It's great to hear from you!!!! I bet your smile is still a mile wide today! Trust me, I know mine is just because I know this made you happy. Tyler, this was the least we could do, and you did more for us than we did for you. I guess you are now a local celebrity, huh? If they haven't already, the girls will be calling for a ride in that sweet yellow dream of yours. Congratulations on having your car displayed!
Please know Tyler, if you need ANYTHING at all, post it on here, and it is yours, my friend. ANYTHING.
Don't be a stranger, and keep us updated on your newfound joy.
Your friend, Andy
P.S. I own a page of a thread for the greatest kid ever!

PR, Nice re-cap. You did forget one event, but I forgive you because we were all kind of punchy due to the hour of the morning.
Do you remember you and several others wanting to lower the car once we got it on the ground? I seem to re-call talk of cutting springs! LOL
Jeff
By forgetting one event....you mean the lowering ???
I figured as tired as everyone was, i'd wind up doing it by myself or with just 87Antuzzi, Plus the way things went earlier i sure didn't need anymore complications with only 2 hours before the reveal.
Not to mention Tyler might have a harder time getting down in the seat

X 2 ......if that car gives you any trouble, i'm not that far away !!!!

Before we left Fred pulled the motors out and fixed them before we left Frazee.
Also I'm having a new steering wheel ordered for Tylers car! It's bugging me so bad that I didn't get a wheel for it. The interior turned out so great and that wheel looked to bad. in my option.
I received a panicked phonecall yesterday about the car not having any power at all from PK before he left.
The battery was dead, completely at the shop.
I had them unplug the motor down wires, and then charge the battery. They pulled the charger off of it yesterday, and the car started today. That is the only thing it can be, since unplugging the motors resolved the problem.

Ok, missed my flight Sunday, got in on Monday at 2:15 PM, then worked a half a day. Got home and CRASHED HARD from almost 40 hours with no sleep! I just got home from work and am starting to upload some stuff. I started with a couple of videos.
Here is one from the reveal, from a different angle from the one posted earlier.
Now, we HAD to have a little fun while we were there! With reporters around for 2 days straight..... Most of the time they would walk up when you were working on something, and clip a mic transmitter to your belt, and just start to run the wire up through your shirt. Most of the time unannounced. Then there all of the lead in questions while working on something... things like "So, what made you come up here to help with this", or "Can you tell me what you are working on, and what is involved"? "What do you think of the turnout of people here, is this what you expected"? just lead in question after lead in question.... This is Karen (and I ) getting a little revenge with Boyd. We planned it out together while outside in the "smokers lounge". Him and his camera man were there through the entire build, and all through the night with us.
You KNOW what they say about karma
Watch CLOSE this is no ordinary microphone!!!!!

Wow guys it turned out so amazing I never exspected my car to ever look so amazing j think everyone in frazee is jealous I guess there going to put if in the frazee event center on display for the whole community to look at starting wensday and I d like to thank everyone who came down and helped work on my car and everyone who donated money towards the project and the businesses that donated parts. I would also like to send out a special thanks to synethsis (Chris) for leading the whole project and to Andy who got this whole thing started thanks everyone I couldn't have done anything like this with out you guys you guys are the best
Synthesis got his 15 minutes of fame, TWICE! LOL. Good job ya'll, I don't think that will ever get old, saying that about everybody that put in blood, sweat, tears, time and money to do that for Tyler.
I hope that this car brings you as much joy as it has to all that were involved. I get choked up when I watch Overhaulin', so I can only imagine what the atmosphere of emotions was like on the day of unveiling. Though I haven't met you, you are a brother now, so welcome to the family. Have a blast in your new ride. I wish I had a car like that at your age.
To the people of Frazee and the Fiero community,
In todays times it is hard to believe that so many people can come together to support a single person. You guys truely keep hope alive.
Donations have continued to pour in at a rate faster than I can keep up with. I am able to keep the funds pooled together, but am unable to track all of the names at this stage, as in the last 4 days I have received over 60 distinct emails giving support and prayers to Tyler and his family, as well as many donations.
Archie has donated, along with many people from all over the US who have heard about Tyler, but are not part of the Fiero community.
Donations range in amounts from 5 dollars to 100 dollars. I am keeping up with it as best as I can, but if I don't mention you by name, please forgive me.

Tyler,
I hope you understand what YOU did for this community. It probably seems like others did a lot of giving, but on the contrary. You gave us a reason to do it. So many people here (and else where) have a better outlook, have a new faith in their fellow man (and woman) and are generally happier because of you. I am sure that your town is feeling the same way. I feel honored to be a contributor simply because I was in the right place at the right time. I still get goose bumps thinking about the whole thing. I thank you. Having said that.... NOTHING is certain in this world. Let me say that again.... NOTHING. Anything can happen. A month from now there may be a cure. You could be walking in the spring instead of the information you have been told. Stay strong because if I have learned anything, it is that it's not over until it's over. And it is definately NOT over yet my friend. There is a lot of strength here and I think it can be felt, not just seen. Hundreds of people are thinking about you and praying for you every day.... likely every hour. As it has been stated, you have an extended family here and that is real. Not just typed messages and posted pictures but real people who care. As for the car.... It looks great! I am so glad that you can enjoy it. All those people who didn't understand what you saw in the Fiero .... well... they know now! I really like the color you chose. You probably can tell I have a thing for yellow cars too (see sig ). The stereo ROCKS! I would be honored just to park next to you sir.
Post whenever you want to talk. We are here for you. 24/7.
Again.... No one is promised anything. None of us knows if we will be alive tomorrow or not. That's why we need to try to live each day to its fullest.
Thank you for giving us this wonderful gift Tyler.
So, Tyler... Now that your 2.8 Engine is up and running flawlessly, are you still planning on pushing through with the 3.4 swap right away?
As cool as the donation is, I'd suggest having Stuart get everything prepped, and then tucking it into a corner.. Then, drive the hell out of your beautifully reconstructed 2.8 until it finally pops...
You'd only have a day or three of down time on your car before your new engine was in anyway, so use that 2.8 until it dies on you. It still sounds mean as hell.

I have had the privilege of seeing the newest article in the Frazee Forum, and photos of the front and back pages of their full color publication that will be circulated through town.

Not yet. I only saw the "Pre-published" copy that had not been finalized. I did get the photos of the full front and back as well, but have not been given permission to post them yet.

Now that it is raining, did someone install the windshield wipers? I specifically wanted them left off for the reveal because of the cleaner lines without like the Stinger. Jeff
Tyler glad to hear that someone donated a new trans for the engine swap, The 4spd auto and 3.4TDC will be great fun. How long do they say it will take them to do the swap for you? I hope they make it look like it came from the factory.

I understand that the transmission that is going into it will have a high stall converter and a shift kit.. That is the TH125 transmission...
I am concerned that the transmission won't hold up to the power of that 3.4, even with the shift kit... Is there a way we can try to find the 4T60 or 4T65 for it before it goes in?
It will handle the power considerably better, and last a lot longer under the power.

I may have missed it somehwere in this enormous thread. Does anyone know if Mrs. Wake shipped the shirts that were ordered? I've left her a few PM's but I have not heard from her. We have a Fiero gathering planned down here in the desert and I would like o wear the shirt to it. Mainly for pride but also to generate some more interest in the project. Thanks in advance.
This has been so terrific i have spread the word to the main car forums im a part of. Hopefully they pop in and give some positives for this kid and all of you!!! I came on here to merely sell this 3800 engine from a GTP i was parting out and cant get over this when i seen the live feed. Between all i have wrote already in the various threads for him and in this one and in the chat last weekend I just feel he and everyone here deserves the best!!!
What is the difference between the two transmissions? What is the horsepower difference between the two engines? If their something that needs to be done with the car I can help out. Just let me know.
