For the valve covers, I was thinking white with a red pin stripe around the base. Can't remember where I got that idea, though...
Anyway, it's nice to see the IMSA getting a good engine. That oughta liven it up quite a bit.
what I was thinking in them is yellow the the bottom with a red stripe across the middle and white at the top with IMSA and supercharged in cursive across it
nice looking Engine , are you going to replace the starter while its out of the car, may as well to avoid problems later. I would also change the color on the transmission to something a bit less Ronald McDonald

I guess I don't understand what your saying about the starter....The starter is very easily accessible while the moter is in the car, actually, easier than a 2.8 starter. And because I am building this for someone else, everything is thought out with servicability in mind. -Jason

Trans color is for mock, and I'd agree on starter but I am sure its already on jasons list, as long as rick's budget is big enough.
He beat me...

I just meant that it would be easier to change without the car around it walk up change part no playing tetris with parts, and i didn't know if the pic was of the engine ready to go into the car it seemed a rather curious color for a car that's predominantly white and yellow. I wasn't trying to impune your skills just made a suggestion and comment on the color combo as it seemed a strange choice nor was i attacking anyone's choices.

No worries! No offense was taken.
The color combo we're going for will hopefully complement the car. Unfortunatley, the ugly ass orange is what the PO of the trans decided would look good. If your impressed by the trans, you really should see what he did to the 2.8 that came with it...
I will say that you won't be playing tetris removing anything for service.. The angle of the pic is deceiving, in that, there is at least 6 or more inches between the PCM plate and the cradle, the starter is still in the stock location behind the cradle front rail. This idea has been rolling around my head for awhile (among others) and it's still in the rough planning stages and may or may not come to fruition. Wiring and such will actually play a big role in wether or not it fits. Stay tuned......

Jason has it and is putting a 3800Sc in it. Still mine though, I'm currently working on a mera.
Rick, are you bringing either to the Tyler 5th?
