Guys, if any of you are interested in these I am having Paul at Fierosails do the design work for me. I have also send him pictures of the side badges of the 308 courtesy of Dan to see if he can come up with something appropriate for them as well.

These are the designs I am going to use on my Mera. I am sure he can change them up if you want something different. If you like these then just let me know and I will post prices for the current design. PM me with any questions.

Rick

i would be down for...... "Designed by Corporate Concepts" to fit in my Pininfarina plate. that would be cool.

black letters on a shinny silver looking sticker.....

my Pininfarnia is loosing its luster anyway.

I just updated the thread to show some examples of the angles and the style we are looking for on the cover shots.

The issue for this contest will have our normal content in the 20 page issue but the Mera will be the feature article and will take up about 4-5 pages (including images) we are looking for both cover shots and shots for the interior of the magazine.

If you have any questions please feel free to e-mail us at meracontest@fierofocus.com

The font I used for the top of the fender "shields" was as close a match as we could find to the chrome MERA lettering on the decklid. The shield colors will be reversed on mine. The pegasus will be black and the background yellow. These colors can be change to what ever you want for your car if you are interested.

The Corporate Concepts emblems will install on the center plastic plug in the doorsills of the car. I think this will give the car a more production look. I am still deciding what color these emblems will be, but currently considering a bushed silver, or liquid silver color. I am also thinking about installing a shield for the rear tailight panel on the left side. Any opinions on this?

I was joking about igloos.... actually I'm south of Detroit (Yup... Canada is south of Detroit...Mapquest it)... I live just outside Windsor Ontario and work in Dearborn MI. So I cross every day. Tee ya what... you get a pic of your Mera with the Ambasador Bridge on the US side and I'll do the same on the Canadian side.

Come visit some time and don't forget that Ontario allows women to walk around topless (seriously).... hey whait a minute.... I just got an idea for my photo contest shoot.

BUYAAAAAAAACHAKAAAAA!

On this thread a few pages back it names who to email your pictures to. Also include a short bio of your car.

Pardon my ignorance, plus I have a few years of catching up to do to get back in the "loop" for this site.....but.... I see posts in here from a MERA-X. In 100 words or less can you explain how this vehicle is a MERA and not a kit? I know MERA's have build numbers and I assume since it is refered to as "X" it doesn't? I'm not being rude in any way....it's just this thread is too long to get all the pieces for the X-FILES.

I had a few requests for interior shots of my MERA. I had the chance to redo the interior and the Fiero gray was drab to say the least so I decided to go with a nice two-tone black on gray. MrMike does a great job. I also had hiim embroider the MERA font as well as the build number on the seat backs. I love the new look. Black carpet helps but I need to vacuum next time before I take a pic

I am also attaching an old pic of what she use to look like with 245-50-15..... now she sports the 255-60-15 with raised white letters.

lets see......i could use pictures,Quotes or my own discoveries about ole Mera X.

In a nut shell Mera X has too much in common with Mera #6001 and Mera #7004 to not be a Mera.
Rodney has said that the real early 1987 Mera may in fact not had the sticker. but for me with out the sticker i dont know my build #.

so you are correct the "X" stands for the "Unknown X". unless i find i have Mera #7010 then its going Roman! hahahahaaa....
i have also seen quotes stating that there may be another ProtoType out there i may have that car

i know its all jumbled up back there with the long drawn out posts of mine.
but at the end of the every day, i believe i have a 1987 Prototype or Mera #7001, #7002, or Mera #7003!!!
i say that cuz we have not found them yet. but Meras #7005 and #7006 and accounted for also.
and i have the same seats as both. thats what makes this hunt interesting, the similarities my mera has with the very early 1987's.

is that less than 100, words?

Daniel

notice that they both do not have the Drivers/Passenger selector adjustment....
i have sales documents that state the 1987 Mera had manual Drivers mirrors, thus the lack of the switch for left/right side.

Mera #6001

Mera X

and these are from Mera #7004 found in Sweden....

they are reverse stitch from the actual Ferrari 308 design.....thats cool!

Yes the original MERA came with 265-50-15 rear and 245-50-15 front. My car came with 245's in all 4 corners from the previous owner. I tried to install factory sizes but I could not find 245's and 265's from the same manufaturer. So then I considered going one size larger (60's) just to fill the wheel wells. I had a line on some OLD Gatorbacks but the price was out of this world and they were past their "best before" date....LOL

I still have the gunmetal gray 87 Mera as well as the red 88 in the recent Daytona Pictures. There are also two more that live at my house (one 87 and another 88). The old guy behind the red t-top Mera is me.

Dan,

I hate to burst your bubble, but both of my 87 Meras have the standard set of Vitalini power mirrors and left/right switch.

notice the ends on both cars are pointed....ouch! i always cut my knuckels when i wash back there

Mera #6001

Mera X

notice that they both do not have the Drivers/Passenger selector adjustment....
i have sales documents that state the 1987 Mera had manual Drivers mirrors, thus the lack of the switch for left/right side.

and these are from Mera #7004 found in Sweden....

they are reverse stitch from the actual Ferrari 308 design.....thats cool!

no bubble to burst remember this little sales sheet??

i got one from Rodney so i know its real, cuz i got one at the time of Purchase from my seller Heath, also.

some 1987 Mera at one time had a Manual Drivers mirror, standard.
confirmed by the 1986 Mera Prototype, hopefully. i need one good pic of the base to see if wires go into a motor.
only because the 1986 Mera has no selector in that photo and mine does not either i hedged my bet in assumption.
it could bite me but oh well 1 out of 6 aint bad.

the '86 also proved my theory about having a round trunk with the snakeskin/aluminum flashing.
seeing as my Mera and the 86 are based on the SE it only seemed logical .
its back there in the monolith somewhere when i made this bold prediction.
thats so cool to have archived back there! i just a good guesser, thats all...

so if the fates play fair i may see ole '86 myself this weekend to confirm what the 1986 Mera has.
heck, i do not even have a hole or wires in the door panel to have had power if so. hope it dont either
i doubt i can take the mirror off the 86 but i feel confident that my theory will prevail.

i got to call my insurance to see if i can get one day early. maybe make a trip East to break Mera X in and gety some comparision shots before it sells out of state or something.

so its cool to finally have a leg to stand on without a Mera sticker after 2 full years of whining about not having the sacred paparius...

I just spent a few hours reading this whole thread and I must admit it has rekindled my interest in Meras...could there be one in my future?

That may be what the spec sheet says, but both of my confirmed 87 Meras have two power mirrors as well as the left/right control on the joystick. If there is a disagreement, I think that the actual production vehicle equipment should over ride the initial spec sheet. Soime Meras may have had the manual/power combo but neither of mine (including an early one [7014]) had this arrangement.

.... ok I have a silly question....did you run the MERA-X vin through Rodneys data base? I sent Rodney my vin number & he faxed me my Mera build sheet. He knew the year & build number.

So any MERA get togethers in Michigan coming up? Or in the North East.

I was posting some things a year and a half ago in this thread with some ideas, here was one of them:

Nothing ever came from any of it, though.

Yeah, Zig, that was a good one--was about to suggest you reverse the red, white, and blue to show better on a red car, then the subject sort of died.

yulp at the time i bought it. he said he did not have it. but then the question came to mind if he has a FULL VIN List.
he has not commented on this very much, actually Rodney himself hardly shows in this thread. it sucks cuz he knows so much.

if he has a full VIN list then it should have never been mentioned that "ALL" 1987 Mera were GT's cuz its all there in the vin list.
5th digit code "F"= SE theres debate over the '88's all on Formuals too, we have a couple of GT's right here, Rick annd Nelson

not to start any beef, but even the New Mera page has the statement that 1987 Mera were ALL GT's. that is not true.
Mera #7029 is Vin'd as an SE as is the 1986 ProtoType. i even seen an article where it mentions the SE as the base for most Meras.
Then Tom has that other article about the 25 or so SE Mera......so i did not make this up. i think its cool as all get out

if anything the Production Meras (both years) are the ones to have changed.
like the 1988's without the Cromodoras due to the shortage of supply.

as far as i can tell my Mera and the proto only differ in 3 ways- the year, the wheels, and i have an automatic transmission.

i wonder if Rodney has Mera #7001, #7002, #7003 accounted for. this is why i wish he was more active here and/or on his own site.
http://pontiacmera.com/

anyway its way over 50* so its time to play outside...

Later

Daniel

I do read this. I have little free time. In time I may find the ambition to work on Mera stuff. I only have a partial VIN list. If there was another 86 Mera made I think I would have heard about in all the years I have been around Mera's. Not to say there was not another 86 Mera but I have never heard of this in all my years.

If I had the time I would start typing up a lot of the write ups I did in the Mera newsletters. That is the way to go instead of taking pictures of the actual newsletters. I sent you all the Mera newsletters. If you have free time start copying (typing them) them so the guy can add them to the Mera web page. Example: Excerpts from Mera newsletter #1.
