i thought the firebird 16 in. wheel bolt pattern and offset wouldn't fit the fiero (?)
i think those would look Terrific on a 308 car !
i got some weird spacers/adapters for the current CenterLine wheels that came with the car......2 different patterns are available. my Jeep wheels fit and they are 16" so i assume.....and these would sweet on Mera X! i am sooo missing X

Dan,
You wil need adapters for GTA wheels. They will bolt right on my 68 El Camino but not your Fiero.
Don't knock the "Puny 305". The Tuned Port Injection 305 available on the 5-speed manual transmission 87 GTA only had 10 less horsepower than the 350. It also had a hotter cam and revved higher than the 350. Plus, the 5-speed manual came with 3.45 rear gears, instead of the highway 3.23's that came with the 350 car.
The reason I know all this is because i ordered that exact combination brand new in 87 on my GTA. I used to love whipping up on those 350 auto cars. The 5-speed had much better gear spacing compared to the 700R4 which has a large drop off between first and second. With a Tuned Port Injection Specialties Fast Pack, Hurst shifter, and mandrel bent, stainless cat back exhaust, I easily got well more than the 10 horsepower back, and had 350's chasing my tailights.
Let see, if they made 88 Meras in 1987, that makes mine fine number 99! Production number 8011.
Right on guys, great feedback all around... Seems like a good buy, #7029 that is, at this point anyway, but I still have to give her a good look at some point. Assuming she's still for sale over the next couple of weeks. I'll keep you guys posted, definitely looking to have some fun!

I only see a toggle switch for the mirrors. What part is missing? Passenger side door upper? Has anyone seen this car in real life? Pretty sure it has some issues we can't see in those few pictures.
Where is it stated that this vehicle is a Mera? I see some Mera type equipment but this may just be a rebody. Has anyone contacted the owner wrt the Mera issue?
It doesn't say it's a Mera but it has all the right stuff, mirrors, door panel uppers, rear turn lenses and Chromodoras. Looks like the right exhaust pipes also.
A 308 replica probably wouldn't have all these items and it's pretty low mileage if it doesn't have any frame rust issues.
Posted the link in case anyone is looking for one, should be worth checking out.

outside a one piece rear....i'd buy that after a verification or 2! say, now that i am working, maybe
ohhh yeah, its been soo long i for got about Power windows, duh!! i had to go look. duhoy!
to me thats too much door panel showing to have the Mera door upper. but i see a nice rear bumper and passenger side sail louver that screams "X!", yulp. Parts car!!!
i think it would make a great parts car....for the Mera-type stuff, alone. as an '88 i think it would make a great fast Mera. get a mean MI, Turbo 3800 swap and be done race ready and lookin steady. i got just the right people in my woods, too..ZZP in GR and them Fast Flint Boys!!
ohhh thats a nasty thought that just ran thru....on this *edit* time to pray to the powers of "Overtime." i have pulled thru on every other threat....so i must aim higher now!!

Here is his reply to my question about his asking price:
"Make me an offer. It has been wrecked in the front the body got fixed but not the frame. The hood gap doesn't fit very good I'll send some pics. Also the windshield is cracked and the cv axels are going bad. That's all that's wrong with it it runs great has 39,600 miles on it. Interior is in near perfect shape."
I have asked for pictures of the car repair (before/after) as well as pictures of the current frame rail damage. I also asked the owner for a photo of the engine compartment and the trunk (minus the carpet) to see if there were rust issues. I really do not expect much out of this owner but will share any responses received from him.
Owner of the Mera has not provided any information wrt the frame damage or repair work since photos were requested. Based on that lack of response I offered $2000 sight unseen and was told that this was not a POS car since it only had 39,000 miles on it. No counter offer, no pictures, etc. lead me to believe that he either does not really want to sell this car or that he is hiding major damage.
I think mine has the original from Corporate Concepte on it. My car was a Formula before the conversion and it looks like Corporate Concepts installed a pair of the "D" end plates and re-used the Formula weatherstrip, just shortened it to fit.
Dave from Bosco's Garage contacted me this morning. Four sets of letters have been formed and are ready for chroming. This is going to be the sticler step. "So I reached out to Paul's Chrome Plating, a well known plater of full scale plastic parts. They quoted $40 per letter, so you'd be looking at $160 for a single set of 4 letters, plus the cost of my work to produce the raw parts, and I'm not sure if you need 1,2, or 3 sets to do your one car. OUCH ! But, in terms of quality, this would be the way to go since the plastic parts would be coated in copper first, and then chrome plated. Super durable, and they'd be gorgeous. Not sure if you're up for that kind of expense.
i think we have 2 alternatives: 1) go with a vacuum plater like ChromeTech USA (although I work with someone better). Price would be substantially lower, but again, I'm not sure how well the vacuum plating would stand up to the elements, or 2) I could paint the parts in a chrome finish (with matte black edges of course) and clear coat the heck out of them. i use a product called Alclad which provides a VERY convincing chrome finish, but if you're a stickler, you'll be able to tell the difference. However, that would be the least expensive option, and I could have them ready in a few weeks."
Option one: $160 + $31.25 = $191.25 plus whatever shipping is involved. This is exact cost at this point with the best chrome plating (good catch Nelson!) Option two: Vacuum plating a bit cheaper but unknown weathering Option three: Painted chrome, looks good but not perfect.
I want to get everyones input before I do these.

John,
I am not quite certain that I understand your math on this option. If I add the prices I get $191.25 plus shipping. What have i missed that lowers the price to $81.25 plus shipping?
I contacted Billit Badges this morning to ask about these. they are $100 plus $15 shipping. We can get a bulk price if we order 20 or more. I wouldn't expect more than 10% off so somwhere between $105 and $120 would be a safe estimate. Anyone interested?
um... why not have a machinist make the mera letters in aluminum. polish them, and paint the edges and your done. yes it will cost for the cnc setup but at 191.00ish for chrome plastic ones... im fairly sure you could get four or five sets and get them under that price likely. just my .02
so johnny is billet badges doing the mera letters for 100.00 or the nose badge for 100.00?

Billiet Badges made the MERA nose badge pictured earlier. The letters were being modeled at Bosco's Garage (high end plastic modeler). I was actually thinking the same as you were about having Billet Badges make the MERA letters in billet and the blacken the edges. They certainly would be durable! let me inquire as to the cost and see what that option would cost.

Has anyone replaced theirs and what did you use?
Thanks, Larry
Just finished repairing my '88 GT with backer rod and black silicon. If you need new, there's a guy that advertises on Pennocks--$115, I think.

The reserve for this vehicle is quite high based on my conversation with the owner. I wished him the best of luck with the sale buy do not believe that the current market is likely to support his current price.
I have sent an email to Billet Badges to see what they would charge for billet MERA letters. Standby for updates...
The OEM letters have sharp inside corners, the inside corners on the nose badge letters they made don't have sharp corners, they are cut with a round mill. I don't know if they can make the inside corners on the letters look like the OEM ones.
They gave me a quote on the cost but I had to pay for the design work, one badge and shipping before they did the design. On the nose badge I decided that the rounded inside corners were acceptable, the letters are pretty small and it really didn't matter anyway as it was already paid for.
I would prefer a set of the chrome plated plastic letters that are exact replicas if the aluminum ones won't have the correct inside corners.
