soooooooo I am flipping thru the local radio stations and I hit "The Rocker" WRKR around 6:25 PM and I hear Pontiac Mera on a pause between manic channel Flipping cuz of comercials........but really?? "Pontiac Mera" stops me dead! no kidding the DJ mentions the lawsuit and the "cool" Pontiac tie in and says, "its NOT a kit car." I missed where he saw Mera X cuz you know I got the only one in my little town.....been FaceBook confirmed my a friend who hit my page with "Hey!" "They are talking about your Mera on the radio" sooooo that's weird. the DJ wont answer the studio phone and I gave up after 5 tries. cool, back to stirring up the Legend that is Mera!! getyousome!

sa-weet When we doing lunch? You pick me up in Mera3800 in Dearborn & I'll buy.
ha!!! this is where it gets weird.... it seems in the last days that the 3800 was in the OG car I got, "Black Dynamite"
it started smoking a bit and was advised my multiple opinions to not worry sooo much. well, in comes a fire hydrant and a Monsoon down pour. wack!! BD sits and I wait.....the winter. fast forward to Spring 2014, break out BlackDynamite to fix and forget....and its smoking real bad and have structural issues....and a repair bill attached just to align the ft hood alone in the high 100's maybe 1000's.
then we find the Mera has a smoked 2.8L. sooooooo I plan a 3.4L as a replacement and with trans it gets close to $4,000. My wheels start turning and I had threatened to get a junk 3800 swapped car and put it in Mera X, so I did well that smoke turned out to be more than "nothing." I has hammering on it pretty hard and thought I broke it. it was humming and low on power. DAMN!!
well I have been driving it around town short, short 5-10 mile runs and with letting it cool down in between for hours and it seems good, but any long distance, 20 miles or more are skechy and now my Mera is like a real 308 which owners cant drive either...
mind you I worked many many hours last year and got all money'd up, so I was able to fix Mera X and with the money I saved on the BD to Mera X swap I bought this now I only need a 3800 turbo Aldino and I am set \m/ \m/

That was one cool lunch hour! Did the viper boys see are know you had a 3800SC hidden in back?
not by line of sight but when I jumped back in after these quick snaps, I hit it. The supercharger whine coupled with total acceleration left its mark!! latterly!!
Hello All: I just purchased my first Mera yesterday and wanted to check out this forum to see if anyone could verify my car's story/history. The car is titled a 1986 Pontiac and after verifying the vin, it shows it was produced in 1986 as a Fiero with a 2.8 V6 with 4 speed manual. The previous owner provided me with some documentation that shows the car was first owned by Robert Bracey and I have a letter from Robert stating he sold the 1986 Mera Concept number 6001 to one of the previous owners of my vehicle. I am unable to find the Mera serial number on the vehicle though. The letter is signed by Robert. Has anyone ever claimed they have the first Mera Concept? Does anyone know any information about the first Mera Concept? Mine is silver, with a 4 speed manual. I'm just hoping to get some more documentation and verification of the car. Any information you may have would be EXTREMELY appreciated.
Thanks from a new excited Mera owner, Chris
EDIT: After searching this forum, I found pictures posted here of my car at Autorama in Detroit. That is the car I purchased.

Sounds like you not only bought YOUR first Mera, but possibly THE first Mera.. .
I don't even own a Mera, but I'm sure all the other guys here that do will be along shortly to welcome you and hit you with a bunch of questions about the car and ask for pictures...(got any pictures? ).
Welcome to the forum and I for one DO look forward to seeing/hearing more from you and about your "new" car.
I was aware that the prototype Mera was for sale and have contact and price info for the owner. I thought about buying the vehicle but did not really see a need for another Mera at this time.
Welcome to the Mera club. You will find some people here who are very knowledgable and can answer most of your questions.

Welcome from another newer Mera owner, I've only had mine for about 2 years. It's a really small group, probably less than 200 of them left in the US.
Have any Mera is good but having the first is really great, congratulations.
Yours is the only silver Mera I have ever seen. I really like it. Most Mera's are red, including my 88 (go figure). I am actually considering changing the color on mine.
HA!!! I saw this when it was new!!! there is another episode that season, I think where Tanner is like 50 miles from my house in a FIERO!! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WE3a1hb3FOA
somewhere here on the PFF I made a loose challenge toward Tanner to get his producers the run Exotics against the faster Fieros around. but was Poo poo'd by the Fiero owners here in the PFF so I gave up
guys like FieroX were down for some GetYouSum, too!! *EDIT*
found it again!! even got The DarkHorizon to bite!!!
Also, Miss Rex since your last transmission. we have another SE Mera in the Ranks!! a guy in Detroit recently bought the 1986 Prototype that is VIN confirmed an SE model.....we are running with Mera Royalty now

Mr. Dan, Wow, the 1986 prototype.. very, very cool! Is that the one in the Autorama 2010 video too? That silver Mera has the SE rear light mix (turns with the brake).. I am wondering, does the '86 Prototype have 16 inch wheels since the 15" 1988 wheels hadn't been made yet, right? cheers, Miss Rex

yes it is!!! the very same one. soo cool, I have touched the Prototype and hope to again.....soon! when I saw the tail lights in the vid I was soooo happy....helped me claim Mera X as a Mera in the end.
as to the wheels.....how'd that story go again?? something about clay mock Cromodora 15"(?) then fitted with a set of '88 production wheels after the fact. I will have to dig that PM/info up.... and will do, gladly I love playing detective
these two have more in common with each other than any other Mera besides you's and #7029. CHEERS!!
