How large are your pictures/scanned items? PFF has a limit on size and may not allow images larger than specified to be posted unless they are on some other hosted site. PIP works well for me with Vista (once I downloaded the patch) and using photos of the appropriate size.

Nelson, thanks for the reply.
i thought of that size thing and it is not the case.....i shrank it soo small it is hard to read. like 32K or something. i think i missed an update in my QuickTime/HP accessories and need to get that fixed up.

i can pull pics from the Net, i just cannot get the "New" pics i take thru my HP scanner and/or camera.
maybe its a HP thing
ohhhh! new lead discovered.... thanks again Nelson. on the hunt
later

I am also using HP computers and scanners without any problem. My camera is an Olympus but that should not make any difference in the saved file format for the picture.

ohhhh.....i may have a clue!
the guy i bought Mera X from, Heath, lives/lived in Orlando......Well, he also had/has a black '88 Mera. with a NorthStar in it!!
was rumored to be Bob Braceys personal car. Mr. Bracey had one made for him and 1 for his wife in the end, appearently.
i read that SOMEWHERE! (stupid QuickTime)!!!!!!!
its killing me i got something from Rodney and i cant show you all!!!!!

anyway, Heath, also had another, Red '88 Mera. 3800 SC and CBJ T-Tops in it, to boot.
i sooooo tried to get him to sell me that one instead! no luck. he wanted to hold on to them.
but times are and were tough for him back then.....could be, he off-ed one.
his PFF name was Mera-NSX so he also had one o' them sweet NSX's and a Artero kit.....idoknotho....

with Orlando North and West, "on the way" so to speak, its elementary dear friends.. you saw a real 308, F-car.
No seriously, i vote its him. but its seems that it would be going from Orlando to Melbourne, if its my boy.

any big car shows it the area that day?
hmmmmm........interesting.

The black 88 with the N* was Bob Bracey's. I was supposed to get first option on the sale when it finally happened but was overseas and did not get the info until after it was sold. Bob's wife had a white 88 with the 2.8 L V6 and an auto transmission. It also had Recaro type seats with Chromadoras and came with a spare set of wheels and stock seats (gray). I looked at this car in the Atlanta area several years ago but did not like the price and only purchased the stock lace/diamond wheels with Mera center caps.

Email me the photo and I will see if I can post it using PIP to see if there is an issue with your photo file structure.

Don't know for sure, I was traveling for business. Being that it was a Friday, doubtful there would have been a show that day but today may very well be a different story. Now the previous weekend was the Sebring Thunder car show but I wasn't able to attend. That would have been the route to be heading north on 95 after that event. Who knows.

i sure am! 'cept, now it is more involved.......
8 newsletters, 4 pages each, printed back to back and all the info logged here in Toms thread.

not till the snow flies tho. should be pretty cool.

also i may get a chance to create a Mera/ Fiero Kit car web site.
only Mera, Aldino and Enterra. i have a friend going to Western Michigan University, here in K- Zoo, who wants to help.
he gets class credit and i get to hang out at Campus...jolly good show...co-eds.partys, i mean research and development opprotunities.
that will keep me busy and out of trouble i hope.

Tom is doing fine. He plans to keep his 88 GT and is the proud owner of a Corvette. This should be another car for Nelson's collection. At that price this car is a bargain that someone should keep stock and enjoy.

Guys,

I have more cars than I need at the moment. Let me know if someone wants either a nice F308 replica or a good 1999 Expedition.

Sounds like me, but I'd still like to have Tom's car. Only problem is I would most likely be living in it.

Hey guys!

Thanks for the good words! Yep, Rick is right...been busy with the new toy. I think I was pretty lucky to find one in this condition, with recent repairs, at this price. Check it out...looks like Christmas! Thanks to Rick and his friend, and doing research on-line, I was able to look out for the things to look out for.

The Fiero and Mera are fun cars to drive, but I gotta be honest...driving the Corvette takes the Fun Factor completely over the top.

Been so busy that I still have Mike's console-cupholder unopened in the box he sent. I'll try to post pics this weekend. And....drum roll...I was able to snag the bumper AND the two-slat grill off e-bay a while back. That's also unopened, in the box sent to me.

Later!
Tom

Very nice Vette Tom! Kinda does look like Christmas in the garage. Maybe add a little garland. Tell me about this "bumper". Is it a Rodney one? If so I am officially jealous. Sell the GT and keep the Mera.......You can always find another GT.

STILL building a spare cradle setup with ls2 and modified getrag on it for later use. but for now mera 7071, i went ahead and just bought a new sbc v8 kit for simplicity and dont have to wait til ls2 adapter machine work is done on my mill. also purchased a new champion aluminum 3 core radiator for 7071, engine is a zz4 383 with aluminum fast burn heads and lt4 hotcam kit, full roller motor, forged crank, forged rods, forged pistons, every single bolt is arp, and gm rates it at 425hp at the flywheel. purchased a new sachs hd german pressure plate, and matching clutch disc and reworked the disc with my kevlar conversion. new v8 starter. new holley 600cfm 4 barrel carb, new zz4 aluminum intake, new 409 stainless steel gm truck headers/clears the passenger axle without modification. new 409 stainless steel magnaflow mufflers/duals, 2 new round 409 stainless steel 4" exhaust tips to replace the quad tips on meras and make lower tip holes match the shape of new tips. new poly suspension kit for entire car. new subaru imprezza wrx cross drilled 13" vented rotors on all 4 corners, ferrari f430 brembo 4 piston calipers on all four corners, new stainless steel braided brake hoses. ferrari f430 19" wheels on all fours. michelin pilot tires on all fours. rough in body work is all done, still have finish bodywork to do. and paint. interior is very nice f308 kit that still looks good. took the sunroof skin off the roof and replaced it with a non sunroof skin so looks like a gtb. so hopefully in the next 30-60 days i will have a v8 powered mera that looks and drives bitchin.... as you can see im gonna be workin some late nights. mike

Thanks Mike. Mine are a little hazy so I am going to try to find a spare set in a little better condition. I think these will still look good with plastic polish applied to them.

7071 is sure going to be nice....Have you considered C6 Vette standard exhaust tips instead of round ones? They really look good on my Mera.

Rick,

If you have the standard backup lights, its not the clear plastic that makes them look bad. Here's what mine looked like:

So I removed them from the car, and using an razor knife, I carefully went around the lens housing where the lens was attached. The glue is so old that the lens will pop right off. Then I washed the housing with Dawn, lightly sanded the inside, and sprayed it with duplicolor "Chrome" paint. When you use this, it goes on dull, but then dries bright. Let it dry overnight, then I glued the lens back to the housing, and reinstalled. This is the aftershot.

Might save you some bucks by doing this yourself.

Wow Tom that is a big difference! I have to re upholster the cover behind the trunk so that will be a good time to repaint the lenses too. I never thought "chrome" paint was for real.

Tell me about your headlignts. Mind appear to be original and I would like a brighter replacements to help out my not so young anymore eyes.

Have you gotten a ticket in the Vette yet? I really have to watch myself in the Mera with the new engine. It is much speedier than it used to be.
