Time for another update I an about another week away from having the main body ready for fibreglassing. I have used 16 templates from the doors back to the rear of the car at the moment most of it is within 2 - 3mm per side of aechother. Once glassed I will alter the templates and try and get it closer. Also got some new rear lights to see what the concensus is on them.
Finally got some hinges that I have been able to rework to use on the rear hatch. The steel ruler is there till I get some stronger gas struts as they will not hold up the weight of the hatch.
Citroen ds3 rear lights.
A rough fit to see what they look like on the car.
Got the tail lights fitted to the body along with a high level brake light
Need to gauge opinion on putting the word PONTIAC or FIERO or both on the back. This will be in the same stlye as the tail lights using infinity mirrors to create the 3d effect.
I like them... the lights have a really distinctive effect... I've never seen anything like it before. What are you plans for the wide space in between the two lights? Are you going to break it up with reflectors, or vents, or grills? In my humble opinion something needs to be done to break up that huge expanse. Keep up the great work!
Hi Bloozberry. That was my question a couple of posts back. I was gauging opinion on making an insert saying either PONTIAC or FIERO or both in the same style as the lights giving the infinity look. I knew straight away it was too big of an expanse to leave as is.
Thanks guys for the moment I like minngreenGTs idea of just V12 so on with the show.
Glued a couple of bits of timber together and printed out the V12 stuck them to the wood cut them out. Next stage if to fibreglss round them take away the timber which will leave the template for the leds to go into
This is one hell of a project car.. for the back I would put your name for the car........ may I suggest Pegasus V12...... a reborn Fiero maybe? My finale has a backlit panel to take up some of the space in the back panel of the car. By the way I am visiting in York for a while, maybe I could come down and have a "butchers".......

Thanks I quite like the name Pegasus V12. You are more than welcome to come and visit I am away from the 15th to the 22nd of October and we are moving house on the 5th of November but any other date would be fine. York is about a three and a half hour drive from Norwich about 180 miles. Can anyone think of a better suited name for the car than Pegasus V12

The builder of this car is certainly quite a craftsman but this project was akin to nearly building an automobile from scratch. While steady progress seems to have been made, one can only assume that the car was never finished. I know a guy here in NJ that started a kit car project that got put off to the side as well. Large projects like this take hours of work to complete and builds by a single person are often not taken to fruition. I hope that the builder will read this and provide an update.

The sad thing is that only 3% of kit cars ever get finished. The ones that do get finished are the ones that are building for the love of build. If the end product is the only thing on a persons mind, frustration will end it short.
Northeastfiero seems to have a love for the building process. I'm sure we'll get an update soon.
Thanks for the kind words from everyone. I have not abandoned the project we moved into a new house on March 6th that is better suited to our youngest daughter of 18 who has cerebral palsy. We have nearly finished the adaptations to help us to make her life more managable. At the moment we do not have a garage here so the car is under cover in the back garden till the back end of the year when we can afford to build a garage. The cover will come off when the weather gets better and I will do work on it as and when I can so there will be updates but they will not be very often.
A quick update on the car or lack of. Unfortunately on the last day of July 2015 I was in an accident and broke my back which required spinal surgery. I am now getting back to doing most of the things I could do previously with a bit added pain. So as of this weekend I am going to start working on the bodywork, I am hoping to have that side completed within the next 3 months then on to the last of the mechanicals then finally the interior. I will post some pics on Monday of where It is currnetly at.
I was not happy with the front lights position so I have moved them forward. Need to finish off the fixing brackets then alter the bodywork round them.
