Finished installing hoses and pipes in the engine bay and drilled out a broken exhaust flange bolt. One more broken exhaust bolt to fix and I'll be ready to get the cradle back in!

I've been driving the GT back and forth to work for the last couple of weeks with no problems. Put almost 1000 miles on the GT since it's been back on the road, it feels really good to have it on the road and running. I've had alot of compliments on the car from people I work with.
I've taken the clover leaf on ramp onto I-270 at Route 3 in ILL at around 70 MPH and it holds to the road nice and flat. The suspension is stiff, but thats the way I wanted it for some AutoX or eventually some SCCA courses.

Well, I didn't do it, the fine folks at Anderson Automotive here in Byron, IL did it for me. But just got new front shocks (replaced the 22 year-old originals), new front swaybar end-links (both were broken), and replaced the rear wheel bearing that was shot. WOW! I can actually hit a bump and not feel a jolt now. And it doesn't vibrate at highway speed anymore. I think I am going out on a joyride...talk to you guys later!

I replaced another faulty lifter. This is the 5th lifter that has failed since I installed the new engine. And the engine only has 3700 miles on it.
This is also the first time I've used a Crane Cams product in an engine (which happens to be the lifters). The chance of me buying anything else from Crane Cams just dropped to "slim to none".
Didin't get two miles down the road before the "Made in China" rear wheel bearing assy. failed. Went back to the shop, they put the old one back on. back to O'Reilly, returned the bad one. They don't carry any other brand, and I am not going to buy the same inferior part again, so now to figure out what brand from which store.

Replaced the fuel pump in Indy #1, and messed around with the wiring on Indy #2. #1 is now purring like a kitten. still need to go over it though the fan will not kick on unless i turn on the AC.
Finally got the 88 coupe back on the road....had the clutch master and slave cylinders installed...thanks to Gary Bulpin....
Did you use Rodney's new slave? Frank is planning a tech session at his place next month on my 87 GT to replace its slave and master.
A side note, replaced the new ignition module on my 88 after 200 miles, with an old module carried as a spare up in Daytona at the Dream Cruise. The old module, may be eight or more years old.

Tried to do the EGR tube gasket but those damn bolts were too rusted. Took it to a shop and it turns out all three gaskets on the EGR valve base were shot. Valve is also leaking. Had to get the EGR valve gasket and the EGR valve base gasket made, nobody carries them.
Runs alot smoother now! It got a wash as well.

I put the cover on it, to be parked for possibly a very long time. I'm tired of the constant problems and the expense. I fixed the pickup truck, so that's my daily driver now, and I will probably put the Fiero in the Mall soon.
Put 4inch speakers in my headrests! All 8 speakers have been replaced now! The hearest speakers were never replaced! Next to find a decent radio / stereo for the car. I'll be looking for a factory cd player.
Gave it an oilchange yesterday, and finally got around to changing the broken tail pipe hanger, on the drivers side. both tailpipes are now level again.
Took it off jackstands (it has been sitting for at least six months), charged the battery, started her and let her idle long enough to get up to tem and sit there for ten minutes. Then I wiped her down real good. Was going to drive her to work, but the clouds rolled in and it looks like rain - maybe tomorrow.

Hidden treasures eh? I found a diamond ring underneath my driver's side seat. Six tiny diamonds with a 24k gold band. Mom made me return it to the owner.
