Steve said they ground them down a bit. I'm not 100% on if they did it or not tho. I'm liking the exhaust they built. They finally sent me some pics. He said they are putting a dummy exhaust tip on the one side since it exits on the one side. I'm hoping they send me a video of the first start up.
LOL...it is hard enough to get pics. I'll see what I can do to get a video...it's kinda weather dependent as to if they can take it out or not...and the phase they are in if it is road ready.
UPDATE.... they are going to have it on the road they hope Sunday. There is bad news though, they said they cant paint it in that garage. They said it don't stay heated good enough. They will have to wait till after I get home for paint...unless???? I can borrow someones heated garage for a weekend. Then they can coordinate the paint job and complete the project.
Video of road test and start up to follow. As soon as I get it.
hey Rob, I was looking into that 3m Automix 8115 and that appears to be just a panel adhesive, which I do need to hold everything together, but what about 3m Automix 8237? That stuff looks to be what I'll need to fill in the seams and make everything flush again. What are your thoughts on this?

looks good but it will shrink over time u still need to add a light coat of mud and highbuild over it to conceal it and then it will be good as gold id say run with it! good stuff!
OK....Any Ideas on how to fix my garage heat situation? Finding a Garage in Wisconsin during the cold months is next to impossible. I was thinking of buying them a Garage heater to help the existing heater. The issue is consistency, so it should help...Yes? I'm not sure. The project is almost done. I hate for it to be held up by something simple...
at my place we are currently in the shopping list for a propane ceiling mounted heater. IF we get one by january i might be able to work something out for a soldier.
Umm, cant pin it down due to Security, but I can say I'll be back to Fort Campbell in mid Feb. and on leave in early March. I hope to come home while on leave. My wife is also deployed and is taking R&R leave around March as well. She is only back for 2 weeks then has to come back to Afghanistan til mid June. So I may not be up to Wisconsin til after she leaves. It will depend on what she wants to do for leave. She is from New Holstien so chances are we will be in Wisconsin sometime in March. If not, I will be there my self eventually...lol. Sorry it is complicated...the Military is like that...lol

lol i lived the last 6 years in Chilton so i know that family. If you lived in NH chances are i went to school with you if you went between 05 and 08. Sad isnt it that such a small school catered to so many towns?
I am actually from Oshkosh. Wifey is from NH and graduated in 88. We are both old people...lol
Lol i know. Im just stating a fact as there is a student that has a red 84 se that attends the highschool in chilton and from what i hear he has actually seen this thread on here but is just a shadow, waiting for a reason to join.
hey jets....hope all is well. and UPDATE... the beast lives....they had first start-up in the car. It didn't go well tho. A few minor hiccups. They forgot to install the transmission vacuum regulator....and leaked fluid....It is fixed and Car is 100% and waiting for a shot of warm so they can paint it.
YAY!!!! 100 posts. If i don't get a chance Merry X-mas to all. I hope all of you have a safe and wonderful X-mas. Hope you all get good Fiero stuff under the tree.
Merry Christmas to you and everyone else as well! Thanks for your service and stay safe over there. It's very cold here and alot of the Fiero activity has stopped or slowed up immensely. Hopefully it will warm up a bit. Jake your car is comming along nicely. I have to get back to mine.....as soon as it warms up a bit.
Update, Well the car is running. My friend said it is really touchy on the accelerator. He smoked the tires pulling it out of the garage to move it to next stall. Since im waiting for paint. I ordered a Warber hood scoop from Archie and low profile HID headlamp conversion/ buckets for them to add. I think the ride will look pretty sweet with the new headlamps and the scoop is nice looking too. Anyone else have one and how do you like it?

I'd think that just about any rearward-facing vent in the hood of a Fiero would be functional (and prevent the headlamps from popping up at high speed). For that reason, my focus here is more on their aesthetics.
More specifically, in regard to the Warber hood, IMHO I think its angular lines might go better with the less curved, more angular lines of a "notchie" Fiero, rather than with the more curved, less angular lines of a "fastback" (`86-`88) GT Fiero.
Made by PFF member, Tha Driver, one alternative that can provide that more curved appearance is not a full hood, but an "insert" melded into one (and discussed further in "Angel Vent hood scoop for sale" at https://www.fiero.nl/forum/Forum4/HTML/038839.html ):

See what I mean about its more curvy appearance?
Also, the two small curves at the lowermost part of the vent opening nicely mirror the small curves of the lowermost part of the Fiero's headlight doors, and the curves of the Fiero's front turn signal and parking lamp housings. Those hood vent design touches, and even the small lip surrounding that hood vent's opening --- all look to me like they purposely were designed to be there in the first place.
I think that vent opening also would go nicely with the curves in the side quarter panel scoop from The Fiero Warehouse that your car now has.
Back in early November, when several of us from the club visited your car's Oshkosh location, one of your friends had several questions about The Fiero Warehouse quarter panel side scoop on my car, so I guess I must have answered his questions satisfactorily:

One minor modification I'd suggest there is to wrap some sandpaper around a small-diameter pipe or rat-tail file, and then round the uppermost and lowermost parts of that side scoop's openings. I did that on mine solely for aesthetics because the rest of the scoop is so curvy. (Unfortunately, I've not figured out how to post pictures of the finished result on this forum, or even e-mail those pictures to someone else.)
Thanks, Yes, you answered their questions, they asked me to order the scoops the monday after the ride...lol. I like the curvy parts of the hood scoop, but I went with the Archie scoop. I saw a good pic of one on a fastback and it looked pretty good.
