Um, I'm not sure how to change the size of pictures posted here. I just used Paint to bring the file sizes down to around 200k . Size may be related to vertical and horizontal pixel count, but that's just a guess.
original 87 Mera emblems or repop does anyone know where i can get some im new to the forums i have #48 mera serial no.7061 that i saved from wasting away .Im glad to find a site that still talks about these cars i do need the nose badhe and the mera that goes on the back deck lid any help would be great.
since I am late.......lets start here. this is the 2nd off numbering I have seen. the Mera my buddy saw claims Mera #43, but is actually Mera #7064, I think....still working on that and this here #48 is actually Mera #7061, right?? the 1988 Mera started over at #8001 to my recollect, so theres a fudge factor if you count ALL Mera togeather..after the rumored 88 1987 Mera then starting #8001 as Mera number #89 in total production units of 247. no care as to what year produced........so I don't underdstand this new trend??

Drove the Mera to the Lake Garnett Kansas Grand Prix Revival last weekend, first time I attended so I didn't enter the show or driving events. The show was winding down when I arrived but they had me park the Mera in with the cars that were in the show. I had MERA letters on the back and the Billet Badges MERA badge on the nose so it didn't get mistaken for a 308. It generates lots of attention, it's like Casey Kelso's Trans Am from the 70's show, everybody loves it. Next year I will enter the car show, not sure about the track event, but it looks like lots of fun. I wouldn't want to ding the Mera but there were lots of really nice cars going around the track and they all survived just fine.
That was my first long drive in the car, about 250 miles. Everything went good, no problems at all, engine stayed cool even in line waiting to get into the track area. The 3800SC is way fun to drive, really pulls hard in 2nd and 3rd gears, and got somewhere between 25 and 30 MPG. Looking forward to next season and finally getting to drive it more.
here's a few pics ill have to get it out .to get some full car pics and it does have the aluminium grill under the front bumper and its a SE car . OMG i made them way to big sorry.

first I post the evolution of the Mera Trunk Sticker......in chronological order.
spot the looney?? those are all the pictures I have unless I miss one of hundreds GB on USB sticks. I have a Terabite External drive and these are the only stickers that repeat by name ......I have to get another now cuz I got a new camera and its the best ever....uses memory like a mugg tho......soooo. its interesting that the first 2 early Mera stickers back each other up.....I used to think the one guy was snaking me with that pic......2nd one being #7006 and the 1st #7005.........then the others are near enough to be similar and the last one being so close to the end that the "fast track" out the door was the only worry.........lets hear it y'all.

Dan, Thanks for working out the history of our Mera's conversion labels ! The variations have always intrigued me and now we know what the factory did. Top rate detective work :*) J
I sent my MERA letters in to Billet Badges for them to scan in. They are going to see if they can reproduce them exactly as the original letters are shaped but with the quality of their nose badges. Fingers crossed! The big question is how many people are in need of the rear truck MERA letters? Obviously, the more that need them the better the price is that we will get. Once they scan them in and figure out the cost I will let everyone know. In the meantime how many people think they may need a set, no commitment yet...just a chinwag guess.

The original letter sets used to form the MERA letters for the rear deck lid are still available if you want to do some hunting. The cost may be a bit high but you can still acquire/make "original" MERA deck lid letters. If Billet Badges can produce something similar you may have an alternative so that you can evaluate case a versus case b costs.
I hunted all the GRAND AM SE badges down during that last iteration. At least, the ones that were in the GM system. I bought those listed on ebay and craigslist and through GM clearing houses. These ones should be exact replicas except far more durable than painted plastic.
Wow! That IS a great christmas present Dan! Would you be willing to send it out to interested owners as an email attachment (to maintain the highest quality)? Thank you Dan ! lady J Look for a PM from me, K?
RottinMera got a new alternator this holiday. She was reading 11.7V across the terminals. I bought a Delco to keep her as original as I can. The ol' girl is back up and ready to roll!
Dan I see you are coming along great with Mera-X. I now work in Livonia so let me know if you want to grab a drink one day. I see a lot of new Mera peeps in here...that is awesome. Are the rules the same? Or would I be out of line for making a comment about RexGirl's looking nice rear deck lid? Just askin....

Billet Badges has completed the digitizing of the MERA letters for the deck lid. I am wondering if anyone has the 2.8 badge for the rear so we can get that digitized as well? This way they will be able to produce full sets of our badges.

I have had thoughts about putting a GTP emblem in place of the 2.8 since my 3800 came out of one.
I have a "supercharged" emblem now from the Aurora I think.
but want to find in a junkyard (good luck, eh?) a Kompressor Badge real bad black chrome. i have also on my adventures in salvage yards found these that would work well also. i love the white on red look anyway.....I even consider painting some OEM '87 wheels white for giggles

Have one of the 4 sets of the "M E R A" trunk lid badge letters that member, johnyrottin, had made up in Nov of 2013 available for sale in the for sale section. PM me a reasonable offer if interested. Goes to highest offer.
I am beginning my due diligence on Fieros because I will likely buy one. I am rather attracted to the bumper-pad style. I like that thin front nose. Never knew I had a nose fetish, but there ya go. In silver. I like those black pads against the silver panels. Old school.
However, I somehow stumbled upon this Megatron MERA thread. Holy Kamoly.
I got sucked into this maelstrom of skullduggery (and fantastic information) and have a question about the MERA, a vehicle which I never knew existed. And I was born and raised in Detroit. Perhaps the fact that I moved to California in 1987 explains my ignorance of the MERA. The car is very interesting.
Now, I have browsed about 110 pages of this monster thread, and have yet to see a MERA Serial Tag indicating original black paint. I saw that the 1988 Concepts brochure lists black as one of the color choices, but even in those old Concepts factory photos, the is no black MERA. I think a photo of a car hauler was posted and even in that photo there was no black MERA. There are a few photos of owners with their black MERAs, but if the Serial Tag is posted, the tag indicates another original color, typically red. Does anyone have a photo of a real black MERA serial tag? Hmmmm.
Oh, and this just came to mind. The Concepts brochure spells MERA with all capital letters (I think). Is MERA an acronym? NASA? SCUBA?
Well, all for now. Maybe those are silly questions, but I'm a Fiero / MERA newbie. Thanx.
