting a sliding step on under the walk in door. You can step in that 22" a time or two, but if you do it all day at the track, you get worn out by afternoon.

Just finished re-covering the speaker grills - a fairly easy, if fiddly job:
Start with one of these, and carefully cut the old cloth away where it is glued down on the back.
This is what you end up with.
Cut your new cloth, lay it on the grill, and carefully glue it down - I used ordinary wood glue for this, as it's pretty easy to work with; Apply sparingly, as too much can darken the material.
I used masking tape to hold the material down while it dried.
Once dry (I left it overnight) remove the masking tape, carefully, as you can easily pull the cloth off the grill - the glue can be a bit fragile.
And this is what it looks like, back where it belongs.
Will also wash and polish the car, as I will be going to Goodwood Race Circuit tomorrow morning for the Modern Sports Car Legends breakfast meet (http://www.goodwood.co.uk/breakfastclub/) - I can probably be safe in saying that mine will be the only Fiero there!!
i too have had to reglue the lenses back into those clear front marker lights...i thought i had just bad luck when one fell out and i lost it...buy a set of kmunsons tinted covers..they hold the lenses in even if they do come apart...lol...tim
Today I installed a new intercooler shroud/fan I fabricated. Before the intercooler was visable and get damaned it is now fully covered. Also with fan placed on top it works better. ite shroud if a little higher then the intercooler and thus makes a high pressure area over the whole unit instead of only below the fan. After passing through the intercooler the air flows over the trubo. Some may not like the exposed fan, but I'm more into function than form.
Removed the "Show Car" sticker from the Daytona show and cleaned the glass with the "Invisible Glass" samples that came in the goodie bags handed out.
Replaced the rear decklid release switch that broke at Daytona last week. (Only Fiero Store part I've ever bought that I consider to be crap), still looking for an OEM switch...
Applied some Lexol on all the leather and dash surfaces.
Tried out the new metal polish I bought at Daytona...Works better than my trusty old Wenol in the tube! Nice stuff.
Bought a new brake master cylinder and 4 new brake hoses.
shortened the wires that run to the ecm in the center console for my 3800 swap, i really wish i would have had some pictures of before, because it looks almost professional now.
cleaned up the rest of the broken glass from the break in and tried to troubleshoot some suspension noise that's been plaguing me, but I couldn't solve that.
