I have an '88 GT in Bright Red WA8774. my Mera is Dodge Flame Red PR4 which is claimed to be a near match to the original--the two cars are nowhere near the same color.

That is the question. I thought the Mera would be painted the same red as the 88 GT since they re used the stock roof panels when the cars were rebodied. Now I hear that it is a different shade. If Richards Mera is painted the original Mera red, then we could compare it to his 88 GT to see the difference.
i posted my question in that, mall thread.....then went to FaceBook to play. well i had a message/reply to that $2500, counter-offer!! "yes she wants it!!!!" i was like "damn i thought HE wanted it!" i guess "she" gets what "she" wants!!! totally cool!!!
now seeing as that 3800 is already in a 1987 Fiero.....is this a "Plug and Play" swap cuz its an Automatic trans as well as Mera X!!! please say yes!!!!!!!!!!!! sopoooo jazzed by this. i got it covered now at full price but i never pay full price for anything.......not even bread

It might be easier to swap your body on to the SC 3800 Fiero. You would not need to drop the cradle. I am sure some of the SC3800 guys here can help you with the code the car is throwing. That is too cheap for a 3800 swap Fiero.

Thanks for the pictures Richard. You can definitely see the difference. The Mera has more orange. I am in the planning stages to redo my 24 year old paint job. I want the car to be eye searing red ! Viper Red is the brightest factory red I have seen. The base tint red may be even brighter.
WOWWIE!!.....^^^^^^ thems not good enough?? tough crowd
hey Rick??? is this red enough for ya?? in the sun light you'll get your "Blinding red"!! a twin turbo monster with an owner stated ".......over 650 HP"
dang that beast sounded fierce. it was in town so he did not get on it in the city, but the R8 sure did. i got some vids i will post later. yeeeeehhhhaaawwww!
they left early so i did not get many pick after droolin over the R8. actually that Porsche won "Most Exotic" i contended that the R8 should have been considered an "Exotic" instead of a "Sport" because "......Carbon Fiber is an exotic compound" expecially in the USA sooooooooo if its construted of an exotic material.....it should have been judged as such so i think next year somethings are gonna change. i cant wait to get Mera X in next year....the sales video and everything. its gonna be excellent!!

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymot...&hash=item460708cdc5 heres another one, too. but why, oh why do these sellers never show the Mera sticker. at least this guy shows the trunk lid open with something sticker like in the right spot ohhhh and no mention of what Mera number it is, even *totalfail*
that red one Wayne posted looked promising with the 3.4L but it got bid on (by the seller, most likely) starting at $9,000. tooo much for me. now he thinks hes gunna get 12K for it?? huh......

I saw this Black "Mera" on Ebay and contacted the owner, asking what the build number was. Reply I got was, "No clue". I also asked if he had ask Rodney to do a VIN look up. No reply ....... Hey batousai666 can you do a VIN look up? 1G2PE1190JP217614
Sure looks like a Mera, but I have been fooled before. Small clue is the missing famous mirror toggle switch .........

yeah i called him too and he was clueless.........and no i can not run Mera VINS. Rodney only has that info. i just have the Mera numbers confirmed as such by his inital research the Kid i talked to said it was in there, tho

Ok, if he says "knows" and has confirmed the VIN is in Rodney's database, then he "should" know the build number ??????
I also asked him about the Mera sticker and was told that the previous owner removed all Mera ornaments and labels from the car and substituted Ferrari ones for them. It may be an 88 Mera but cannot be confirmed until we have a build number from somewhere. The mirror/controller is certainly not original. With the F430 mirrors I would expect to see a joystick controller but it would not necessarily be required.

On the black car, the wheels and side louvers look to be correct for a Mera. Odds are the original Vitalonis were replaced when they failed. Pehaps the joystick was replaced as well. Front bumper is a Rodney kit. I would bet this car is a Mera that has been altered from stock.
The red car is definitely a kit. Hood, headlight covers, and side louvers are all incorrect for a Mera.
dan, there is a real lotus esprit for sale on ebay right now. 1977 model. needs lots of work but is a lotus. i know how you like those. happy motoring
ha!!! thats funny....the only restoration project i want is to get Mera X fixed!!! which may be in the works!! i got some overtime in at the sheetmetal gig and have some unexpected scratch a'commin AWESOME!!

Dan, saw this on fiero-technet--you might be interested.
"Date: Mon, 2 Jul 2012 02:36:02 +0000 From: kjf <kjf@wowway.com> Subject: Fiero '87 GT Was thinking of selling my GT as it has been in storage for ~6 yrs. Have spare cradle with 2.8 engine and trans to go with it. Drivetrain has ~ 50k on it. Any ideas on what the ave selling prices are these days?"
Dan, this Mera has been listed for sale by the same owner before. I checked on it when I purchased mine, but I did not want an automatic. As you can infer from his answers he is not very personable. It is a nice car with an aftemarket steering wheel, and glove box,
You are quite the detective. The damaged Corson Spyder appears to be the same one in the picures you posted. These were expenisve back in the day and could be purchased even with a TPI V8 installed.
The 2.8 on the cradle might be a buy if the engine is in good condition.
Called Dave from Boscos garage. He has received all my emblems from the Grand Ams and he is working on the MERA letters. His progress is posted on the Bosco's Garage website. I had to track down an extra "Grand" as there was an issue with the one I had. Hopefully soon we will have this sorted out!
