Fueled up and washed it, 35-degrees is warm enough for me. Between the wind and rain from yesterday I had tree crap all over the car. Installing new wipers next. Oil change Monday.

If by placement, you mean the position of the gear numberings in the shift gate, then definitely not. The position of the part of the shifter above the pivot point doesn't change. Lengthening the part below the pivot point also doesn't change any gear positions. What it does do, is reduce the amount of effort it takes to move the shifter into, or out of, a gear. Depending on the angle of the lower shifter, and the amount of increase in the length of the lower shifter, you might end up needing slightly longer shift cables, though.
Another thing that would reduce shift effort, is a newer transmission, which has a huge shift assembly with counterweights. The counterweights help by tending to 'pull' the gear selector; once the weight moves a certain amount.
Swapped one of my Formula's headlight motors for another one - decided that the replacement is even worse than the original, so have ordered a rebuild kit from Rodney...
Also, have worked out that the immobiliser/alarm is what is draining my battery overnight. Grrr...
Started adding the aux gauges to my 88 4.9 coupe that Katatak found for me in the junkyard on Saturday. Gotta do a little console skeleton repair while I'm in there too.

Drove it to church this morning, put on my rear Fiero Store sway bar, then drove back to church tonight for a test drive. It DEFINATELY helps the bump steer. I totally still need an alignment, though.
Finnished prepping the engine and trans for cradle removal..and for the 3rd day in a row soaked the front cradle bolts in PB Blaster to aid in removal...hope it helps!
Just drove it back from a weekend at Purdue, my Fiero's "maiden voyage". 250 miles without so much as a hiccup. Friday I got stuck in stop and go traffic on I-65 due to a car fire, and the Fiero didn't overheat or anything. Averaged 30mpg even on the trip.
Calculated my MPG.... currently at 14.8. That's about .5 better than before.... still no idea why it's getting such bad mileage. My dad who is a mechanic, his mechanic friend, and others have not been able to figure it out. :/
Finally figured out how to reprogram my Viper keyless entry system to NOT lock the doors automatically when the ignition key is turned on. Yes, I have shut the doors with the car running and windows up at least 3-4 times before finally fixing this little annoyance. Lucky I had the spare remote and another set of keys tucked away.

Haha. Having the sunroof popped up, and not entirely out can be a savior for times like that.

2.8? If so, I only get about 16 around town if I drive it hard, in a pretty flat area. If you're on hills, you'll obviously get less. Though I got a lot less on my last tank... My e-brake seems to be keeping the brake on the driver side a little closed. Enough to rub metal, and create friction to waste power, but not enough to stop the car from moving, or slowing down terribly. Needless to say, she's sitting in the garage until I can pull the wheel and brakes and see what's going wrong exactly.
