I've got one of those radios. (Actually, mine's a DEHP77DH, but the specs are pretty much the same.) As far as sound quality, I've found it to be probably as good as the Monsoon CD unit that everyone is using.
A good set of speakers (or even just a good pair of speakers in the dash) will absolutely do wonders for it.
Pioneer TSA4103s seem to have much better bass response than the equivalent Kenwoods. (A friend even asked if I had the factory sub system.)

Unless you want something that will shake the car, that is.

Took me forever to figure out how to set the clock. PWR off, press audio button.. Mine didn't come with a wiring manual so I scoured the Internet to find something. Do you have the correct wiring manual?

I think I've still got it somewhere. If nothing else I can tell you what wires from the Pioneer go to what wires in the stock harness. I bought a GM adapter harness and spliced it into the Pioneer wiring.
I'll look around tomorrow and see what I can dig up.

So I have decided to add alky or meth injection to add the w2a intercooler. I am leaning toward a snow performance kit. I have just 2 weeks to make sure the car is 100% ready for Mase.

I'm surprised you aren't running E85.

Good luck with your new setup and the tune, hoping it stays together for you.

So MASE had to fly to Canada and we rescheduled for Aug 3rd. Meh!!!!! Oh well, I did ding the door on his new GTR last time I was there so I guess we will call it even.

I installed the Meth kit as a water only system. I don't plan on running meth or alcohol at this time. Honestly, I dont know how long the trans or clutch will last as is. The car is a BEAST now. I just need to do something about the heatsoak problem. It gets HOT here. I added a phenolic spacer between the fullstack and LIM (this required 100mm M8x1.25 bolts, I had to special order them!). Hopefully that will help. DH suggested that I ditch that POS and get a real w2a chargecooler but I really like the simplicity of my engine bay as is.This may change, ask DH, I have to try things my own way but usually end up following his advice later.

Right now I am adding a pin to the EGR location on the ECM so I can datalog my WBO2. But I am going on a trip so it will have to wait till I get back. Plus, I still need to get my damn AC lines made.

Steve, with the amount of knowledge you have on these swaps and how to do them properly we probably should have gotten together and done our swaps together. We would have had them faster, less expensive, and better quality than what we got!!!!

I knew I had this someplace.
Mine is the 77DH, so it has some wiring that yours does not. I'm pretty sure the 14 pin Molex connector is the same, however.
You'll have to rotate the image. I didn't want to shrink it any more.

The Molex connector is numbered 1-14. The GM harness adapter is lettered A-M, skipping I.
Connect as follows...
1 -- B
2 -- A
3 -- unused (system remote)
4 -- F
5 -- G
6 -- J
7 -- H
8 -- D
9 -- C
10-- to brown wire on 2 pin plug (dimmer)
11-- to orange wire on 2 pin plug (keep-alive)
12-- unused (mute)
13-- L
14-- K

Unused wires on the GM connector are E and M

My GM connector came from Crutchfield, where I bought the radio. Strangely enough, nearly all of the wire colors matched up to the Pioneer harness.

I finally got around to swapping out the flywheel bolts. Its all back together now. The new SPEC flywheel doesnt seem happy with my starter. I get a bit of that classic chevy starter needs shimmed sound upon startup. Other than it took forever for it to relearn idle, its driveable for now.

This images is larger than 153600 bytes. Click to view.

Impression. ZOMG wow is it fast. Like properly fast! I never liked the gearing of the F23 before. Now, its fine. Each gear pulls like its 1 lower. Even on 265/35 Potenza RE760's the car will boil the tires in 2nd. High boost tune you ask? LOL not anytime soon. I'm good for now.

Now on to paint, and interior.

Well the flywheel bolt fix has been completely sucessful. I spent hours working on a solution. 10mm x 1.00 is what the crank needs to be drilled for. I used flywheel bols for a Nissan 240z from ARP. 70ftlbs of TQ, they arent backing out anymore. RESULT!

Did I mention I am tearing the car apart? I watched too many vids from turbo tom on youtube and got super excited about the car. The car is going to be completely rebuilt from the ground up. Not sure what I am going to do drivetrain wise, but the turbo stuff from my car is for sale in the mall. Once my new shop is finished (40x60 with a lift) BVMotorsports will be back up and officially running.

Damn BV your not messing around ! This went from good to very bad and back to good and now great. Way to hang through the tough times and reach for the goal of what you want this car to be. Look forward to seeing more updates. How is your other Pontiac race car doing?

Garth works so much the car hasnt moved from the garage in over a year. Sucks but, it is what it is. I just dont think he is into Fieros like he used too. But then his Fiero did get scrapped and I built the 85GT from its parts. However, we are building a 1988 FC RX7. Its gutted, caged, sbc/t5 swap & T2 diff w/ axles. It is being built for open track days. Back on the 5th we went to a track day that gave us 8hrs of track time for $199. Unbelievable! I even bought a turboshitbox. This Fiesta ST is the most fun car I have ever owned.

There used to be a 3800 racing engine in there, not sure I want to know what happened. (Edit) Just scanned back and see this move was intentional. Did you sell the 3800 to any one we know?

I dont half ass anything. It will be right, or it will sit in the garage until it is. I dont know how long it will take to sell, and I am going to want top dollar for it. You would cry if you knew how much $$ i have in the car. The man hours alone is insane.

Well it was quite an adventure to say the least.. I've spent so much money on my two turbo 3800 Fiero builds, I can imagine your bill must be insane.. especially after being ripped off.

Is there a reason you never finished the car with the turbo 3800 in it? Did it.. explode or something? Seems like it would have fetched a much higher amount with the turbo setup.

I did finish the car. It was amazing. But it was too much. It broke more often than not. There is such thing as too much power. I know, I am stunned I said it too. I sold the turbo kit and used the money to purchase the s3. Once this car is up, running and sold, I am going to build a LS swapped FD. Been wanting to do that for 10 years. Seems I like the build far more than anything.

Believe me, I know how much all that stuff cost. I buy top of the line stuff too and my turbo 86 GT didn't work out as expected so I ended up throwing in the towel and traded it to started over from scratch with an 88 coup.

It runs! Once I figured out I forgot to plug in the new LQ4 MAF sensor, it ran pretty well. Now I am waiting on my 4" aluminum pipe and various silicone hoses so I can make a proper CAI. I ordered one of those 3" mandrel bent doughnut thingys and a 3" U/J bend combo. Hopefully I can tie it into the beautiful Borla exhaust Fierobsessed made for me. Thats one part I dont want to part with.

Thanks, everything was very well packed and great to deal with. I'm going overkill with it, just ordered 4340 rods, ATI damper. Lots to go.

I'm never happy with any less than 12,000 horsepower.
