the interior looks F-Car'd up so the door uppers may not be there. the mirrors look right tho.....so there could be a good buy here. the rear looks good, too so that's worth right there but on the bright side it was/is an '88 so one less, eh?? sorry..........that's not nice
*EDIT* WAIT!!!! that's an old add.....sold May 28th 2013! wonder what it went for??

Saw a sharp red 88 MERA w/ F-Car badging on I-10 near Beaumont, CA on Sunday early afternoon. Saw it coming up in mirror and told my wife "here comes a 308". First thing I noticed was the bumper and front signals, then the one piece side glass, and it was confirmed by the Ford back up lights. Was super excited and said "it's a MERA!" to my wife, and she said "yeah! Look at the interior!". Made me proud to here her looking at a car with such detail.
You forget just how sharp they are until you see another one.
So whoever you are, if the red Honda Del Sol trying to take pictures of your car freaked you out, I apologize. You were just the first one other than my own I have seen on the road.

For some reason I cannot get the trunk to latch on my MERA. I took a video of the latch lining up and everything looks aligned. Almost looks like it does not go far enough down.

Johnny,
I had the same issue on one of my 87 Meras and had to do a lot of adjusting (up, down, and movement toward the driver) to make it eventually latch closed.
Hi everyone! I'm new here and have been looking though a lot of threads. I found this one and just wanted to share an interesting story. There is a Mera in my town, but it is a REPLICA Mera. . Instead of creating a Ferrari 308 GTS replica out of a Fiero, the guy took his Fiero GT and custom molded ALL the panels in his garage. He then put the Mera badges all around the car. So in a way, he created a replica of what was already kind of a replica. i thought that was very interesting!
More people are going back to the original Mera badging and as a result they are becoming quite rare. Like to know where he found them, or had them made.

What did you use to make the spacing correct? I was thinking about elongating the holes in the actual bracket for the up and down and then using washers for the in and out. Trouble is I cannot see exactly what needs to be done adjustment wise. I can use a phone and video it multiple times...guess the long way it is!

It has been a long time but I did use some washers and maybe a Dremel type tool to elongate some holes.
The actual striker (on the trunk) had over the years bent down just a bit. I discovered it by putting a flashlight in the trunk and using my cell phone to video the inside while closing/opening the trunk. Bent the strike back up a little bit....voila, problem sorted. the cell phone idea was perfect!
My deck lid is significantly heavier than the Fiero lid, and while the Dickman mod with gas struts holds the lid up, there is a point at which it free falls. After a few inadvertent "slams" the latch doesn't catch and adjustments to the striker are required. OTOH, if the striker is set too high, there is not sufficient upward pressure on the lid when latched to allow the latch to clear the striker when the solenoid is activated and manual opening is required--until readjusted. Fortunately, I've only had to do this a couple times--I don't let others close the lid.

I should be able to pick which Fiero I want to drive to the shows in a Month!! YEEEEEHAW! I have been waiting a long time for this month to finally arrive
Now I am wanting a supercharger for my 383 project Mera. Why did you have to post this clip!
Nelson
Couldn't help myself--never saw a Fiero scoot so quick. I want one, but think the extra weight of the Mera might slow it down.

wow! all this talk about "Super Chargers" may have twisted reality for Mera X
the deal for the $400 3.4L engine fell thru, and Re-manufactured 3.4L are running $1500 plus need a 4 speed auto trans puts me is a spot to swap BlackDynamites 3800 SC in to Mera X and with the savings I can buy a V8 Fiero that's down the road hot dog!!!

I think I got all of that: X gets BD's drive train, BD becomes objet d'art, and you just purchased a V-8 of which we've seen only the engine.
