oh my.....a box on my door step from Piedmont OK. who do i know in OK?? holy crap look what The Man, Mike sent me!!!! and for FREE!!! and right off the bat i see a difference between mine and his old one from #7071. which i need some input and photos from you all. mine Mikes #7071..... his are so much thinner.....we need photos of your brackets to compare....mostly the 1987's but you never know with these cars it may vary by supply. i got to see what #6001 has, hope its got the thickies too it may turn into another early mera trait!!!! please, please, please!!!! soo much fun these cars are, always a new discovery. like the bar connecting the two plates. i did not see that in the pics i have of Mera7's car. i missed that one. I installed a 3.4 PR built by West Coast Fiero in mine. It has a mild cam, Darrell Morse ported throttle body and intake, ported exhaust manilfolds, Rodney's stainless vacuum lines, high volume oil pump, roller timing chain and gears, and MSD coil and ignition wires. Trans is a stock Getrag, Even with the extra weight of the Mera body, it now easily outperforms my previous 2.8/Getrag 88 GT, and still looks like a stock engine. I have thought about a turbo, but as nice as it drives now, I will probably just leave it alone. [This message has been edited by Rick 88 (edited 07-05-2011).]

Dan, Any update's on Mera 7's build? It was nice that he sent you those parts. Now you can repair yours properly. It appears Mera specific parts for our cars (bumper mounts) were not very uniform compared to GM pieces......... I wonder if Rodney will start producing some of these parts as these cars start to age? They would probably be better made than the original pieces.

as far as Mikes Mera #7071....after that crap with ****** he got quiet....we used to talk on the phone all the time now, its mute over there. thats whats so cool about the package on the door step, it just kinda showed up. i have not chatted with him in awhile and then poof i got the box. soo cool, he said he was going to send one and he did. glad ole rodney was wrong this time Mike is not a liar, to me anyway as far as the Mera parts. i see that the early stuff may be a "what they had on hand" but the thinner stuff may be a cost cutting measure to increase profit and/or to reduce over all cost to the consumer.... what do you guys have on your Mera, thick or thin bumper brackets?? i also have been working a line on inqury about my reverse lights.....remember the quote where my seller mentions that his stock 1987 Mera had the "308 light configuration"?? i also have a fresh white power around the retangle cutouts....and after finding the rear water traps and the staining of said leaks, the picture is shaping up for me to turn bad i think my Mera left CC without the Fords and my PO took the Carellos i had on Mera X . i found some pics of his car recently and notice a "glass job" here....what do you all think?? i see a line on the left side. this sucks, if it turns tru.... all the confidence i had with the early Mera and i have to go more F-Car to go back to where my car should be.....CRAP!!!! trying to see if he has a Mera1 red or a Carello...it looks like it. thats abad thing too....i got his Carello's. thats three things. i got his Carello reds he has my Carello ambers and i have his Ford back ups...... and is that a OEM "gts"?? prolly mine tooo.....he gave me a real F-Car "GTS" i google'd it.....oh well lose some but i won the most if my Mera X IS #7002. i will be buying the next round for decades if you look real hard at the right side it looks like the whole old light area is visable....may be an optical but then i go to the old post by Mera-NSX my PO.....sad panda time sets in actually i like the white Fords and most likely would have gone this way after a Ferrari taillight sale . i am sure i would say the opposite if givin the situation. i am still piecing it togeather and not too sure how i feel....... i do like the "Not so Ferrari Look" and it stands to reason that i would add the Fords if i was going to "glass" out the door scoops last year or so.....anybody remember this?? yeah that is the way i would go , there i said it. its still weird to say but i aint going to the "308 configuration"...no way!!! i know me "Mr OEM Mera" and all....but even the mighty (cocky) shall fall. i knew it was too good to be true partys over!!!!!!!!!NOT!!!!!!!!!!! laters............ 7014 is currently being converted from the F308 configuration back to stock. At the present time, it has no no Ford backup lights, but you can see where the patch was made if you look at the back side of the panel. Every documented Mera that I have ever seen appears to come with the Ford backup lights even though some were modified later to delete the Ford BU lights and install clear BU centers on the existing tail light to more closely resemble the F308/328 vehicle.

why yes, yes i did.... its funny that all the cars on that truck in front of the LongPre dealer were already sold not shipped just to sit in the "Sales Lot" as eye candy.....kinda cool about the "as ordered" Mera in my Opinion. i am of opinion that Mera #7029 is the Yellow Mera on that truck....neither has the Mera seats like me and is timely for the video production date and also has the White back-ups....3 anythings add up in my book.

Does anyone know how many Mera's were delivered without Ford back up lights? From the videos Dan has posted it appears a number of the 87's were sold in this configuration.
