Do not trust this guy! I have tried to deal with him on two separate occasions without success. The first time I offered him his asking price and he refused to respond to several e-mails. I actually diagnosed an operating problem for him over the phone during our conversations so I know that he exists.

The second time was in the last few weeks when he contacted me after not being able to sell the car and asked me to purchase it since we had previous business dealings (bought Mera nose badge) and he knew that I was not a scammer. I made him an offer after talking with him on the phone several times and he accepted the offer in writing. After I asked how he wanted to be paid, he has not responded to any of four e-mails or several voice messages left on his phone. I retained most of the written correspondence if anyone has trouble believing my side of the story.

I actually saw this car briefly on my commute home yesterday afternoon (I-15 N @ Miramar Way) when he passed me. I tried to get a pic with the cameraphone, but he was zipping in and out of heavy traffic, across three lanes, like an absolute lunatic, and couldn't catch up. It sure was pretty though.

That yellow one looks "diffrent"..... could be the angle of the picture or the fact that the rims are so dark..... but it looks "off".
I see it has the side markers & antenna relocated. I think it's missing the Ford backaup lights too.....hard to tell. Could be a Fie-rarri kit or a modified Mera.
I like the previous one.

A lot of people installed the US 308 style side markers, and relocated the antenna on Mera's to make them look more like 308's. The lace wheels are correct for an 87. I don't really care for the black painted headlight covers but some 308's had black painted gills behind the headlignts. The pictures are so small I could not see if the car has Ford reverse lenses or not. It could be a kit, but it still has the Mera, drooping front bumper. To me, it looks better than the 88 with with the purple paint job, bling wheels, and big wing spoiler. My favorite of the recently listed Mera's is the white one that Dan posted. It even has the optional Corporate Concepts leather interior package available on the 87's.

sup boys, daddy got a new computer

that White one is nice......i think that yellow one is a Mera....for the bumpers, so far.
the mirrors look right at the base too, maybe?
now Rick????
Tommys Mera has the same Tuck and Roll so it bled over to, in the least, the early 88's.

that purple one its most likely trashed, if that guy drives like i do. blew my 2.8 in under 11,000miles.
it was serviced before i bought it, but you know me

here we go first attempt at the PIP2.0.........post

man this thing is huge......the computer i mean

later

Since this is sorta THE Mera thread on the site I figured I'd report a sighting here. Now, I'm not exactly certain if it's a real Mera or a 308 kit but on the way to work this morning going east from Navarre on US98, I spotted a nice looking one. He turned off into Hurlburt Fld and I gave him a double toot of my air horn as I went past. The only drawback I noticed was that when the stop lights came on, the outer amber lenses lit up too. . . . . .ughhhh. Is this normal or an indication that it's a kit and not a Mera? Also noted 2.8V6 with a GTS badge under it between the right side reverse lens and tail lights. Other than that, it was definitely a right on looking machine, especially to me as I love Ferrari's and even anything that looks reasonably close.

yeah i am going to say if all the tail lights come on its a Mera. that is one thing i have found between my Mera and the ProtoType. all the TailLights, light.

how far from Orlando was this?? i bought My Mera from a guy in Orlando and he had 2 more Mera. a Black one and a Red one. they all have big engines in them. the Black one has a NorthStar and the Red one has a 3800 sc.......what color was the one you saw??

good lookin out too. we love Mera sightings in here and FL has the most concentracion next to Cali......and Michigan

and the Mera Nations of Nelson and Indy-Resto-Guy hahahaaaaaaa.........

If it car had the 2.8 V6 and GTS emblems most likely it is an unaltered Mera. I own an 88 Mera built on a GT chassis which originally had orange turn signals in the stock GT lenses. My brake lights and turn signals function independently, as the should.

Here is my theory on your question. Other 88 Mera's built on Formula platforms, which did not have separate amber turn signals in the original taillights, would exhibit this problem. Apparently on the Formula conversions, the brake and turn signals are wired for the same task, causing both the red and amber lenses to illuminate when the brakes are applied.

As far as 87 Mera's, I am not sure if they were built on both GT and SE platforms. If so, some 87's might exhibit the same problem. Dan, can you chime in on this as an 87 expert?

Ricks right. i have a video of the Prototype built on an SE and it has the same "Problem" as i do.

the 88 formula and the older SE's are basically the same....so by rights they should be this way. i like it.....it just screams "STOP!!"

I never want to be rear ended in my Mera....do you???hahaaa.
my opinions are only spectulative for no one, will really know unless they built them back in the day here in MI.
but i feel that as long as it is a 87 SE or a 88 Formula all the lights should blink togeather under a turn signal command
(left/right, respectfully) unless modified by previous owners along the way.......i may point to Richard in this aspect
and/or all the taillights, cept the reverse light should go under braking.....wheres that vid?? new computer so i have to load that stuff all over

laters

Daniel

Can't verify prior mods, but my 88 Formula based #8046 has the CC leather; only the yellows blink and only the reds light on braking.

there are no 1988 SE's sorry..... so you may have a GT. in this case them lights should be that way.

if it turns out to be a Formula, well thats why i mentioned you had a taillight fix....
that pic you posted from the inside of your trunk is the first i have seen of that configuration......

i cant remember.....i think, his was like mine. wait. check that. i will reserve the right to investigate

and this larger computer i got makes it easier to see the text....so i can glossarize this thread.
the problem is where to post that where it may be updated?? wonder if theres room at Mera.com

someone should give..... Jeff was it? a bump and see if they are gonna do anything more with that site.
for us it would be a great domain to frequent.....being Mera guys.

or i guess i could post it once and you all are the play at home editors, like Perry White "........OLSEN!!!!"

You guys are spot on. Formula Meras have all 4 lights on when you brake and only the amber OUTSIDE lights should blink. So my question is..... can I just swap my rear wiring harness to get the ambers not to come on durung braking?

Lets see..on the question of GT 1988's, mine is #8002 and is a GT. As for those freak'n tail lights, a guy followed into my driveway (thought he was an off-duty cop-but no) to tell me my ambers were flashing for my turns, I told him it was a Ferrari "thing." I am bad.
I tried to check my break lights but every time I run to the back of the car, they go out?

As a matter of record I have 8004 and it is also a GT. My other later model 88 is not based on the GT frame.

I am putting out a "feeler" : I MIGHT be selling my Mera #8002, with 50,000 miles red/tan GT-in all ways excellent.
Here's the logic in this; I have a progressive disease called Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis (IPF), it is always fatal, and there is no cure, or medication. Life span is from 3-7 years, or less, it can progress either slow or very fast, or both. I have had it 3 years now, and found out at my last check-up (Friday) that it is slowly progressing. At present I have 51% of my lung function, at 50% I go on oxygen. As of now I can still do most of what I did, but much slower, and many things are getting harder to do, steps are a real ***** . I have two cars and a truck, the Mera, a 300SE Mercedes and a Silverado truck, the Mercedes is the easier one to drive, the truck I will give to my oldest son (his is pure junk), and the Mera will only be fought over, or worse, run into the ground, and it deserves way better. I believe it should bring around $12,500.00, which should help with a few things on my "Bucket List." As I said: I am only sending out a Feeler, but one that may come true sooner than later, I have to be realistic.

I tried that too. Same problem. Dragged wifey out there, and told here to wear her flats. Problem solved!

PM sent.
