Yesterday, I sent a 7730 ECM off to Ryan at Sinister Performance, to be reprogrammed to work in my Fiero. I've had enough of this stupid stock V6 computer.

Just took the dash out... in preparation for taking the (bent) clutch pedal out. Just discovered why the driver's front dash speaker doesn't work - THERE ISN'T ONE!!! LOL But for some reason all the screws are still there... the mysteries of this car just continue.

Finished doing the CAD work for the new rear tie rod end inner pick-up points so we can test the new design on the hoist with a bump steer gauge. Worked on a parts list and initial drawings to add coil over's to the front suspension. Plasma cut out the stock front motor mount of the cradle and laying out the tubing to be welded in for the Northstar. Still debating about which transmission to put back in the race car....................................................

I thought about it. I am on the road away from home. I miss it.
I also have a lot to do to get us ready for the Red River Ruckus.

Replaced all the hardware on the sunroof (or "Vista Vent" as the service manual calls it), found the Fiero Store had sent incorrect hardware and a gasket that has too much slack on one edge...so it looks horrible but it works for now. I'm still going to have to replace it. Also, be careful, the replacement tabs they sent me were plastic coated, nice, but when I accidentally scraped one I discovered that under the plastic they were as rusty and bad as the old ones. I'm going to have to consider very carefully before buying from them again...right royally ticked at them right now. They sent incorrect length nuts for the outside so I had to go out and buy longer screws as well.

I found out my clutch slave cylinder is rusted solid. Hmmm... maybe that's why the P/O bent the old clutch pedal!!! So tomorrow I will go buy some PB Blaster, and order a new slave cylinder. The fun never stops!

Here is what we have done today. The wing is mostly done. Here is the plan. All the parts that I can will be painted off the car. Then wetsanded to get rid of the orange peal and then after all the body has been painted once then I will paint one more time with all the panels on the car. This will help balance the pearl that is in the paint. There are dark spots here and there. So here we go with the job today

Here is the wing

Here we have the vents and the two trim pieces on each side. I do not know what the spots are in the photo but they are not on the paint. The inner sails were painted as well.

Here is the car going back together.

Here you can see that the cowl was painted on the car. I still have to line everything up still.

And here is how she will sit till next week. I have the black sprayed on the front bumper already. I fixed the cracks and still have to sand somemore.

Here is my helper for the day. Note the dog is eating out of his make shift hat. Yes he had a GOOD shower already!!!!!!!!!!!

That is all for now. How we looking??

I removed the dash, removed the brake booster and master cylinder, and the complete heater box assembly. I also installed the compleat AC air box and the top part of the defrost ducting. Cleaned the newer dash to go back in , and painted the top grill work of the defroster.
More tomorrow.

Used a leaf blower to get all the leaves out of the vents and nooks and crannies. I was helping some old friends of mine move yesterday- what a beautiful day! When I got back to the car, I had left my windows down and it was littered with big oak and maple leaves inside and out. If that was all the litter that the world ever saw, that would be a great thing.

today i finally dug through the turbo kit i bought from RUNDLC. it's pretty complete, and the mspaint instructions he made are nicely done . i was worried but the chip though, but when i took a look at it i saw it was a sinister performance chip so now i'm not as worried. CanTexIndy you should hella take some pics of your car @ the dealer and post em here that'd be tight! when i picked my car up from John Hine Pontiac at the beginning of the month (ignition broke by illegals @ the car wash in SD) i walked around the showroom floor and thought how awesome it'd be to see a fiero out here just for kicks. i apologize in advance for using my norcal jargon on you folks.

Today I installed a new JVC deck and speakers, and gave the car a good wash, and pulled out MOST of the leaves. Jeesh, this thing looks like the inside af a yard vac! Did this guy used to store leaves in it, for some reason?? (Answer: no, that's just what happens when you store it outside for 3 years.)

Tomorrow, hopefully, new clutch slave cylinder.

actually yeaterday, i finished a pair of rolling jack stands and tried them on my chopper. wish i had thought of it sooner. now that i have a pretty good sized garage i still didn't want to take it apart much 'cause i knew it would sit unassembled for a while blocking things, but now i can take the rear suspension apart and start working on the 115mm pattern swap and still roll the car around some till i get it done. that also means if i get the pattern swap done i can experiment with the wider wheels i have and maybe get back to experimenting on how much to widen the body.

Mounted the dash in the car yesterday, and the gauges speedo etc. Today I hard mounted the AC lines underneath the car. Mounted the condenser in front of the rad. Wired in all of the wires for the factory AC to work. Hot in the garage again.

Talked to the body shop that has my 1985 under a full body restoration! Its ready to go with a brand new high dollar original color repaint. I have barely driven it since a fiero factory 4.9 conversion, all new brakes lines etc, new suspension etc. The shop also threw in a real nice window tint! I Get it in time for the central Kentucky fiero gathering at blackrams on saturday. Car sat for about 10 years before that and it was my first car and bought it new in 1985. Will post photos later!
