Don't use existing emblems. You might get shut down. Try a basic arrowhead background to keep a bit of Pontiac. Try an overhead flying Pegasus and experiment with forward and back swept wings. If forward swept wings, try red white and blue elongated triangles behind the wings to fill in the area.

I like this design the best with the slanted stripes. Not stuck on the background color though. That could go different ways but not sure one is better than another.

The pegasus needs to stand up a bit more, his front legs need to curl in more and his head needs to point more directly to the side. As he is, it looks like he's sneaking up on someone. Might be the way to go if you're building a "sleeper". LOL

The crazy tail is actually part of the symbolization of shield insignia think medieval shields. It doesn't bother me, but i can see where you are going with it needing to be more horse like.

If the tail is going to be normal, the leg hair needs to be normal too. If not it will look like it is half goat.

I agree. Leave the horse standing, take off the access hair, leave the wings and the thre lines of color at the top. Matter of fact I may go with that type of design myself.
