Hey, Do any of you guys have your original emissions, and coolant labels still attached to the underside of you Mera decklids. Mine look like photocopies held on with clear tape, just like the Du Pont paint, and production number label on my car. I was told that this is original and correct for a Mera. Can anyone verify this?
That is what I wanted to do to mine, but was told it was incorrect. My car was a one owner purchased new, and the previous owner said that the way the labels are installed on mine are original to the car. Anyone else have pictures?

my RPO sheet is old school lookin white "Label" sticker with old lookin printer typeset..... that and the tire/jack info sticker on the front lid is all i got. ohhh....and the lock lug nut under the rpo... nothing in the back. all flat black back there.

you know in hindsight Rick is probabaly the way it was..... unless GM gave Pontiac the replacement stickers to give to C.C. for the issuance of the stickers for maybe compliance with State/Fed laws??
i am grabbing at straws.....but seems logical. i hope......as in Ricks case (the Copies) to me would and should be some kind of reproduction.
plus Richards stickers look way too clean.....and neat. even Tom is not that good .....O.K. he is
D
*EDIT*......Rick.....Mera #7005......Sweden. yours look like these??
well not the closest i guess but its the only one i got. are yours in that orientation?? or close??
on the Hunt...... even Toms Mera is iffiee.....i'll let him and Nelson report in as per your request.
i got some pics with nothing like Richards.
from the monster USB archive/backup of mine......
not sure where these came from. most likely E-Bay adds this past year or so. these last 2 may not even be Meras.....but they do both have the "Mera Bar" across/above the engine.....so, they may be.

YEA!!! he even forgot in my opinion the best Exotic Fiero of them all...... the Aldino KO.....i will own one of these before i die!!!!!
the Aldinois the car i want to get the swap in to conserve Mera X. but money is the only check in both situations

What about the Stinger 355 Spyder? There was one for sale a few months ago--I wanted it! I think one of the members of this thread has one--speak up and show us some pics!
The close up picture of the rear decklid is like what I have. The Mera paint code and production number on the right, the coolant fill procedure on the left with the clear tape over it. My emission hose routing emblem is in between those . It also looks to be a copy sealed over with the same clear tape like the other two.
Maybe it is original to the car...... They modded the MERA letters, and the license plate lights. Why not photocopy the factory stickers and stick them on with clear tape like the paint code/production number tag.

I know that some of my cars have the original coolant sticker and believe that at least one has the original emissions sticker. If you want/need photos, I will see what is in the basement.

All of my coolant fill stickers are black and white so I wonder if the one in the picture is original. I know that Rodney makes a replica with either blue or black in the label.

see you guys, i believe that since GM had nothing to do with the Meras, the photocopies are the truth...... there has got to be some kind of legal stipulations between the addition of the copies and the removing the OEM Fiero stickers, maybe??
seeing that GM was not involved its the most logical solution......to me.
you know this sticker (or lack of, in my case) thing may be another early Mera thing for ME!!!!
in another thread, Cam383rs (HEY Rick, wonder if that stands for Camaro383 rally sport??) brought up the Brochure again and it gets me to think about the Red Mera in that add.......Is the Mera on the cover and the pic against the wall a REAL MERA and What number??????
this has always made me think that this Mera (pictured) has to be a very early Mera if its in the sales add for the dealerships..... the add has a 1987 copyright date on it.....and the only thing i aint got is the wheels......the Mera in the add even has a sunroof....jolly good.
man i hope Mera X is the Mera in that brochure......the one they used for early advertisement!!!!! it would clear up the mystery that is MERA X! would be cool!!!
off for more mischief.........

Nelson,
The stickers Rodney makes are correct for production Fiero's and are in the correct colors for GM. I now believe that Coorporate Concepts just made copies of these stickers and attached them with the same kind of clear tape used to install their paint color/production number id.
I would like to see pictures of what you have if possible. I think for us to properly restore these, we would need to make copies of the correct stickers and attach them with the same type of clear tape originally used. I plan to purchase a repoduction coolant fill sticker, copy it and install the copy with the clear tape. Do you know where we can purchase an emissions hose routing sticker to do the same thing? Also, Rodney lists two types of coolant fill stickers. Which one is correct for the 88?
Here is the best that I can do for the moment. Three of the Meras are in the basement (88 and two 87s) and the other 88 is off site. Looking at what is in the basement, I can provide the following photos. Note that the original cooling labels have a number on them while Rodney's reproductions do not. The print color is also different on the 88 original sticker.
Rodney reproduction Cooling labels
Original 1988 Cooling label (no emissions label available for this car)
87 T-Top Cooling Label (other 87 had no label attached)
87 T-Top Emission label
87 Sunroof emissions label

Thanks for the pictures! It appears the original owner was right. My coolant fill emblem looks just like your 88's It does have a number, and my emissions hose routing looks like the ones on your 87's. I noticed they are held on with clear tape also.
I would like to make quality copies of the emissions hose routing and coolant fill factory decals and then install the new copies with the same kind of clear tape. Does anyone here have loose factory, or reproduction, emblems they could make quality copies of? My original "copies" are showing their age and I would like to replace them with correct looking new "copies".
heres something for you Texas boys to look for......if y'all ever make it in or near Dallas.... love this color! its different for a Mera...... but sooooo F-CAR! sweet.....
found it trolling Image searches....posted April 2010! recently i might add.

I have "loose" Rodney reproduction emblems as well as an original 88 coolant sticker. I am reluctant to copy Rodney's stickers since he still has them available but would be happy to copy the original 88 coolant sticker. I may also pull one of the partially attached emissions stickers and copy that if I can figure out how to reattach it properly. If you happen to find the appropriate tape please let me know.

Thanks Nelson! That would be great. I can understand you not wanting to copy Rodney's sticker. I just purchased more goodies from him and I can purchase a repro sticker to copy if necessary. If you can get good copies of the originals for me that would be even better. I am going to look at a variety of clear tapes. To me it looks like a standard packaging tape you can purchase on a roll. I think that is why mine are starting to show their age. Hopefully I can find a better quality tape that will look correct. I got Rodneys lowering ball joints, and some other tid bits. Now I need to attack the suspension.
hey Richard???? seems that someone in a GTO club out there in the fine state of Arizona that has or had a 88 Mera. the website Arizona DesertGoat.com.....the user Lollipop....their avatar is what looks to be a Mera.
profile mentions Glendale, AZ......maybe at a local show a person with a newer '06 black GTO M6, is your new Mera pal????
and as for the blue Mera.....No blue is not a stock Mera Color......i have seen a lot of 308's that color tho.

My labels appear to be covered with a heavier laminate type material. It is much thicker than standard tape. I will see if I can clean up the original coolant sticker and scan a high quality original for you. I will also do this for the emissions label but would like to locate some tape/laminate material first so I can refasten it.

You may be right on the laminate material. I am going to look for some this weekend, and take a better look at my originals when I get home. My paint/id tag is still in great shape but the emissions and coolant emblems are starting to come off. The tape has lost its adhesion in areas.

Yeah, found the forum and the avatar, but when I checked out his profile, he lists only a GTO--this is a "Goat" forum, so maybe he only listed his Goat. Don't feel like joining just to ask him if he owns one, although I did think I was the only one in the state--be nice to confirm

yeah i hear ya.....i was just thinking you could start lookin for any GTO stuff either a club meeting (just show up in your Mera and he will come to you) or maybe at the local car shows.....they seem rather proud of their "Goats".....so i am sure they are out there.

looks like another '87 SE. like Mera X. i have found them to be quite limited for a Fiero.....and has the 3800 swap. crap, me no job with christmas and all comming sad panda. this would solve my keep Mera X stock and still play the part.... suns out. gotta go
DAN, so far on my sbc install im only out $582.00 for the new zumalt sbc kit/adapter plate, flywheel, front motor mount, trans mounts. $90.00 for the new sachs hd pressure plate and clutch kit. $68.00 for the new nissan starter. $40.00 for the new summit oil filter relocation kit. new champion aluminum 3 core radiator $185.00. and you could find a decent used sbc for $500.00 that will last for a long time in a fiero. just put new timing chain/gears, bearings, seals, and gaskets in it while its out of the car, around $230.00. so you would be setting at $1695.00 for parts. a decent to good mechanic should be able to install for around $1000.00. thats pretty cheap for good reliable hp. sbc parts are cheap and easy to fix for future upgrades and repairs. just my .02, mike in oklahoma
edit: ps.... forgot to add new zz4 aluminum intake manifold $230. new holley 600cfm carb $ 280.00 and new headers and exhaust work finished out in duals $400.00.
