Guys, I found some sets of the same letters as Nelson found. I have ordered them...all of them...and I will be ending them to a professional model builder to make 100% correct. He is also thinking about resin asting the letters for us so they can be perfectly duplicated down the road. I will continue my search for more letters and keep buying them and having them done!

Don't get me started with the F-guys...... I already have 3 tickets saying that I was illegally parked in a spot reserved for north American cars only, and the next time my 308 is spoted in this parking lot it will be towed...... I entered my car in a car show last July at Ford World Headquarters (yes the real Headquarters) and they had an area for the Mustangs, one for the F150's, one for Model T's, one for the rest of Ford, then GM, then Chrysler....and across the street was an area for imports. I show up at 6am waiting to get staged and I'm the second car there. I was told to come back at 10pm when the rest of the imports are allowed to stage. I showed my paperwork and was allowed in.... I parked in the GM area and if it wasn't 6 it was 8 times that I was approached by security to move my car........... I once even had a few young kids in a 4x4 stare at my car at a light, and as I pull away to make my right turn one yells out NICE FIERO (sarcasticly)..... I think I'm going to add a Pontiac arrow on my back plate next to the drivers reverse light or maybe a "YES IT'S A PONTIAC" letters at the top of my windshield...... crap, I organize the annual Italian Car Parade here in Windsor and I would NEVER drive my MERA in it, at least that's the excuse I used on my wife so I can justify buying an Alfa Romeo Spider LOL

That reminds me....I best get some pics this weekend for the Fiero Rag.

Off topic, but a fun vid--this was filmed in our neighborhood. Paula used to live down the street, but she and her husband split up ;-)

Dan,

Great pics. So what does the end of the bracket inside the foam look like, and what is it connected to in the bumper? It may be merely embedded in the foam. If that's the case you could have a new left-side bracket fabricated and embed it with rattle-can foam.

Keep the pics coming!

its supposed to be a magnifing glass

looks like they are tube steel welded to retangle flat stock and then set in the Foam.
the foam has weird holes and flutes in it, so i am guessing its the rig CC used to mold and hold the bumper to fit right and expeidate mass production.

i almost knocked the good one out so i think i have to make totally new brackets and find a foam replacement.
one that is water proof this time maybe no foam and fasten it in the end, 2 holes some bolts...
i dont know, this may take a minute of thought.

8046 has only the top one on each side--doesn't even have the captive nut that the bottom bolt would screw into--though it does have the access channel through the foam--see pics a few pages back. Other than that it is very similar to Dan's

For me, the F430 Spider is the ULTIMATE car for all times. I just can't get enough. I think I need to sell all my cars and house then convince my wife and kids that living in a box is really cool as long as you drive the F430...with a trailor hitch...to haul the kids around in.

heres another thing i learned at the track....this F430 is wrapped (lower) in flat red as a stone chip berrier.....

http://www.myspace.com/video/rid/110110520

and i was wondering what this was on Mera X??? duh!!

and this black almost feels and looks the same, but on the 430 it was smooth......

wonder how much that costs

Dan,

On my Mera the lower paint has an anti chip finish which seems pretty durable. It has a pebble finish compared to the smooth paint on the upper surfaces. I don't know if it shows up in the pictures I emailed to you.

By the way, isn't this the Mera thread, or has everyone gone over to the "Italian side" ? My favorite is a 355 Berlinetta with a real stick, and clutch pedal. No "flappy paddles" for me

any of you "Red" Mera guys know what paint we have?? its time to paint my nose...i have had first batch Nose Emblems but have yet to install. cant seem to find the match. i have yet to try "bright" red (looks too dark) and "Flame Red" which is what Richards #8046 is painted i think. Tom suggested a Match but it was too light for my "Red".

victory red...too dark.

Dan I love you like a brother..... every time I come on here I either get excited with all your new picks or get a chuckle on your comments.....

I specially like the quote above..... LOL

As for paint, I think Rodney repainted his with the MERA red. I could not find info on the paint number for my yellow MERA so I had the paint shop do a few colour matches before I was 100% satisfied that it was close to the original. Mine too had a rough stone guard finish for the rockers.

ok...my turn to throw a little bit of Italian horsepower your way. Once a year I am the event organizer for the Italian Performance Car Parade here in Windsor. Here are a few shots taken by my friend Mauro.

I have a few more but I need to scale them down a little for this site. Give me a few minutes....

Oh yeah...
86 se no power potions
57,000 miles
leaky sunroof, rear deck, lid doors
ugly red interior
automatic trans
American racing wheels with spacer in the back redrilled in front (ugly).

I usually don't like red interiors but I love the seats! Not too bad at all.

victory red...too dark.

Dan, seek and you shall find...... The correct color is "DuPont Red B8590L" This is the red that is factory original to the Mera.

Dan,

One of the advantages of having a MERA sticker is that it gives you the code number for the factory paint. I am certain that someone on here has a MERA with factory red paint and can confirm a code. None of mine were originally red so I cannot help out on this specific issue.
