2009 Buick Lacrosse, 3800 Series III N/A. 27,000 km's. sitting on a very nice '88 4 cyl auto cradle. I bought the engine trans, harness, computer from Dan, " Fieroflyer". He did a very nice job on the harness and mounted it on the cradle for me. Thanks Dan, very happy with everything.

I grabbed inside the rear wheel wells and it was solid. Floors and suspension are clean and rust free. I really don't believe there is a single winter on this car. It is very easy to import a US built car back into the US. Check with your border agency. I recently sold a Fiero that the new owner drove right home to Michigan with temp plates. I have not started or driven this car.

I just got this car home tonight. Wow, it is a one owner car and all original, all paperwork included. Nothing broken, dash is perfect, jack has blue vinyl sheath for wheel nut lock, and rubber band still on it etc.

I ordered a set of West Coast headers and Y pipe, 1 5/8" T-304 Stainless, 3 weeks. I want to run the exhaust into one of my Borla cat back systems. I found a couple vid's of 3800 SC with the same exhaust on YouTube and it sounds totally vicious. I'm not doing the top swap right away, just the N/A to start.

While working on the T-Top yesterday, sorting out a few issues, had a bad ground on my negative battery terminal, I changed the connection to a top post mount, Idle air control valve was NFG, trying to get the timing set properly, farting and popping, changed the ICM, and finally found the problem, MSD coil, second time, I already returned one and this is second time, MSD coil is crap.

My neighbour from two doors away came into the back yard screaming at me because of the exhaust fumes and noise of the exhaust, accusing me of working on my cars every weekend, all day long. Which is absolutely a complete lie, it was only one hour. Now, I hope they choke to death.
I've had multiple flat tires from deck screw that keep appearing in the driveway, neighbour has been doing renovations for last three years, He denies that they came from his deck above, found a large scratch on my T-Top glass, he denies that it was caused by him or his rotten kids who shoot paintballs over here, tonight I heard a loud bang and went outside to find a block of wood beside my black coupe. They hate my cars, I hate them. F-ing Liars. What do you expect from a guy named Hussein ?

I will be working on the cars for the next 35 days straight. I'm going to Seafoam them during their next BBQ.

I got my headers from WCF's, 1-5/8" T-304 S.S. they look really nice, test fit later this week before ceramic.

Test fitted the WCF'S headers, fit like a glove. Getting them done with Black ceramic, hello Duane ? I called you twice today. Sigh ! Stripping the hardtop this week, 4 cars in the driveway and basement is like a Jenga !

I stripped the '87 SE pulled all the A/C equipment, HVAC system, Tilt column, I even removed the hardtop roof panel without breaking it, what a pain in the rear to get the roof panel off, Mike "MTC" is coming to get the frame and cradle, next week dropping the cradle on the black base. I'm giving the drivetrain from that car to another forum member Kurt, "Kendallville"

I haven't been updating my thread, I was very busy with work this year. I traded "fieroguru" a pair of '88 Koni front shocks for his 13" brake adapters, I bought EBC rotors and green stuff pads, these are going on the black coupe, with the black pearl Centerline Wheels, needs a tint job too. pic of the rotor

Have fun Rob...

I hope you can 'get r done'!

Thanks for the kindness and generosity you showed offering help and giving me parts and advice for my car last year.

My kit car is getting some minor body and paint work, plus new black suede interior pieces that I got from Russ88TTop done. I got some ported and polished heads with 1.6 roller tipped rockers from Arns85GT yesterday and have some new ignition components that I want to get installed. This will have my car looking and running better than ever -- I hope!.

I hope it's done in a couple of weeks, or maybe by Canada Day and then I can give you a call and drop by before work calls again.

Cheers Rob.

I want to use one of my Fiero style alternators, actually it's an MSD 160 amp, Summit racing sent me the wrong kit, short mount instead of the tall mount kit, impossible to find this mounting kit, making a bracket.

I haven't been on the forum in nearly a year, I got T boned by a guy who wasn't even as old as my car back on Dec 7th. The cop estimated he hit me at between 55-60 Kmh. I disagree ! I think he was full on the gas when he ran the light.

I wasn't hurt but the Formula is destroyed, I had just put in a Fidanza aluminum flywheel, Spec clutch, short shift kit. I had the wreck towed home, it sat all winter. I was holding out on a few purchases for the last couple years. I haven't had much time, this winter was crazy, polar vortex, grain, oil etc. I bought a 2011 Silverado 2500HD LT. 6.0 reg cab, 4x4 and a Gold Rush, 35' all aluminum enclosed car hauler, 9700 lb tandem axles, weight 1720 Kg. just a hair under 3800 lbs.

Gold Rush has an inverted 5th wheel, I'm getting the kingpin plate welded into the frame this week, I have five weeks vacation starting May 29th, planning to work on the cars again this summer, salvage what I can from the Formula. I'm going down to Carslisle with a couple other members from the Toronto area, may be taking the trailer along to Denver Pa. for some upgrade(s).

Trailer has an awning but I want something like sportsman or NHRA style. http://www.eideindustries.c...ndex/motorsports.htm

It's good to see you both back on the forum and still alive Looking at the photos I would say you
were lucky to be in the drivers seat and that no one was on the passenger side.
Still very thankful for your generosity, and hope to see a lot of updates.

Hey Rob

I too am glad nobody was in the passenger side.. The girlfriend's long legs would be a lot shorter now if she was riding shotgun LOL

I sure hope you get the black 88 working before spending time on stripping the Formula. Remember- this is Canada and winter will be here soon..

Last year was a major headache, I haven't posted anything in a very long time. I did work on the car(s) last summer, I just didn't bother posting anything.

After the Formula was wrecked I decided to use all the equipment to convert the black base coupe over to a manual. I swapped in the manual tilt steering column, wiring harness, wiper motor and wiper motor harness, for intermittent wipers. Put in a clutch line, So the car has almost all the drive equipment, 2.8 motor and Getrag from the Formula right now.

I wasn't very excited about a 3800 n/a + 4t65e. I just felt like top swap and getting trans built wasn't the direction I wanted to go.

I bought a NOS F40 6 spd. From Joe "RaceTech" several few years ago when they were plentiful, I've kinda been planning this for a very long time so last year I took a step back.

I've been collecting a bunch of junk to build a 3800 turbo, F40 on one of my '88 cradles.

September I ordered a pair 05-07 Cobalt S.S. Axles from the Driveshaft Shop, Stage 2, 4340. and a nos intermediate shaft from Redline.

ordered the F body aluminum flywheel from Spec with a Stage 3+ clutch, pressure plate and the htob spacer.

There are two different part numbers for the Quaife LSD, I found a NOS unit on eBay in the U.K. So I called Quaife, they told me it's the very exact same unit, no difference whatsoever, only a difference is the part number, one is Saab and therefore discontinued.

I bought Steve's turbo when he posted it in the mall a couple months ago, PT4067s with the Tophat intake, ZZP S2 w2a intercooler, LIM, headers, crossover, Tial waste and boost.

I'm probably going to use my S.S. 1-5/8" WCF headers, they're ceramic coated but I'll need a new crossover for this setup.

I ordered a pair of aluminum cylinder heads from ZZ Performance, w/ 140 lb. springs. 4340 connecting rods, forged JE pistons, 8:1:1. Rollmaster double timing chain, ST5 cam.

Bought a ATI balancer, "blem" no timing marks, eBay, direct from ATI.

Need to get all the rotating assembled and balanced.
