I replaced the starter today, oil change comes tomorrow. I figured out my exhaust leak is coming from a bad donut gasket and that will be fixed in a few days as well.
i decided to drive mine this mourning and i walked outside and apparently the rain from last night froze on it so first my doors were frozen shut so after i gave up on trying to unlock the drivers side door i got the passenger side unlocked and then climbed over into the drivers seat and got that door unlocked and open. after that i didn't think my windshield wipers would be frozen to the windshield so i turned on my windshield washer and my wipers didn't move so i stopped right away but the drivers side wiper got itself unstuck but the passenger side stayed put. so i freed up the passenger side wiper and found out that it stripped. so i took it off and was going to put it in the back trunk when my deck lid release switch broke again. so i took my keys out and opened the deck lid and put it in the back and then i finally left. what a great mourning that was. a few hours ago though i was driving through town and i was at a red light and some little kids were looking at it and one of them said WOW that thing is sweet! and then the other one said i know! ive never seen a ferrari before! i got a good laugh at that.
Started her up for the first time in 3 months. She started right up and I smiled ---just have to wait for the snow and salt to go before taking her out.
Installed some Orange 10mm LED's in my Gauge Cluster. Slightly brighter. Looks good though. And I put together a coil pack with some MSD Coils for my 3800SC Swap.
ok what i did today because my trans only shifts into 1st and reverse was: adjust the tv cable, check the vacuum, changed the trans filter and fluid. STILL NOTHING!!! the fiero fire thing will be true here soon if i get mad enough hahaha
it was a nice day today so i started by giving it a wash then i took it on a cruise and got some food then on my way back home i was doing about 90 and my hood popped itself up. luckily the hood opens from the back not the front or i would've been out a hood and a windshield. i took it on another cruise not to long after that to the middle of nowhere and managed to find my way back without needing to turn on my gps. also took this picture when i stopped for food on the first cruise.
well this mourning i left for school and my alternator belt was squealing like crazy so i did my usual push in the clutch till the rpms drop to idle and then let off the clutch to get it to stop squealing but after that didn't work about 3 times i heard a snap and then no more squealing and looked over to see my battery guage drop and the volt light come on. i then looked at my gauge cluster and saw the temperature gauge skyrocketing towards the red zone so i shut it off and luckily i was close to a parking lot and i coasted into it and then got out and looked under the car to find this
after school i got a ride to autozone and went back to the parking lot i left it in and replaced the belt. i still need to adjust it though because its a little to loose.
Nearly 2 feet removed for one ignition wire. I found a way to snake the Taylor wires in and around thus eliminating several inches. On number #015 I'll use the same sizes.
Nicely tucked underneath the Caddy plenum.
Chris West demonstrated how-to crimp the first two ignition wires as I did the rest.
I love my big and round tips.
On Wednesday we're moving onto the emergency brakes.
Sadly, I sold the Formula that was in my driveway. Happily, it was to a local man and forum member!!! It gives him a great starting point to make a fantastic car!
Keep in mind that the shape for the end plates has not been cut yet. They won't be rectangles. Also, there is packing tape over the end plates to protect them from getting scratched.
My father came home from work yesterday and said, "You owe me $20." This is why:
He works at a mechanic shop and a customer was getting new tires and my father asked if he could buy them off of the guy. They agreed to $20 for both. I needed these because my old tires were junk (Talon Triangles) They threw me all over the road. These new ones (Sumitomo HTR 45Z) work a lot better than the old ones. I will be making a video showing how much I have "enjoyed" my Talon Triangles.
