i like it.....sounds nice and chambered.....sweet sound 1:28-1:38 mins.
it dont look like i would be able to use the quicksilver stuff, too big.
Tommy.....back at 'cha..... no toys for me.....i must have been a bad boy this last year
well in a way, i found myself, a miracle....out of the 6 or 7, 1987 Fiero SE's for sale this day......2 were rebodies. Mera #7029 and the other was a Zimmer Quicksilver. and they were the only V6's.
today was Fiero day on the 'puter. i am looking more toward the Fiero history of Mera X, next week or so.....love it. i like that the 87 SE is low proudced. its looking like there are more 4 cly.....than 6 cyl. makes me happy. even my Fiero part is limited. i hope the V6 production numbers are like crazy low!!
laters to all and to all a good marrow.....

I really like the sound of "tubi" systems even better, but they are a bit much $$$ for a Fiero. If we can only get a "Taiwan System" made for our cars. That would be fine for me.
theres mention of the Mera he bought on pgs. 15-16 here in the Paradise..... kinda trashed in the back and $25,000 craigslist....Ebay listed $19,000.....hope he got a good deal Mr. Holmes was first to find......Nelson come in with a Mera Number. i am off for some Pics, i may have saved.....you know me "save 'em all". i just wish i would Label 'em all.....

i recently sold the engine from my mera and it also had a ferrari plate on top of the motor. so before i shipped it i took it off. only to find an interesting plate under that that said mera corporate concepts, capac michigan... on it. has anyone else seen one of these? mine is in pretty bad shape since it had a ferrari plate glue over the top of it but still none the less. anyone?
Well, this was on the car when I bought it--I would guess Rodney knows the origin and availability.
he used to make them when the Mera Mattered..... he was going to personalize them with the mera sticker info if there was an interest also.
i see that there is a Vid from the Mera Reunion 1995 wonder if they still exsist?? i got a Number i am calling.....things busy. they are the proudcers of it. Maybe??

Rodney used to have these made. I have one on the intake of my 3.4. There is a pic of it in the El Paso Fiero Fest thread showing it after the swap. By the way I installed mine on top of the Ferrari plate.

Dan, where is that chase clip from? Looks exactly like the Hawaii Kai area...about a mile up the road from me! Wow...that looks like the back road to get to Sandy Beach, rather than going around the coast. I take it all the time.
more stuff for ya...... the address they give is 3860 Old Pali Rd.....seems to be on the way to the beach you mentioned....
The Marks Estate (1981-1988)
Establishing Shot
Front Lawn Starting with Season Two's "Billy Joe Bob" (2.1), exterior shots of the main building of the King Kamehameha Club were filmed in the Nuuanu Valley, at 3860 Old Pali Road. This location was used for the often seen "establishing shot" of the club and for close-up shots of the back entrance. A few mid-range shots and scenes were taken here as well, mostly around the driveway and front lawn.
This historic piece of property is known as The Marks Estate (after Alfred and Elizabeth Marks, the original owners) and features a 24-room Hawaii-style brick and frame mansion. The property was purchased from the Marks family by the state of Hawaii in 1956. During the 1980s, the Marks Estate was used as the headquarters for HIMAG (Hawaii Institute for Management and Analysis of Government), a local government "think tank". In 2002, the property was purchased by Unity House, a nonprofit labor organization. Recently, the estate was painted an off-white color.
Driveway
Street Entrance In a half-dozen episodes - "Billy Joe Bob" (2.1), "Computer Date" (2.14), "Letter to a Duchess" (4.6), "Murder 101" (5.8), "Blood and Honor" (6.10), and "Summer School" (6.13) - some extended outdoor scenes were filmed at this location that featured shots of main house, front lawn, back patio, driveway, and the entrance off of the main road. These are the only episodes to feature the grounds of the Marks Estate.
The Marks Estate was also used in the "Pilot Movie" for several indoor scenes of the Main House at Robin's Nest. After the "Pilot Movie" all indoor scenes of Robin's Nest were filmed on a soundstage at the Hawaii Film Studio. Prior to Magnum P.I., the Marks Estate was used for several scenes in the 1979 TV movie The Chinese Typewriter, starring Tom Selleck and James Whitmore Jr..

Dang...I attempted to drive the Mera, need to charge the battery. So I jumped in old Faithful (old Nissan Pathfinder) and I just took these photos.
Common movie technique, in fact, we see it a lot with the new Hawaii 5-O series...starts at one location, and then immediately switches to someplace else. Of course, those on the mainland don't know, but the locals here just laugh..."hey, how'd they get from here to there in five seconds??!!" I think there was one scene at a house on Oahu, and then it shows them on the road...on a different island!
Anyways, the beginning of the film clip is on the Pali Hwy, no where near the water, and the central part of the island.
Then the chase scene immediately switches to the east end of Oahu, pretty close to the water.
(This is taken opposite of their direction in the film clip, about 0:51)
And here's the T-intersection, about 1:08 on the film clip)
And there is the same house when they pull into the street, around 1:19 on the film clip:
And finally here's the intersection that they are going through, around 1:55 on the film clip:
Well, as you can see, it's a pretty nice day here, sunny and around 75 degs, with only slight trade winds today. LOL...well, that's it for the Ground Truth!
you know Tom after seeing those pictures.....gets me thinking. a Mera looks like a Mera and if say, i were to sit in your Mera in Hawaii and take a picture..... it would "Look" like i was in my Mera X in Hawaiihummmmm......NO?
all i need is cheap air fare and a half day of your time.....and the keys
we will meet in person, yet. bet on it!! in Hawaii.

ps.. i am selling the oem original mera drivers side quarter sail vent/ribbed item behind drivers side window. it is good to nice condition. pm me if interested.
i love driving by car shows....expecially the Muscle Car shows. we got a big street rod show at the fairgrounds too funner that all get out. with a little more HP in Mera X and it could get real interesting. they coinside with something at the 131 dray way too i think. with a new more Euro sounding muffler and ITS ON!!. with the pipe broke it is loud enough now to turn heads. found this to be true yesterday in fact. got a little competitive with a Subaru in the back country......then a deisel Truck.....cough, cough..... all in the name of "preventive maintainance" eat that Ins Company Inc.....
love it.....i had to check the road/tire ratio yesterday......ohhh man, 33 degrees that cold air loved the v6 and felt better than usual. thought it was going to break. 30 miles around my side of town an all is good. no flat spots on tires to report. but the rear need replacing.....check!
later D

A good friend and high school club brother lives near you--like how could you live far. He's on Haleola up behind The Bistro. He's Tom Selleck's make-up artist.
That is correct, for whatever reason the engine strut bolt cover will not fit the 88 chassis hole. They just fall out, I've tried many times on different cars to no avail.
Originally posted by reholmes: Well, RM is kind of small and about $50 just to watch--there are plenty of others. B-J is the biggest.
ohhhh man if i was out there i would buzz the area all day. i am really interested in how the "Auction Guys" feel about the Mera. now that Pontiac is gone, I wonder if they see a future gem??
wish i had access to more TV show "Car Guys".....almost had Tanner and TopGear.....and his other show "Battle of the Supercars."
but, thats for big Mike to handle POWER!!!!! HOWS IT GOING WITH MERA #7071???getyasum!!
i want a professional assessment of the Rarity of our cars.....like at Barrett Jackson. just an idea from the people who make these quick call jugments in value. HECK just a starting Bid Quote would be enough.....if given by Amy Lasiter, whoa mama! i like when the B-J guys point out the limited edition aspects of the cars.....rare color combo, chrome, cool little things......like all the Mera anomilies we have found so far.
i got to get out to Arizona sometime when the big auction season is at hand.......next year???

right on! thanks for the confirmation. hows your cars doing.....anything new for Christmas, maybe??
Dan, nice find! It is an 87 for sure. 88s do not have that silver cooling tube pointed at the coil, and also 88s have a one-piece strut cap thingy (in the photo, you can barely see one of the three separate strut washers or whatever they are called).
Dick...quite okay to hook me up with that guy. I know exactly where that is, Niu Valley area, right behind the small shopping center with "Le Bistro" restaurant (which is quite good). I wonder if he still keeps in touch with Tom Selleck? I know he still does some charity stuff here in Hawaii, dang, would be awesome to get a pic of him with my Mera. I live right down the road from him, near Koko Marina Shopping Center, maybe five mins away!
