She's back on the road!!!! What a blast, still draws looks like a streaker in church! Funny the things you forget, like the "loss" of rear view vision, or how much fun it is to replace the dip stick. One thing I did notice...I must have a low front tire, I got this shake at 100mph

You might just want to check that tire if you plan on going that fast all the time.
Wow... I just spent all day looking through this awsome thread. It's been over a year since I been on here. I can't belive all the Mera hype. Great stuff. Just to fill you guys in, My name is Julian and I own 8071. I had her since 2000. She is in sweet shape. I just recently put new tires on her with raised white letters. SWEET!... I am in the process of putting the Mera badges back on but I was wondering if anyone has made reproductions since mine are faded and chipped. I would never sell the originals but I would like to replace them. I specially like the fender decal back on the early pages of this thread. If anyone has links or e-mails on who I should talk to please PM me or post in here. By the way I found some sweet letters on e-bay that only cost a few dollars each and are "close" to the MERA font. Just a hair taller and you see space between the letter "E" whereas the MERA letter "E" is a solid square with no spaces (air) between the stems. I may use these but am not sure yet.
Now let's see if I remember how to upload pics.....
Ok Guys here is a question for the "Mera knowledge Base". I just lowered my 88 Mera about an inch all the way around. I did the front with Rodney's 1 in. lowering ball joints, and the rear with a cut down 88 spring. Originally I tried lowering the front additionally by installing a spare set of 88 GT front springs with 1 coil removed. Well it looked wicked, but it was just too low for daily driving. So I reinstalled the front springs that came with the car. It now has a really nice look with less gap in the fender openings, rides well, and still clears speed bumps/driveways/mosquitos etc....
My question is: Did Corporate Concepts install higher rate springs to make up for the additional weight of the Mera bodywork?
My "original" front Mera spring is tapered to a "flat" at the top where every other 88 GT front spring I have seen is not flat. Does anyone else have tapered front springs on their Mera? I am the second owner of this Mera. We found car does have some mods by the original owner. When we lowered the rear I also addressed a squeaky rear suspension issue. l found out the rear suspenison links have all been replaced with lightweight tubular arms with urethane bushings that appear to be from "Held" or some other supplier. We disassembled the entire rear suspension and all bushings and links were lubed with high temp anti sieze. Hurray, not one squeak since!
Rick, I can't help you with the suspension issue but I can tell you that I took the easy way out to get rid of the gap above the wheels and wheel well. I went up a size in tires. Not only does it look good but it makes it look tougher, specially with the BF Goodrich raised white letters. Almost a cross between a musclecar with Italian flare. I have the Corporate Concept build sheet for my car and it does not address any suspension mods. I hate to sound like a broken record but, wait till Rodney gets here and he'll set us straight.
I guess you car looks kind of like those Panteras that have the Goodyear Arrivas with white letter tires. There is a black Mera on the thread done this way also. My car seemed to be sit excessively high so I felt it was necessary to drop it a little. I also have an additional set of 18 inch staggered wheels and tires that I will be installing from time to time to change the look.
I sold an original yellow 88 GT I had for eleven years after I purchased my Mera. I have owned 3 different yellow cars, but my Mera (8011) is red with factory Beechwood GT leather seats.
I am interested in the letters you found. I am also working on some emblems for our cars you may like too. I sent Dan pictures of them he should post on this thread soon.

My tires are old and square. One, I can't replace them, two, they keep me under 75!
I pulled off the Gatorbacks and put them on the shelf. I am running 265/50/15's in back and 215/60/15's up front. It steers much easier, and rides great. I still try to keep it under a 100.
Here is a good story... I purchased my MERA in 2000 and last year I was cleaning out a kitchen drawer that had some old photos in it. In one photo it shows my wife who at the time was pregnant with our first son and she was photographed by me at the Detroit North American Auto Show. So since our son was born in May 1988 I would say the photo was taken at the February 1988 auto show. The entire set of pictures are of the auto show. And guess what car was in the photo.... YUP a friging fly yellow MERA GTS. What are the odds that "maybe" I photographed in 1988 the MERA that I would buy 12 years later? I know there were more than one yellow MERA made but just the thought that "MAYBE" ....maybe.... it was fate!
There was also a Black MERA photographed.... their display was next to the Fiat X-19's and there was a crowd around the MERA's but no one looking at the X-19's LOL. I remeber the crowd was 3 deep.

Anyways....that's my story.
thats a cool story.....were the Mera arranged in this manner?? and what kind of wheels are on the Yellow Mera in your pictures?? if they are cromodoras, you may be on to something. you got a fairly low production 88 Mera with #8071
taken from the Mera Registery NewsLetters.
if anyone of you Mera guys (NELSON!) want me to get more info/pics of the Proto....get a hold of the seller(Alan) and arrange a date and time. IT WOULD BE MY PLEASURE, as you all well know
getyasum!!

had to print, then rescan. then, re-size to post with PIP. the PIP dont like PDF and/or PNG images or whathaveyou........... cell phone pics?? NOPE, PIP dont likey. but here we go.
Yes I have the Chromadoras on my MERA.... I think all 88's had them....right? Does not matter if it was a low production number. The pic in the article is from the Columbus SEMA show, and if the two cars are yellow and black then it may be the same 2 cars that were in Detroit earlier that year. They use the same plastic chain fencing. Not sure what is on top of the light coloured car but do I see a hint of a sunroof?
Showing the new 60 series tires that fill the wheel wells nice.
Showing the ass end with badging not yet installed.
I love the fender badge just posted with the MERA GTS heading. Is the Corporate Concept intended to go lower rear between the door & rear wheel?

Thanks for posting the pictures of the Mera GTS fender badge and Corporate Concepts door sill badge I am working on.
Guys, if any of you are interested in these I am having Paul at Fierosails do the design work for me. I have also send him pictures of the side badges of the 308 courtesy of Dan to see if he can come up with something appropriate for them as well.
These are the designs I am going to use on my Mera. I am sure he can change them up if you want something different. If you like these then just let me know and I will post prices for the current design. PM me with any questions.

i was refering to the Mera in the old Pictures you found. do they have cromodoras??
and not all 88's had them as it turns out. seems some may have not had the Cromordoras due to a shortage in the supply chain. Rodney has comfirmed this in the "Paradise" thread somewhere i think.
