Hopefully I'm going to be able to work on the car soon! Going to try to get it home Sunday.

Still collecting parts since the car still hasn't made it home where I can work on it. Every time I think I'll have time to get it home something comes up. Maybe next year. I did pick up some solid cradle mounts for it.

On the fence. Can't decide if I want to keep it stock. I still have parts to find for the SD4.

I have been sitting on the original or not fence as well with mine. Mine has only 57k on it. So underpowered but I haven't been able to bring myself to do anything to it. If I did I would probably go with a 3800SC and do it in exactly the same colors as the Indy motor is so it looks factory.

That is what I have planned for mine. Trying to add some silver and red powder coating to the 3800.
I think the SD4 would be ideal in a swapped Indy but I have really started to love the L67 sound and hp.

The SD4s are just sooooo darned expensive! Wonder how reliable they are coupled with cost coupled with fuel mileage...I guess what I am asking is what are they like to live with?

The iron duke in my indy runs. Was thinking of pulling it and freshening it up instead of the sd4. If it ever died I'd look into a turbo ecotec from a late model gm or something like that. Or a 3800.

Bump! Got to keep this out of the archives. I got a deal on a new timing gear kit and a headlight switch for the car. Maybe next year will be the year I put it all together.

I would take the 88 but it looks like they are not having a dust off this year. I don't see it on their schedule this year. I might do the Mendon dustoff this coming weekend with the 88 if the weather is ok.

As pitiful as the duke is, it doesn't seem right to pull it out and go with a Buick V6. The Pace Car deserves a Pontiac engine in my opinion.

Let's kick start that SD4 project.
The power from mine over the stock Duke is amazing. It is no longer a daily driver with this engine in it, but its a heckuva lot of fun when I do drive it.

I don't disagree. If I ever finish the car I will probably stay stock. It's not that bad. I just need to get it home to work on it.

Purchased a new house on 2 acres. Hopefully building a pole barn after the old house sells. Maybe then I can finally start work on this car again. I did move all the parts to where the car is finally.

Been a while since I’ve posted to this one too. The car is back at my house. Had to replace the rubber fuel line in the tank, it weakened and split so the car wouldn’t run, thanks modern fuel. I also put a new battery in it. Haven’t done much else other than drive it around the block once in a while. Getting a pole barn built this month so maybe some progress soon. Oh yeah, it got a little brother too:

Let’s keep this out of the archives. As soon as the 3800 swap is done in the IMSA Fiero this car is finally getting started on. The engine from the IMSA is going into the pace car. It’s an iron duke with 47000 miles. Now that I finally have a shop I want to completely restore this car. Will be posting videos of the project on my YouTube channel. https://www.youtube.com/user/fast88fiero

So, 2020 was not easy so I’m just now starting to work on this car. Got it on jack stands, wheels off and wheel well liners out. It’s pretty rusty. It’s going to be a huge project...

Heres the youtube video!
