A bit on the steep side for most of the parts! If I could sell some of my beechwood GT dashes for $600 each I might be able to afford paint for my project car.
Well, they are pretty rare parts, off an Indy. The person is asking what he thinks they might be worth. If you don't think they're worth it, then don't buy them. Someone else will. Or nobody will, and the prices will have to be lowered if the owner wants to sell them.
3-4 worn out pace car replicas is proof they're almost everywhere? In 2009 there were 254,212,610 registered vehicles. That's 0.000000016%. Even for the total ~2000 pace cars sold, it's still only 0.000007867%. And that was ~4 years ago.
Instead of buying all of those parts from that eBay seller, just buy this car here ^^^ It's such a great deal </sarcasm off>

It's a used car dealer. He probably did try to sell the whole car for some ridiculous amount. Didn't sell - so he's now trying to make the same $ by parting it out.

It's a money laundering scam... some drug dealer will buy it and now the seller has some cash that he can deposit without anyone questioning where it came from.
I have just under 400 Pace Cars on the list. the trans missions are 50/50 This is from a list that has been hard hit for over 7 years and for the last 3 is has slowed to 30 a year maybe. At 1st we got 100 per year. Of these 396 cars 24 are for sure salvaged.
So I say there is no more than 700 left with many of those in bad condition. I think 700 is pushing it also. Rick B
Total cars on this list minus first 4 is 396 With Automatics 198 With Manual 190 No trans listed 10 Canadian 25 Destroyed/Salvaged 24

How many running out of the 400-700, I wonder? Is Mine running?...well at least it was running when I parked it a year ago lol
I bet 1/3rd are not running but are very fixable. Mine is in pieces but has a solid frame and I just haven't had time to put the new engine together, suspension and possibly paint since the past owner didn't do it correctly. Getting older makes it harder to take the time for cars when you have family and property now

That's my excuse... but I made a vow to get mine on the road this summer. Be nice if I could take it to Indy, but I'm pretty sure that's not going to happen.
It does say "or best offer". That tells me he either knows he is over priced and expects you to make a lower offer or doesn't know what the pricing should be and expects you to make a lower offer...

I hate to see where he prices the seats...
If they're in good condition and less than $1000, then the seats are cheap.
Everyone complains about the prices of some Fieros or Indy (or other rare Fiero types) parts. But they are all incredibly cheap. Be glad they aren't rare Honda parts, for a semi-rare Honda.
Hopefully he's not getting a lot of offers like the type I'm getting for people from craigslist, for a set of wheels I have. I'm asking $600 for a set of wheels that consistently sells for $1000-1200+shipping (used) on eBay, and had someone offer me $300. New ones will go for up to $2500.
One thing people need to consider, is shipping too. All the times in the link from the OP are free shipping. And some of the prices aren't so bad, considering they're Indy-specific and shipping is free. Some of the generic parts are a bit overpriced though, indeed. But also, some of them still aren't that bad considering the free shipping.
holy cow! someones a clown. did you know that fieros are made of gold..... according to this guy here! 45 bucks for the dam plastic side scoop intake thing! i could make 15 for that price.

Then do it. He's asking $39.99 for it, actually, and isn't the only one doing so. Though the average price is $15. If you think you can make brand new ones at a cost of 15 for $45, then do it, sell them for $10-15, make some money, and quit complaining about what other people are asking for them.
