Got the AC working again on the Formula - was a bad orifice tube? Replaed with a extreme duty variable unit - seems to be working well now.

Finished overhaul of my rear tail lights. Thanks IMSA. Not quite as nice as his but still better anyway. By the way the duplicolor clear doesn't do near as good a job as the stuff IMSA uses! Sanded some more on the car. Only have the bottom skirts left and the drivers door. Right now I'm gorilla glueing my shift surround. Been a pretty busy day. Batteries dead in the camera so I couldn't take pics of progress.

------------------

Sad to say this is the best looking part of the car so far!

Installed a set of red STI spark plug wires. Wow, big improvement when starting up the engine!

Oh, and again checked the UPS site to see when my big brakes are :-) Should be arriving by 6/10...

Removed the cruise control parts from the engine bay. I can't even remember when I used it the last time, if ever. Now I have to keep my tranny clean...

And I checked on the UPS website where my big brake parts are. Alas, they're scheduled to arrive tomorrow! :-)

Started setting up my new engine hoist. Am going to need it tomorrow, to unload the LS4 out of my truck when I go pick it up. Also received my GTO fuel pump, and LS4/4t65eHD starter shipments. Saab 9-3 6-speed shifter arriving tomorrow, and anodized fuel rails should be here next week.

Hoping the LS4 already has the 58x reluctor and newer camshaft and sensors. Otherwise, I'll have to replace those too. I might end up getting a different cam anyway (probably the LS3 grind).

Working on prep for paint. Had some damage to the rear quarter on the DS of the fastback section that I had to epoxy back together and I need to fill in a few scratches here and there with glazing putty but otherwise the bodywork is done. Well... other than trying to fix my FUBAR front bumper but I may just ignore it for now.

Picked up my LS4 from the freight terminal, took the manifolds off, and put it in my garage. It's a little dirty on the outside, but hopefully when I pull it apart, it's not too bad. The manifold bolts came out with ease at least.

Got my WCF 13" big brake kit (pre-owned) and proceeded to clean and paint the components...

Also met a new Fiero driver at the workshop - and it's a girl! With a rather beat-up black 86 GT.

Pix and installation thread here: https://www.fiero.nl/forum/Forum2/HTML/109385.html

Today, I dropped the cradle to replace a slipping clutch (and a few other things). I found out why the clutch was slipping. The transmission input shaft seal is leaking. Input shaft seals for the Getrag are apparently impossible to find. Great...

prepared the front upper control arms and caliper brackets for paint, only to find that we had run out of thinner. let's just hope they don't corrode enough to warrant another hour with the sandblaster before I get the chance to finish them.

Took it down off the ramps / stands.
I had a new 2.5" exhaust system constructed for the 4.9, a few weeks ago.
The guy who did the fabrication mentioned that one of the heater hoses was now a bit close to the cat, and should be rerouted at some point.
Done.
Would have been a lot quicker, except the stomach flu interrupted.

The tuning resumes. Plan "B" is the retrofit of EGR to the Allante intake. Not my first choice, but ya' do what ya' gotta do.
