Oh, by the way, Steve, I spent the drive home from Oshkosh cursing your name.
Remember when I asked why you thought my car had such a harsh vibration on the freeway? Well I suggested that it was the steering rack, and you said "Nope, your tires are out of balance." Well, I disagreed with you, and...... you were dead right. DAMN YOU STEEEEVE!!!! Hahahaha! You've bested me again!
That was the one time I ever doubted you, because I figured there was no way that was possible, but you were right. New wheels and tires and it rides muuuuch smoother at freeway speeds. I will never doubt you again.
My hat is off to you sir, for you truly know your crap, but you knew that too.
I appreciate the comments! (no my head did not swell) Jets get your mind out of the gutter!
Shadow~I am GLAD you finally replaced those shoddy tires!
Be safe and take care.
Steve

Hey guys. I know I've previously mentioned parts (mostly exterior) that I've got to get rid of from my failed 85 GT project. Well, I just accepted a job offer in Seattle, WA and will be leaving in less than a week and a half. So I need to get rid of everything ASAP!...Like this weekend if at all possible. Ideally I'd like to help the local Fiero community by finding somebody with a little available space (the pile currently occupies about the same amount of floor space as my Miata in the garage, but could probably be condensed) who is interested in coming by and taking everything at a great (currently undetermined, and fully negotiable) price. I would expect that the buyer should easily be able to make a reasonable profit simply by turning around and reselling these parts individually.
My only stipulation is be that I be paid cash in full before the parts leave the premises...As my wife now requires, for some strange reason.
Anybody interested, please let me know ASAP via PM. Otherwise it's off to see what Gibson's will give me for it all, whether it ends up in the yard or on the pile.
Justin

Hry guys we have a new member today! he has a 85 gt with the IRM decklid scoops.!
That noob would be me, finally getting a chance to stop in and say hey. I got the GT out last weekend before the big snow dump and figured out what needs TLC since hibernation (luckily just needs a battery, bled brake lines and a re-seated tire). Psyched to see it in the driveway again tho!!!
And Justin ... if only I'd seen that post a couple years ago! I just got done (painstakingly) replacing half my exterior panels last summer, lol...
Welcome! I'd love to see that GT! Notchback GT's are reaaaaaaaaaaaly starting to grow on me. We have a couple running (or sitting) around Point.
And also definitely agreed about Scott. He's helped me out more times that I can count on my hands, and his sandblasting and powder coating work are great =). He's a details guy.

Yeah, my 2 favorite Fieros of all time are the 85 GT and the 88 GT. Eventually I will own one of each. My 85 will be my daily driver for life, and the 88 will be a sick turbo Northstar track monster with a stripped interior, full suspension, paint, and every ounce of weight reduction and every horsepower possible. Anyway, the 85 will stay a mildly fast daily driver because honestly, it has grown on me, like you said. It just feels right. I drove a fastback day to day before, and the notchie just feels better, I dunno... I will admit though, the fastback got more thumbs up and people trying to race it even though it was like 5 colors and in horrible shape. I'll just never understand... lol

I like the idea of your track car, and I know most people like the fastback better, but an aero notchie actually has less drag and is a good bit lighter. If I were to build a track only car I would start with a stripper 88 4 popper and put only the aero nose on it. You'll get al the aero benefits with the lightest weight that way. I used to have an 85 sport coupe I drove around like that and it looked great with just the aero nose on it
so i got the chance to buy 2 fiero gts with a spare engine for 1500 obo but 5 spd anyone wanna split it i really want the blue one but he wont split them up i can probly talk him down to 1200 cash so anyone wanna spend 600 to get them selfs a running 86 or 87 gt 5 spd =) lmk asap txt me 1-262-498-1820 mike

Funny you should mention the weight and drag, because those are some of my favorite things to bring up when someone tells me the fastbacks are better. :P
I actually used to have a 88 2.5 coupe that I converted to fastback. Too bad the biggest weight reduction was the rust holes that plagued the frame of that car. I miss my 88...

hey anyone out there local. Justin need someone to buy his Fiero parts. He has a bunch of stuff, and he's set a very low price for it all, see his thread in the mall. I unfortunately don't need anything he has, but I do have the space for it for a little while at least. If any of you guys need any of the stuff he has maybe we can get 4-5 or however many of us to split up his $100 asking price and take what you need, and try to sell the leftovers instead of letting this stuff go to the yard or dumpster. I can pick this stuff up this Sunday morning, maybe we could have a quick little fiero get together with Justtin before he leaves. I may be interested in a few item he has but as I've said I have no need for most of it and I wouldn't want to have all the stuff in my garage for very long I'm sure we could figure out a way to divide this stuff up amongst ouselves to help a fellow Fiero guy out. LETS GET THIS DONE !!

SUPER GLAD YOU'RE OK!!!!! I know how those crashes can be, and I'm glad you came out ok!
Here is my crash with a large truck. My dad was driving.
Some A-hole was speeding around a curve in the wet. He was driving a truck like the one pictured, and was in the inside lane of the curve. Me and my dad were driving in the opposite direction in the outside lane of the same curve. Other guy went to fast, lost his tire grip and plowed right into us. Me and my dad were going about 30, the other guy, 40-45.
(This is just a reference pic, not the actual truck)
Here is our vehicle.
Take a good look at the driver's door. More on that in a sec.
This is what the impact did to the frame.
I was out of the truck as soon as we were hit, and I ran to my Dad's side. He was stuck in the truck and was not responding to my calls for a few moments, and when he finally came back to reality, he was complaining of severe chest pain, as his door kicked his ribs pretty hard. When police arrived they made the call for jaws of life, because his door was stuck and his injuries were deemed too severe for him to exit the passenger side. Eventually, he decided he would try to slide out my side. They put him on a stretcher and rushed him to the hospital. The whole time people kept asking me how I was, but I told them to focus on my dad because I was concerned he may be dying. But in the end, we were both fine. My dad was checked out and released from the hospital after a few hours. The police who responded were absolutely stunned at that, which made me laugh. It takes quite a bit to put my dad out.
I almost fought the guy who hit us, because as I was in tears trying to comfort my dad, the guy came over to me and said, "Stop worrying so much. It will be fine, I have insurance." I absolutely snapped when he said that. I flipped out and started screaming at him and told him that if my dad died, I would kill him too and his insurance wouldn't be any good to him after that. My dad had to convince me not to kick the crap out of that bastard. Ugh, still makes me so mad that he had the nerve to say that after he was at fault.
Anyway, like I said, it's good to see you're doing ok Foxy! There's no feeling like walking away from that and the appreciation for life it gives you! Live it up man!
