It looks much better clean!!! Get some high temp black paint and get after the exhaust pipes where they are exposed under the bumper. It looks to me like your car has been lowered already. That saves you some work and $$. Have you had it up on a lift to check the suspension yet? The Bird looks fantastic. Did you do the resto?

You Guys are not doing your job, we can't let this thread die!
OK...I will throw in a "fresh" question: Those with a stick, do you find it very "stiff" when you first start out in the morning (I am talking about the CAR here boys)!! Very clunky, hard to **** , feels like your pushing it through a box of gravel? Has anyone else had this problem, OR, have you found a fix for it?
WWP
Where did these black cars come from? I started my post and there was nothing up here since last week! Well, anyway it's nice to see you have been "busy." Nice car by the way

Wayne,
Before you do anything check your clutch master cylinder to see if it is low. If the fluid is black or dark, drain the fluid, flush the line, and put in new fluid. Your clutch may not be fully releasing which causes a hard shift when cold. If the fluid is clean and you have no leaks in the hydraulic system then try the following.
These are two things to do that may help. First, unless it is fresh, drain the trans fluid and replace it with GM Synchromesh fluid. If you do not know if the trans has Synchromesh fluid then definitely drain and refill. Also your shift cables could be either wearing out, or just dirty. You can remove the console, find the cables and spray some Teflon spray on the ends where the cables come out of the sheath. Move them back and forth and clean the ends with a cloth. The spray them again. You may notice a difference just with this. You can also do the same thing at the transmission end of the cables also. If the cables are still binding it may be time to replace them.
My Getrag shifts great, and really makes this car. I would not have purchased my Mera if it was not a manual gearbox. The sound it makes going thru the gears is music to my ears. The car is much quicker than with the automatic, and a blast to drive on the mountain roads in our area. Try out the things I mentioned, and you should feel some definite improvement in the shifting.
I have also installed Rodneys short shifter on mine. The throw is much better than with the original stick, and the pattern is much tighter. I recommend this on any manual transmission Fiero.
Hope this helps.......

I believe that I still have links to the MERA assembly process film. Let me know if anyone wants them.
Nelson
are you refering to the videos produced by "Zillion", off the FieroNews site?? if not, you know i want also....thanks Nelson
wonder if its the same?? about 5 1/2 minutes long. its so cool.
but guess what!? this video has at least 2 Mera being loaded onto a Car carrier WITHOUT BACK UP LIGHTS!!! a silver one and a RED one.....its hard to see in the shot because they are scrolling text over the image but the first two clearly have no Ford backups.......oh SNAP!!
Mera Fact!! some Mera came from the Factory without white Backups.....CONFIRMED!!!!
Theres also mention of a "Test Car". it is referenced when talking about Car and Driver Magazine and a review they did...... wonder whats up with dat?? Test Car?? would that be a separate Mera from the regular production? the plot thickens!!!
getyasum!!

no leaves in the trees....dark, rainy....looks cold....yellow grass i am going to say the first part of this video is in March 1987!
the Car and Driver article is found....they got their test car from the Long Pre, CA dealer that Richard and Toms Mera came from. the truck being loaded in the video is clearly in MI, the next scene is a shot of what seems to be the same truck in front of the Long Pre, CA dealer.....
the date on the article is June 1987.....the video i got would have been released just after that.... only 2 months left...July, August cuz the 1988 Fiero will be available in September of the same year,no?? my guess the article was written in April/May.....humm?? all the wheels i can see in the factory shots have the 1987 Diamond spoke, i see none with Cromodoras!! coolcoolcool. this vid may not have any 1988 Mera in it at all.... JACKPOT!!!
The factory is real clean and looks to be real early in the Mera birth....not alot of clutter and/or fiero bodys lying around.
this is epic!! i got to go stare some more....
later

You need to post those items you want in the mall (want to buy) section. They are generic Fiero parts so you will get more people reading your request.

Yes, my wife and I are constantly restoring her firebird. It took second in show last weekend at a local car show in OKC. I am installing a lift in the shop for my June birthday then she will go up and the real work begins. He replaced all shocks and struts jest before selling it to me. On a side note, have any of you ever noticed that your wife/girlfriend gats jealous of your car? What I mean is, I am always looking for reasons to run to the store or other short errands and my wife guggests that I should take her car or my truck hinting that she doesn't want me to take the Mera. Of course she takes it every chance she gets. Am I alone here guys?

I know the video you are talking about Dan & Nelson. Does anyone know how to post it on YouTube? It sounds like the promotional video that the dealers would play on VHS in the showrooms to promote the Mera option. Rodney has a copy also. I think we tried loading it up on the "inter-web-machine" a long time ago before YouTube.
I hope we're not talking about the video I once saw of a Florida "company" showing how to reskin a Fiero. I think it was dated December 1989....well after the molds were destroyed. Ferrari lawsuit was in June 1988.
As for the Mera without the Ford backup lights....I think we are talking about the first Mera ever made...the prototype that was painted different colours (colors) for different shows and is also shown in the brochure. I would be interested to see the film with two Meras without the Ford backup lights. Interesting. Good find.

Even though my wife can drive a 5-speed, she prefers to ride with me, rather than have to shift. She does get a little jealous if I spend too much time playing with the Mera. As far a wanting to run off with my car, that is not an issue. She has her three "C" cars to choose from: CRV, CTS, and Corvette. Yes, her Vette can kick my Mera's a**, but I look much cooler

Thius is the link to the FieroNews site (http://www.fieronews.net/fusion/downloads.php). It has five files on Mera assembly if I remember correctly. However, it has been a lomng time since I have watched them and may be slightly off.

After looking at the FieroNews video tapes again this evening, I am not convinced that they are related to the Mera assembly process. The first tape is time stamped in 1989 and that it is after the Meras were no longer produced. This may be an assembly guide for a F308 kit car. The fifth tape also mentions the south Florida location and that is not where Meras were assembled by a long shot!

Nelson these vids are already linked in this thread and are not Mera at all. http://www.fieronews.net/fu...nloads.php?cat_id=19 this company (Xillion) is in Florida not MI. if anything they are the enemy. but it is a good view if you want to see what to look for if its not a Mera. one thing of concern i had was the bondoing in of the door handles.....its this way on Mera X
anybody else look to see how their door handles are affixed?? wonder if this "Xillion" did splash molds?
the vid i have is totally Mera....its the Promo copy like Julian said, playing on the VCR at the showroom....its badass. there are clearly Mera without back ups you can see the carellos as plain as day while loading them on to a "Portable Parking Lot"....multi-shots thruout the 5 1/2 minutes.
i have contacted Mera.com and Rodney has cleared the vid and i am trying to copy as we speak, bloody codex they have said they will post it there for all to see....trying to get some screenshots also....
later Daniel

Daniel you rule..... see if you young kids can figure out how to put it up on the inter-web-machine and YouTube. I've seen the tape and it rocks. It's a must see if you're a MERA owner.
So who has not sent in a pic of their MERA yet for the Fiero Magazine? *Raising my hand* I should have a few pics ready for this weekend...... looks like the snow is melted, and most polar bears are stuck on the floating pieces of ice drinking coke.

Tiger style beats Wolf style in every Martial Arts film i have seen
TEST!! nope....anybody know how to convert a BMP.image into something that the PIP will take....i got all kinds of screen shots from the video but they wont show in the PIP window.....crap!!! noncompliant, dingdongmachines!! so frustrating!! i can send them in emails but not here or on MySpace....might try a youtube account to get this posted here!! its got to be in this thread, no??
Nelson has been kind enough to help me obtain the correct "MERA" letters. Further, Tom should have the correct hood ornaments on their way soon. A few bits and bobs on their way from Fiero Factory as well. Should have the car 100% sorted in a few weeks!
Not to change topic, BUT...an answer to a question that I think Dan (aka 666) brought up waaaaaay back in this tread, just came up. The question was about the Ferrari that was blown up on Magnuim Pi, I think it was called "Did you see the sunrise?"
The character named Mac blew up with the car. Well I just found a post by him that answers the question about just "what" blew up, here it is:

In actual fact, the shell of a car that was really blown up in the shot was a Camaro body.
Mac
I am not going to say I told you so Dan but.....I TOLD YOU SO!
For the record "Mac" passed away Aug 23, 2008 of liver cancer. (RIP Mac.)

Nope, not yet. I have to be out of town for a bit, but after that I will. I did though get my air horns in, "easy install" IF you have the hands of a spider monkey! But they do sound like the car looks.
