Drove to and from work and started hearing unusual noises coming from the just-rebuilt transmission, if I sit in drive with the brakes applied, the best I can describe it is it sounds like a "rubbing" noise.

Replaced the EGR solenoid. Maybe my code 32 will now be a thing of the past...

But the tachometer stopped working - time for a new tech filter (again)!

Went for a drive. When I got back, there was a group of teen age guys walking down the street. One of them yelled "VROOM VROOM" at me when I drove by. I pushed in the clutch and blipped the throttle twice. He got his VROOM VROOM, and smiled. Glad I could entertain them.

    1. Cleaned off the 3-year layer of crap that had accumulated on it.
    2. Stripped a few wiring harnesses.
    3. Got pissed because the guy I bought my '87-'88 headlight conversion from "forgot" the control box.
    4. Ordered a clutch.
    5. Ordered some 1/8" aluminum sheet and 1/4" ABS to make some random stuff out of.
    6. Realized I'll never finish it.

Just about sums it up. Tomorrow (today?) I have a lot more stuff to order and a lot more phone calls to make. I really need to make a to-do list, so I can finally get this thing running. I miss it so much.

Drove her again of course...

Also ordered some more parts for the steering column/wheel swaps. GM only sells the airbag covers with the airbag unfortunately... and the dealer's price... $840. No thanks. Looks like I'll be scouring eBay for one of those too... Got a set of Grand Prix keys on the way, with ignition, door, and glove box lock cylinders... Think I might put a locked glove box in with the interior swap, just so I can use the lock.

I also ordered a couple of new Pontiac emblems for the trunk/hood of the newer cars. Trunk emblem doesn't really have a spot to go with the stock tail lights, but... I'm going to 'modernize' those as well.

Ripped out the driver's side of my interior in preperation for sound deadening, new carpet, amp, under-dash sub, new head unit, and new center console skeleton.

Tomorrow I will rip out the passenger side and the dash. From there it's cleaning up the floor, sorting up some wiring, and then it's time to reassemble! I hope to get it done by the end of the month.

Replaced the battery. The ole Optima died so got a new one. Installed one number colder spark plugs to see if it will cure the weird spark knock so I can run either 89 or 87 octane on a stock 2.5.

Its finally Spring in Western Washington, it was 70 here today so I opened the sunroof put the windows down and drove her. Ran great and was a blast to drive!

I washed her the other day and took some photos thought i might share them.

I finally got the rest of the interior out today. It looks like my Fiero threw-up it's interior all over the garage floor. I need to take a picture. I also wired up a new stereo harness. Tomorrow I start organizing all the wiring and hopefully I'll get the subwoofer enclosure test-fitted.

Figured out on Saturday why little car was running like crud . Clogged cat. Sooo, since we're short on cash and I still need a running car to get around, my dad hollowed out the cat. Pretty loud.... but I'd be lying if I said I didn't enjoy how good he's running... today was a fun day for driving around and having people hear me before they see me :P

Got the 2M8 up on stands.....went for a nice long drive with Katatak and the guys on Saturday, got home, wouldn't crank over. Starter gear appears to be jammed. Will get it apart after work on Monday.....should be 75 degrees which is good since I can't get it into the garage (blocking a full bay). Always something.....

Well, apparently the e-brake is sticking on the driver side. Last tank of gas got me about 12mpg (if that much), and it smells like really hot brakes when I get out of the car. Guess she's down for the count, until I can get the back end in the air, and the tires off, to see what's binding. Luckily, I already have a brand new set of e-brake cables sitting in the garage if I need to replace them. Sadly I don't also have new brakes, rotors, calipers, Vette hubs, and Z06 wheels/tires to do that upgrade also. This would be a good excuse to do those upgrades, since I'm going to need them when I go to drop the LS4 in.

Took a vacation day, since it was nice and pulled the Fiero out of the garage to take a short spin around the neighborhood. The plan was to change the oil in the lawn mower and I needed to get the Fiero out of the way. Ended up taking a drive up to Erie, PA. Got to Erie and it felt so good I took a right and ended up in Buffalo, NY. Stopped by Bocci's Pizza on Baily Avenue, not too far from University of Buffalo, and picked up two half baked pizzas. Stopped by the Anchor Bar for a lunch of wings. (Buffalo Chicken wings were "invented" there) As I started to drive back to Pittsburgh I called home to let them know I had made a short trip to Buffalo to pick up pizza for dinner. They thought I was nuts. Wonderful day, about 450 miles, no problems, 28 mpg and lots of waves and thumbs up. I figured the lawn mower could wait. And, the pizza was great. A good excuse for a drive, don't you think?

I tried to put the GT muffler on my 88 Coupe today and it's still off by a hair...well it fits fine but I can't hold the muffler at the right angle and weld at the same time. lol
maybe tomorrow I'll have better luck.

Got to Erie and it felt so good I took a right and ended up in Buffalo, NY. Stopped by Bocci's Pizza on Baily Avenue, not too far from University of Buffalo, and picked up two half baked pizzas. They thought I was nuts. Wonderful day, about 450 miles, no problems, 28 mpg and lots of waves and thumbs up. I figured the lawn mower could wait. And, the pizza was great. A good excuse for a drive, don't you think?

GOOD FOR YOU.....NOW THAT'S FIERO FUN ! ! !

Ordered Dew Wipes from Stu today. Ship tomorrow....... I feel a bunch of work coming my way....

Today while driving around town, I turned the AC on and noticed it was not working very well. It would blow cold but it seemed like the pump was cycling. I picked up a can of 134 and hooked up the gauges. One can later and I get consistent 38 degree air while moving and sitting in traffic it averages 43 degrees. I can live with that. I also picked up a coule bottles of Synchromesh for the trans. I will drain the 5 speed this weekend and give her some fresh slick stuff. I found a Body Shop today that will repair and repaint my fubar'd rear bumper for 150.00 - that's cheaper than I can buy the material for so I'll be getting that done Monday.
