Here's a pic that Scott sent me, it has a natural finish center.

They paint the centers silver and the rim is polished aluminum.

I had him machine the center with a shallow recess in the center area, slightly bigger than the lug bolt circle.

I'm not sure exactly what widths are available, I ordered 7" for the front and 8" rears

Those look nice. Are they 5x100? What diameter are they available in? Can you pick your offsets? HRE 505's are similar but are way out of my budget.
PM sent too.

Looks like mine polished--my rim is steel.

Yes, sad day to even think of parting with her but a few bills crept up on us and here I am selling my girl. She sat while I was deployed for the last 9 months to Afghanistan and I want her in good hands intead of the type of guy that I got her from or like me who let her sit without anyone to put miles on her except my 18 year old daughter that drove her to prom...At least you guys know what you are looking at. I got questions like "Does it have a back seat?" from others...

Since I sold Mera_Cop a new set of tail light lenses they may now be installed on the car.

Richard, your wheels do look like the Team III wheel. Do yours have a manufacturers name on the back side? Perhaps they are now chrome plating the steel rim part instead of painting it.

Your car really cleaned up nice. What width wheel spacers did you end up using? Good luck with the sale.

I ended up using 1 1/2 half on the rear and never did do the front after I got a bad set from eBay and got my money back. Thanks for the compliment, it actually is really dusty but she is in really good shape. I don't know what in the heck the previous owner was thinking llisting it in that poor condition. I replaced several small things like mirrors and the badges. I put maybe $700 more into her and cleaned her up nice then put her under a cover when she was parked inside my shop. I really hope that someone on here is looking for one and can get with me on the side. As you guys know, these need to be kept by those that know what they have.

Rick,

These wheels were custom made by an outfit in Los Angeles back in '94--when I find the receipt I'll post.

Interesting Ebay Fiero VS 308 Ferrari story.
A few years ago, I finally had the finances available to purchase my dream car..a Ferrari 308 GTSI ..It's styling .. art really.. Prior to purchasing it I did the usual things..making sure it had it's full service history, etc. From the very beginning it was a complete nightmare. After the car delivery guys left, I noticed the engine lurching. Nothing two $400 motor mounts couldn't fix. Tune up..Oh yeah. $550 distributor caps - it needs two. Ferrari's business model is no different than the local crack dealer's.....give them the first one cheap..knowing the money's in the "come back". In this case having to use insanely expensive Ferrari parts. All of which would be ok if the car was in any way fun to drive. It was so slow and could never ever ever be taken out of the 200 mile AAA towing distance. But it was so beautiful...... I got so disgusted with it I sold it but not before adding up the encycopedic file of receipts. The car had about 61,000 miles and $59,000 worth of receipts. That's over $900.00 per mile to run. But it was beautiful, and like any bad habit, that itch stayed with me. Then I saw a replica. The styling without the hassle. That would be the answer!

^^ yulp.....and thats why My Mera is busted

i drove the crap out of it......it proved fatal tho. back when i was going to work in 2011 i had a 60 mile, one way, commute.
best time ever was when I HAD to take the Mera!! ohh yeah....middle of the summer just before the highway got busy in the AM.
here comes ole Mera X cannonballin the straight shot up 131 to GrandRapids, here in MI.

i got a ticket posted here somewhere, 94 in a 70mph.....ooops. shear awesome.
and of course i am not the only bad boy on that road. i used to race Vettes and them drifter pukes all the time. soooooo fun!!

i live in the land of freeze and thaw with potholes and i cringe everytime i see one, not to mention hit one....but in a Lambo or Ferrari?? 'ell no!
! i could not handle the stress but the Fiero takes it like a champ.
peeeown!!!

Well, Larry, you really shouldn't feel like the Lone Ranger. Edmunds did a story a few years back that mirrored yours--they bought a "near perfect" 308 and still put over $10k in it during the year they owned it. But, my favorite story is a personal one--while in an AutoZone parking lot, there to buy a part of course, a guy walked up to the car and started cussing like crazy. "I had one of these once and it was the worst piece of stuff (a euphemism) I ever owned." While walking around the car he went on and on about the bucks he sunk into it--guess he didn't notice my nose badge that says "Pontiac Division." I mentioned that I was there to get a radiator cap, first expense in two years, and that it was a Pontiac. I pointed out the differences that I knew of, but there weren't many--even the custom 308 car cover fit very nicely. He went off mumbling.

OTOH, I do like the Targa top on the GTS ;-)

That's not my story, fortunately I did some research and found out what would cost to maintain a 308.

Based on that finding I started looking for a 308 Fiero kit car and discovered the Mera.

After researching the Mera I decided that it was the car for me and was lucky enough to find one that is a good solid car that just needs some cosmetics. One other bonus is the one I ended up with has a 3800SC in it.

It was just good to hear anothers personal experience with a real 308 that reinforced my decision.

alfa spiders, 308's, and mazerati's use the infamous vitaloni mirrors that are correct for our cars. the maserati also uses the correct power mirror controller switch. but they get a premium for all of them.

as far as cromadoras go... why doesnt someone contact american racing wheels or anyone like that send them a wheel and have them look at it. maybe they like them and reproduce them. if they did it likely wouldnt just be for the fiero pattern likely would fit lots of models... but hey you dont know unless you try. or if any of you have a friend with a waterjet mill they could reproduce them as one offs.

well, thats been open for debate......i got the witness mark of the "2.8V-6" on the back not sure how long that needs to "set in" but its there.
i have a Real F-Car GTS on there from purchase but i have talked to the owner and touched the '86 prototype they are not on there but, they say they have the trunk letters. so i am not too sure, cuz Rodney said not all Mera may have had them early on......blah blah and so on.
but to answer your question.........i see in the least a "GTS" in my future, yes

Even Vitaloni mirrors with the same part numbers appear to be somewhat different wrt the mounting sections. I have actual F308 mirrors on one Mera and they are different than the Mera mirrors. The head is the same but the mountying portions are different and I may have to remove them from the car because they do not "look right". Pictures can be made if anyone wants to see the difference.

Rick,

I will try to take some pictures tomorrow of the F308 mirrors on a Mera and post them ASAP. I am considering swapping some F430 mirrors in their place.

nelson is correct. the vitalonis on the alfa spyder and the 308 have the same part numbers but different bases than the mera. the vitalonis on the maserati are dead ringers tho. the maserati also has the correct power mirror toggle switch. but be warned, they are very pricey. some early lambo muira's also had the mirrors. but i have never personally seen those. have seen all the rest.
