Polished out the dull areas, and drove it and drove it and drove it and tried to get it to stall again to no avail...I think I might have fixed it. Next fix front brakes....they are SCARY.
She is getting there slowly.......slowly..oh not my oil spill there.

I STARTED MY 88 TODAY!!! hahaha. I've been keeping it tucked in the garage because of the overly hot weather and rain we've been getting here. so instead I've been driving my 1972 Beetle with a stroker engine and various other upgrades it's not a Fiero, but at least the engine is in back
Tried to get the air out of my brakes from the shoddy bleeding job the Firestone tech did when swapping a caliper. Still not right, but at least it doesn't just drop straight to the floor now. Looks like I need to do a total flush of the system, as there seems to be water sitting in the fluid in the master cylinder.
On a similar note, running through some thoughts about brake upgrades in my head. The Pontiac Vibe GT has some nice sized rotors that would probably fit well with the stock Fiero GT rims, and dual-piston calipers. It also uses the more common drum-style parking break system in modern cars.
Uncovered it and took my older brother for a ride and then enjoyed the fact that he called me an As***le. Lifes little pleasures make it so worth it.........
Went to Indian Uprising in St. Charles, was surprised to see alot of NIFE members there! Then cruised around the northern part of Chicago with Pink Floyd and later Green Day in the tape deck.
I finished hooking up everything in the engine bay and started the engine for the first time in a month. Man, it sounded sweet. I can't wait to take it for a drive this weekend.
Put on a custom air-dam, I havent got to drive it much, hopefully it will take care of the getting hot problem @ high speed (it never had an air dam while Ive owned it)
Finally fixed the rattling heat shield on my 86 GT that's been driving me nuts for months....so much so that I had stopped driving the car. 5 minutes to locate the issue, 30 seconds to fix it. My procrastination is getting worse these days. Took it for a nice, long, quiet drive with the windows down and enjoyed the exhaust note .
Thanks Robert2, how did that oil cap work out? Glad it finally got there. Today I got around to doing the wire swap for the temp guage. Not a hard swap but, calibrating the guage turned into a feat! lol Every time I thought I had it in the ballpark I would recheck at a different ohms reading and it would be off. I think its pretty good right now. 160 & 220 read perfect so thats what I'm going with. Son called me to let me know there is a car show going on at his work that I didn't know about. I wouldn't have torn the dash apart if I had know. Hope they have another soon. Well my list of must do items is getting way shorter. Tires and an exhaust are the last to big items for now. Who knows what winter will make me do though! LOL Took a few more pics tonight while I was letting her run in the drive. I think I've come up with a name for the old girl. Hows Wyte Nyte? Kind of a play of my last name and how good she looks at night! Let me know what you think! Thanks
I burned a perfectly round circle on my calf by pressing it against a hot tailpipe of the 3800 car (Egads - did the car just brand me???) Then I wrestled with the 3.4 car to try to get it runnng. It finally fired up, so I took it for a ride. 3/8 of a mile from the house, it quit again. Got the tow strap and the tractor out, towed it home. In spite of the fact that the gauge said 1/4, I put some fuel in it and...whaddaya know - problem solved. (forehead smack)
I replaced the valve guide seals on both banks, replaced the upper intake manifold gasket, the valve cover gaskets, fuel injectors, pick-up coil and the dizzy o-ring.

Petey, my DD 88 formula, got rear-ended while stopped in rush hour traffic by a motorcycle. Will post pictures later. Passenger side tail light broken and scuffs on the lower clip.
Drove it to work like I do every day. Gotta get the starter changed this weekend and I'd like to try my hand at sanding the roof because well.. it's shot, why not?
Any suggestions on what would be the best thing to use?
