Bought a cheapo kit on eBay a couple months back. Just add inline wire taps to the power lock relay wiring up under the passengers dash (one for locking function, one for unlock) near the door frame, a tap into the trunk switch wiring, a tap into the parking light wiring, and add power. From start to finish with a clean install took about three hours. It's real nice to not have to fumble for the door key and get it in and out of the door locks anymore.

Well, looks like I will have to put the steering column swap on the back burner. One thing keeps leading to another with it, and I'm not ready to design and build the custom dash yet. Since the Caddy column doesn't have an ignition switch in it, or any room to mount a modern one under the plastic covering, and the modern GM ignition switches are gigantic with the lock cylinder, the passkey pieces, the switch, and such, I'd have to mount it in the dash or somewhere, and the stock Fiero setup doesn't have any room for it. I'd rather be able to drive it as much as I can with the summer heading in, while I get stuff ready to swap in, outside the car. I don't want to have it sitting, while I've got it torn apart and trying to get stuff sorted to swap in.
First things first, I need to get a jack long and flat enough to slide under my car far enough, to be able to reach the frame for jacking. The little 2 ton jack I got isn't low profile enough to go under the body panels, and is too short to reach the frame where I can get it under. And my roadside jack is busted, so can't use it. Hopefully I can get it lifed and the driver's side tire pulled off tomorrow or Saturday. And hopefully, it's not a locked up caliper.
let's see here i got my new tie rod end today, just put it in an greased it all up. Now she's nice and smooth ,still waiting on glass pack to get here, cant wait to get that on
Started detailing the the "new" Formula. Although it is remarkable shape with only 15, 200 miles on, it does need a good cleaning. I have been working on the front trunk and area for the last two days. I think I got behind every little nook and cranny against the firewall. I pulled the headlights and really did a number on them and the headlight bucket areas and wiring harnesses. After about four hours today, started on the engine compartment. Deck hinges, battery area, cruise servo.
So yesterday, I head out to Mall of America to meet my son, his best friend, and friend's dad for lunch. A "guys" lunch at Hooters! I took the dailey driver Formula. Get a thumbs up from an MNDOT worker parked alongside the freeway on the way there. So after running the NASCAR simulator, head out the the parking ramp. As I am walking up to the car, a lady is saying to her friend; "check this out. Does this bring back memories of being 16 again? I respond why thank you. The other one reponds. Is this your car? Yeah. "It is very good shape." Thank them again as theyre, loading up the SUV with the kids ands trollers.

Looks nice! What material did you use? I'm going to have to do mine soon, and have been thinking about going with perforated black pleather/vinyl/something. I also want to delete the interior third brake light though, and install an LED bar across the back of the roofline for it, sort of like how the Civic DelSol ones are.

dobey,
I went to a local fabric and foam store and bought it from them. Off the bulk rack! You can get similar material at PEP Boys! It's spendy there though. I paid 10.00 for more than enough to cover one headliner. Find a good fabric store or upholstery shop locally and they should have what you are looking for. Some of the Fiero vendors sell headliner material too. Good luck!
Pat
Edit to add: I got some more of my interior back in the V8 Coupe this afternoon - starting to look like a car again!
Got to vacuum that new carpet!

Pat yeah actually I am...I have a 3800 SC I am going to store back there for better weight LOL. You can see where I went from to where I am now at my build page:
Fixed my horn in my Yellow 88GT. (FYI it is under LHS or driver side.) Was just the connection was cruded up a bit. I will pull it and do a really good clean this weekend.

I finished putting a new water pump in my 87 GT. What a job! It doesn't look that hard but those small bolts under the pump, UNGHN!
It is times like these that I think about putting her up for sale...then after the test drive I forget all about it. Well at least until the next time.

Hey Chief...LTNS good to see you hanging around still.
Good to see you too Shelby. I have been busy adjusting to civilian life. I think I am getting the hang of it.
How are things in Arkansas? Are you going to the Fiero Factory Swap Meet at the end of the month? It would be good to meet you in person.
I plan to go on Saturday. I am close enough for a day trip now.
Can't make this one this year..we have 2 section chiefs on leave and I have wayyyy too many EPR's sitting on my desk LOL. Also I am going down to the San Antonio Round-Up because I have to pick up the Trans Am Dash harness from JScott (as well as pay him for it). When the Fiero is done I will bring it out to the Swap Meet next year.
Decreased the gap on my spark plugs then smiled like a little kid when the boost hit and my car didn't misfire. Took me a long time to figure out that the boost was blowing out the spark.
Oh and installed a new wiper switch, no more wipes when I turn on the blinker.
