Just as I suspected...everyone has a Fiero buried somewhere in their past!

Today, I mailed out the letters to Bosco's Garage model builders. Looking forward to seeing what he comes up with!

I will have to try the San Antonio Owl Cafe location. I now remember hearing about this place. Are the K&I and Sadies in ABQ ? If you go east of there you need to try the Corona Cafe in Corona, New Mexico. Yummy! and the Apple Pie is the best I have ever had.

Are the original MERA letters painted some sort of silver or were they chromed? I ask as I have sent a set to a model maker and want to make them as original as possible. I went to the encyclopedia de' Rodney's pics but cant really tell. Also, what is on the back of the MERA nose badge in this display Rodney? I have heard some had posts and others were taped down.

Although I did not take any pictures there were silver plastic covers for the large opening in the Cromadora rims. I have 2 sets. I'm sure these are now extremely hard to find. They had no emblems on them. To see the small center Mera emblems you had to take the large plastic covers off.

They are chromed plastic with satin black trim.

My Mera emblems are original to the car. On the front emblem, it appears to be held on with adhesive backing, but I have not looked underneath to verify.

John,

Both of my original Mera nose badges were held on with two sided adhesive type tapes. I used the same method to reattach both original and reproduction nose badges.

Here are some wiperblade arm boots I installed on my Mera, Corson and F40. Dresses up those old GM originals.

I had been looking for a pair for my Corson. Used to see them in every car parts store but now no one has them. Found these at a swap meet last Fall. I only wanted one pair but had to purchase the whole case. Anyone interested $20 a pair includes shipping, PM for details.

The GRAND AM S/E letters have arrived at Bosco's Garage model makers. Dave will be sorting out a perfect set of MERA letters for me. They will be made chrome with satin black surrounds and no cut marks. I'll share costs and the final product with everyone when I get them. Here is a link to Bosco's model makers so you can see their work. I think I am in good hands.

http://boscosgarage.com/

I got very little to no response on the group buy of MERA mats so those will be placed on hold for now.

I'm very intrested to see how they turn out.
Are you looking on getting other lettering done as well? (that would be cool as I would go back to original badging then)
About the floor mats, were you going to have eyelets mounted at the rear to secure them? The reason I ask is being handicapped, when I drive a manual trans car now the floor mat slides up under the pedals and bunches up under everything. It really pisses me off but I can't do much about it.

Resto Guy, I had the same problem with the stock mats, even with the factory velcro, due to the mats being thin. I purchased some Lloyds mats that are much thicker, also used velcro and have not had any problems at all.

I am interested in a new set of letters also. I was thinking of having my originals rechromed until this option became a possibility.

Interesting...... but I don't think they are original CC emblems. Probably a new chinese knock off. It is nice of them to crank some out for us. These types of emblems have a tendency to haze over quickly in the sun. Ask me how I know.

Ok.....roll call. It's almost Cinco de Mayo. I was the last one to post here, and that was last month!!

Mera technical question. Have any of you removed the front bumper on your car? Any things to watch out for when doing this?

yeah he said he did not want to go tooo much like a GTO

but whats with the F-40 like triangle on the bottom rear, here??

this 308 lets me know that Mera X will look cool with black wheels, also

and i was sooo happy when later in the afternoon a OEM 1978 Ferrari 308 showed up, that made a real good day...GREAT!

and to top off the day....i took my TransAm out of the garage to get it to the fixin store on Monday and decided to take it for a spin around the block.
it was not as bad as i remember it being, so it may not be as broke as i thought....till the power steering went out whoops!

it seems a couple bolts worked loose in storage some how......and i snapped one off in the threads and threw a belt.

made it back home and will leave it till i can get it to the mechanic on Monday i hope.....it may be an easy fix and sure was a blast hauling up and down my road getyousome!!

*EDIT*
CRAP!!! since the bolts were loose and under load from the belt them stripped the mount bracket....so i new to re-drill and tap or get a new one;( booooooooo!
i guess i could add that to the bill.....i do have $1300 to use wonder what that money would do for this

Knock knock...... guess who?

Sorry guys...been working too hard. Back for a bit.
Quick update... entered Mera8071 in 3 car shows this summer.
Bought me the e-bay Mera center wheel caps (not original but I am missing one so I figure it's better than nothing)
Also contacted the center wheel hub guy and asked if he could reproduce the originals...waiting for answer.
Check out the NIFE facebook page...... you'll never guess who's Fiero is being used as a header for the next 2 months
Sorry I wasn't here for Cinco de Mayo
Who lives in Arizona? Heading there this year for a little get away. (Flying, no driving)
May replace my door bushings this weekend or next.
Still have not won any lottory so still work for a living.
I was playing Texas Holdem the other night with Tarot cards... got a royal flush & 5 people died! (joke)
