As usual, it appears no two are exactly alike. My car came with silver center caps as well as the covers, but the caps are plain silver without any logos. Maybe they were installed by the original owner.
I wonder if Rodney still carries the wheel center "Mera" stickers?
Woo Hoo! Top of the page again.

i feel they tried to vary between the 2 years....the 1987 Meras all have the same wheels emblems and all. seems the 1987 Meras are turning to be the most kept OEM. for some reason most the 88's got all F-Car'd. haha! now not too sure if they would use the 1987 wheel emblems insted of the 88's if the OEM Fiero wheels were used due the shortage of Cromodoras....i think not...my opion, only.
the 87's are real tight togeather....along with Proto....we are a close group. i lack wheels, rear MERA letters......and till Mike gets home me tail pipes wow this year is already shaping up to be SWELL!!
ahhhhhgetyasum!! d

It counts, as long as you plan to put it back together.
I just noticed that Fiero product flasher at the top of the page. I think I know why they don't have Mera Boxers: They would always be stained from the fearsome power and sexy good looks!
I have a white set of 88 lace rims with the exact same center caps installed. These were a spare set of wheels for Bob Bracey's wife's white Mera. You need to make certain of the year of the rims to get the correct fit.

I GOTTA HAVE EM! i would not care so much or be selling my right foot, if them emblems were not present. as always with these meras its all about a stinkin' sticker

PS you guys get first crack.....
FOR SALE ONE RIGHT FOOT....SLIGHTLY USED WITH A FAINT SMELL OF BUTT THAT HAS BEEN KICKED. its only the very faintest of wiffs for i have always only kicked said butt with shoes on. but as always with anything over 40 years old there will be some imperfections. for pics or more info....you know where to inquire....thanks in advance...
WHAT!??? NO! was his name Heath?? no way! he said he was going to Vegas where he used to live...and something about his Mom, who i believe lives in AZ. what did he say?? i have shared my opinion about Mera X being a early example but he never got back with me. his mom was/is in poor health back them, so
did he mention if he still had the other 2 Meras he had when he sold me X? a 3800sc and Braceys NorthStar one Man, holding out on me Richard......i do not know
that is cool, nonetheless....now i was on to something what was it??
Interestingly, I tried to buy one of his Meras about two years ago--might have been "X" Couldn't come to an agreement. Didn't mention the other two.
As you know, there is a difference in color for the 1987 (silver/black and 1988 gold/black) wheel center covers. However, some of the 88s also came with stock lace wheels and 87 center caps. I am not certain that only the 88s were converted to F308/328 replicas since one of my 87s has the full F308 treatment. BTW, I would consider trading you a set of red/clear lights for your car if you want to swap for a stock Mera red light set. I have also sourced a limited number of the NOS letter sets used to make the rear deck lid letter set.

On the white 88 lace wheels are they the 6 in wide front and 7 in wide rear widths like the 88 GT and Formula? The 6 in front wheel will not have a lip. I have a set of gold 88 crosslace wheels, but I thought they would not look correct on the 88 Mera.
Interestingly, I tried to buy one of his Meras about two years ago--might have been "X" Couldn't come to an agreement. Didn't mention the other two.
Yeah, his mom lives here.
there are a lot of meras in FL or at least at one time anyway. i have docs with a bunch up here, natural seein they came from here. and the Bosses are here.....both CC and GM .
Richard as you know i got X t years ago now....well a strong 21 months or so....i bet it was. i offered to buy one of the others but he would not budge....worried me to say the least. but in the end i am glad i got Me X. i love it to death. i have had such fun finding the little Mera things about My car it has been worth the price of admission!
as always if Mera X is a total Kit i will have Mike(Mera7) of FieroX do something evil back there and call it good!! WIN, WIN!!
which brings up Waynes "You know..." thread....later

yeah i know. seems the silver/black letters only fit the Fiero Wheels.....but the Black/silver letters are the "New" style for only the Cromodoras. thats why Rodney has the black/silver letter ones in that framed pic. its the only ones he had, they are the ones off his car...i assume.
so if you can find a pic of the laces with the black/silver letters....i believe this will prove true....unless they ran out of any of these emblems ever, during the intial production...i cant figure that into the mix until then see fun fun fun...i love it.
as far as the offer Nelson...i will have to pass...unless i prove Mera X to be a Proto-type of some kind. i have to go the other way.....Mera1 all the way around. if i have a proto then by all rights i should cop to the #6001 template.....thats still in the works yet.
i do tho, need the 2.8 V6 i see got one?.... and are you sellin the letters?

say Rick? the Gold laces are only good on the 88, right? if they are painted thats different also maybe?
the Grey Laces are all other years....i thought. outside of the Meras dont all Fiero Laces only come grey or in 1988 gold only, too. it is confusing with the offset only in the 88's. but then again.....MERA #7064
stiring....and stiring....

The front and rears are different widths but I have not ever measured them. However, I expect that they are bone stock for all the 88.

Let me know if you want a set of letters. They are not cheap but add a lot to the car. They will be somewhere between $125 and $150 for the required letters (have to buy all the unneeded letters also).

Rodney has some repro decals that have black background with silver or gold letters. They are essentially reversed from the factory ones. BTW, Rodney has both 87 and 88 Mera center caps in his framed display if my memory serves me.

i have the oem mera badges from the back of my mera. the "gts" and the "2.8v6" also have the driver side louvered qtr panel. if interested pm me. these are originals not repros.
for the 1987's......agreed!! i wonder what center they used on the 1988 lace Meras when they ran out of Cromodoras?? thats the question i think. they had to use the 1988 lace wheels because of the weird off-set that year, right?
we need a picture of the Cromodoras with a Silver background and black letters like the pic you posted. that would change things a little....or a 1987 Lace wheeled Mera with the Black background and the sliver letters.
are any of the OEM Mera wheel centers just a sticker....or they like printed?? you know what i mean.....anybody know how Rodneys Reproduction differs or is similar??
dan, if you want a set of mera1 lenses ill trady you for your carellos. new set of mera1's. but honestly i think if your car is a proto they came with carellos and you should probably keep it that way. my .02
They are stock center caps but have the factory MERA overlay applied to the stock polished metal center cap. This overlay used a clear/transparent portion and the circles/letters in black for the 1987 Meras. Rodney's current stickers have a silver background instead of a clear one. If you need closeup pictures let me know and I may be able to show you the difference.

RIGHT ON, NELSON!! thanks for that fact. that is what i had hoped for. a "clear" difference between the Mera OEM and the Dickman repros. Pun intended cool i need to verify the clear background on the FL wheels and be done.
thanks again, Nelson. you get a +1.

buy the set of cromadoras nelson just bought... wink wink
honestly i do not want the cromodoras.....too much like the F-Car. i like the BBS spoke style. but that is why i want them FL Mera Wheels. plus they are what I need for the 1987 Fiero anyway. it help me get the monster spacers that are on it now. i got the plan. not just to execute.....not looking to good.
If you want to see what Chromadoras look like on an 87 Mera, I will take a few pictures when I get back home. My last acquisition has two sets of wheels and is wearing the Chromadoras right now.

dan... ok in my opinion i would buy nelsons 88 wheels for three reasons... first, nelson is a safe purchase versus this other guy you dont know at all... second, these are the wheels of braceys wifes car... cool history. third, nelson will ship to you... my .02

Dan,
The owner of this Mera had done some accent painting on the roof and side coves. He could have painted the wheels as well. They appear to be the correct 7 in wide front and rear wheels your Mera requires. There is a picture listed on ebay that shows 87 Meras during final detail at Coorporate Concepts. Some of these cars have accent painted wheels too. Perhaps this car was one of them also.
You can purchase any 86 or 87 GT 7 in wide wheels and install Rodney stickers on the caps if you don't put the deal together on the ones you showed us. GT wheels are pretty prevalent and not very expensive.
I have a set of factory gold 6 and 7 in 88 crosslace wheels, but have never consided putting thme on the Mera. Maybe I will bolt them up to see how they look. I have never seen an 88 Mera with crosslace wheels. I would be able to tell by the flush front wheels without a lip which is correct for 88 only.
Dan, do you have spacers on the front and back wheels you currently have? How wide are they?
[This message has been edited by Rick 88 (edited 01-31-2011).]
rick i believe he did. i would have but saw he was already on them so i bowed out. professional courtesy thing.
I did not know he was after them. I had a friend go by the store and check them out. After I heard back from him, I wanted to purchase them but was told they had been sold by the owner, instead of the store. Oh well......I thought all Nelsons Mera's already had Cromodoras.

thanks for the tip.....so are these the right ones for the 1987? or these from an 1988?
is the 7in the important thing?
i have backed out of the deal anyway.....now to talk to Nelson
ohhh...yeah i got some huge spacers on ft and bk.....like 2 or 2.5 inch. thats why these wheels are also needed, to drop these spacers I got for even more spirited driving...

The ones pictured above are correct for your car. Make sure the wheels you are looking at have about a 1 in, lip front and rear. If no lip they are 6 in wide 88 front wheels.

seems to be some truth to the info i was just told about the 1987 Valve stem being at the end of a diamond and not inside one. thanks for the info Guys. Dan
