The seats look similar to Dan's and the console and door panels resemble Tom's interior.

hey Rick....does the 1987 ElPaso Mera have the cut pile carpet?

and do we all feel that there is a difference in the 87 leather tuck and roll compared to the 1988 (Toms) tuck and roll??
according to that letter....the 1988 was to get a redesigned leather treatment.
but maybe that was canceled because of the phasing out of the Fiero.

and speaking of Toms Mera if he has a Formula and he has leather seats, does that mean his seats are the new Mera leather seats??

i have to stop with questions and do more staring.....i can not quite see the change. i thought TOMMY had the Fiero leather seats......

Interestingly--just noticed after two years with the car--there is cut pile carpet in the document "cubby" at the drivers elbow.

So, what's with that SD car--been on the market forever. Seems like a pretty nice car and decent price.

I just clicked this photo of the RPO sticker on my 88 Fiero GT T-top parts car. As you can see column two from the left top "CJB". This car was ordered from the factory to have a T-top. When it came off the assembily line, it was sent to C&C for the conversion then on to the dealer.

Had the "CJB" not been on the RPO sticker but the car had the T-top. Ether the dealer sent the car "OR" the owner took it themself to C&C!

Tim Perrgo who bought out Farmont Skylite (C&C) still does the T-top conversions about 20 minutes from my house! www.fieroparts.com

As I recall the 87 here does have cut pile carpeting.

Tom's leather seats are unique to what I have seen in other Meras and do not match mine. My leather seat pattern is exactly the same as I have seen in other non Mera, 88 GT's with this option.

I cannot say if Tom's seats are original CC leather for an 88. I would imagine they are considering Tom's car is very low mileage. All I know is that the 87 car here in El Paso has your seat pattern.

This is the car that I was thinking might be a CJB. He originally was a $14k. I looked at it before I bought mine. I even like yellow. However the last picture of the engine just killed it for me. At his current price the car is looking much better, even if the engine is a grease pit.

Mera 8008 is a T-top Mera BUT not "CJB" T-top Mera.

Mera 8008 used to reside in New Hampshire. I visited 8008 while she was getting her 3800 Turbo conversion. 8008 currently resides in Florida owned by the owner of Bob Bracey's black 88 (no build number) Mera.

I have vast Mera and Fiero files ........ Makes ya want to come visit Maine doesn't it Daniel!

Richard,

Does you car have the same light colored cut pile carpeting? In the photos, it looks much lighter than the leather. Was the carpeting all done in this shade with the Mera installed Beechwood leather?

Yes. The lighting or the film--film, what's that?--seems to be giving it a green cast in these pics, but yes, I believe it's the same carpet. I really don't like the stuff, but plan to keep it as original.

OBTW, another non-stock item on #8046, is the faux key lock on the left sail grille--ala f-car filler cap access.

Funny.....it took a while to sink in but that car is for sale by Demitrios who owns Exotic Illusions. He makes and sells his own Lambo replicas. I wonder why he is selling that one?

Yeah, got the pics--nice! I think the upholstery and the two-tone dash are just the differences between the GT and the SE--interesting that they re-carpeted both cars. I have the same floor mats, too--do you think those were included in the package?

My MERA is a Formula.....she 'had" cloth interior and drab grey carpet. I figured if I was going to redo the interior, I would do it right. Custom Mr. Mike's two tone light/dark grey lether seats monogrammed with build code. Black plush carpeting. Matching two tone on the door skins and new roof liner. While I was at it, I soundproofed the floors and added the factory sub with under console amp and dome light selection control. I tried to install a Grand AM stereo that looked just like the 88 Fiero one BUT with the CD rather than the cassette... I may have bought a bad one on e-bay or maybe I just don't know what I'm doing. I'll try again in the winter. For those who have not seen it, here is a small pic.

Let me get this straight...... are you saying that back in the late 80's when I ordered a MERA I can order a Fiero with no leather and have it refitted to leather at CC???? That makes no sence. Why would I not just order one with leather and save $$$??? Let CC do the body restyle. I guess if you wanted the cool GTS seats you had to order the CC leather job. Are we all positive about this? Rodney?

Hey Julian, the Mera leather package was also the tuck and rolled door panels, map pockets, center counsel treatment
and some have the tuck and roll on the passenger side, "Glove Box" area or where it would be if the Fiero had a G.B. in the traditional spot
along with the reverse Ferrari Stitch seats....

Mera #7004 the "Swedish Mera"

*edit* i knew i had a pic of the GB treatment.........

now this is still up for debate the GB addition. it looks too puffy to me.....

and if this is the OEM Fiero Leather.

then the smooth Mera leather above must be the re-design Mera interior as questioned a few posts back

I understand some of those Grand Am slide in, plug compatible radios have to be "recoded" in order to play in the Fiero--I'll try to find where I read that.
